I have the second generation Zune 80, and it is one of the best alternatives to the iPod that's currently available. The two main things that made me want a Zune rather than an iPod was its larger screen and FM radio. It also has wi-fi capabilities including wireless sync to your computer and other Zunes.

Through the Zune Originals website, you can design your own mp3 player with engravings and images at no additional cost. It's a great deal, and makes the Zune very unique. The Zune can only use its own software for uploading music, so that can be a hassle for iTunes users trying to make a transition. Don't worry though; your music collection isn't lost. Your music can be transferred (just google it for more details) with some patience.

Free firmwares updates are consistently making the Zune better as well. It now has free games available from Zune Marketplace, where you can also purchase movies, shows, music, and subscribe to podcasts. The Zune Pass music subscription service is great...

I purchased the Microsoft Zune 80 GB Black MP3 Player a year and a half ago. I weighed the pros and cons and being that I have major issues with Apple since I have a PC, and having done some research on the Zune, I decided to buy one. Sadly, I've been rather disappointed in my purchase. You don't have the pinwheel like the iPod does, so you have to adjust to a directional pad that looks like one button and can be a bit sensitive. To reset it, there's no easy button, you have to hold down one of the two side buttons and up on the directional pad. That's a bit much to reset the device if it freezes up if you ask me. The lack of accessories and the higher prices of what little they have are a big detractor for most, though I don't need every little special tool. The worst part for me was how the Zune stopped functioning properly after just a few months. Though it was under warranty and the process for submitting it for repair is rather quick, I was sent a refurbished unit...

I purchased my Zune over a year a go and have had no problem with it. I love that I can load movies and videos so that it is more than just a music player when I travel. However... I purchased a Zune for my son and unfortunately he dropped it and I had to replace it. Then when he was trying to update his new one it blanked out on him and had to be sent in for replacement. The third time it happened we bought him another brand of MP3 player.

Get and iPod. I spent 250$ on this, and it freezes, and sometimes won't even play. It is the most temperamental peice of technology I own. I would have gotten an iPod if I would have known it was going to be this much of a problem. No one is any help trying to get it fixed either. I know many many people that are having this same problem.

The Zune by Microsoft is the best mp3 player out there. It holds tons of music and pictures. Music sounds great too. Friends with other players were also convinced after seeing it to switch from the other top player. They now use the Zune!!!

Zune has a great sound quality. It has a rado feature that is why I switched to this from my Apple ipod over a year ago. It also gives few free games when you update your software/zune in your computer (they may not be the best games you like, but they are still entertaining especially sudoku!). The only thing is that I think Apple Ipod has longer batter life than this. Its battery life can lasts up to three or four days. It is also not that sophisticated looking in comparison to Ipod, but it does not get scratches easily. Overall it is a good choice!

I am totally into reviews and searching before purchasing a product. I look in depth for an MP3 player that was the BEST. Of course I looked hard at the iPod's but think they size of their memory is just too small for the prices they asked. I found the ZUne 80 gig, and decided I would buy it because there is so much room on it that I now have all of my home videos, 200 audio books, 1000's of songs, and loads of pictures.

I am a very busy person so I really only get to listen to my audio books while commuting to and from work. If I every forget my Sune at home I am a very sad person though! lol

THE BAD....

To save room on my laptop I moved my audio files to a seperate drive, but now I cannot sync my zune to my computer unless I make SURE the external drive is hooked up. Otherwise everything disappears from my Zune!

If Im listening to an audio book in the car, and get to work and want to play some music via some external speakers my place gets lost in the book, and I had better remember...

I love love love this Zune. It has such a large memory capacity. The 80g Zune is only a few dollars more than the iPod 16g. I've had iPods before and the Zune IS SOOOOO MUCH BETTER!
I purchased MP3 Rocket at a base price with unlimited downloads. Everytime I download a song, the music automatically shows up in my Zune library. But Microsoft does offer a 'Zune Pass' for 14.99 a month with unlimited downloads of music, video, games, pictures....
It's a great product for a fair price....

The sturdy shell of the Zune does not account for its durability. Comes in attarctive packaging, just not so pretty on the inside. I had multiple problems getting the manufacter to replace after it stopped working, though it was still under warranty....

This Zune is like an ipod, but undercover with a different name. Featuring high capacities of music storage, this gadget will be mroe than enough for all your music needs, and then some! Not only does it store music, but pictures as well! This is very similar to the iPod, except the fact that it is cheap and much more affordable than the iPod. 8GB is probably ~70 dollars, versus the 8GB iPod which goes around 100-150 dollars. Very good deal, and a very good MP3 Player to use. Overall, if you're looking for an mp3 player that does it all for a cheap, affordable price, the Zune will fit your needs perfectly....

I just got the Zune for my birthday. I am in love with it. It is my favorite thing ever. I have never been able to put so much music on an MP3 player. Now I can have every song I love at my fingertips. This device goes with me everywhere I go. All my friends are jealous....

THE ZHUNE IS A GREAT MEDIA PLAYER , ESPECIALLY FOR TE PRICE. IT IS BASICALLY A LOWER ED MODEL OF TEH IPODK BIT STILL VERY IMPRESSIVE.
