When we were offered a set of Mega Blocks last year for Christmas, when my son was 18 months old, I thought, "Why not?" I mean, they were free. I didn't see what use we would make of them, though. I thought they went together too easily, weren't durable, etc.

One year later, and these blocks are among my 30 month old son's favorite toys. He can unzip the bag, get them out, and build towers all by himself. He hasn't outgrown them because now he is trying to figure out how to build towers that don't fall over. He's decided that the bigger pieces have to be on the bottom. He even builds toy airplanes with his baby sitter and they fly them around the room. Of course, nothing is quite as much fun as building up a tower and knocking it down, right?

On the parent-plus side, the pieces are big enough to not get lost easily, and they are sturdy enough to last for years. Honest. Our set belonged to a boy that is 15 now. We haven't found a way to break one yet.

I was so excited to find the bag of Mega Bloks 80-piece maxi bag at a consignment sale. All the blocks were in the bag, including a couple of blok people and with the zippered bag for storage plus sale price it was a great deal and a toy that we looked forward to having lots of fun with.

The Mega Bloks 80-piece maxi bag contains 80 primary colored block that are similar in nature to Lego's. There are also a couple of rings and block people to add to the variety. The pieces come in different sizes from a one link block to larger sizes. Each of them are square or rectangular shapes depending on the number of "links" to each block.

I was disappointed with the Mega Bloks 80-piece maxi bag. The children- not even during a playdate when there are more children in my house than my two young ones- are even remotely interested in the Mega Bloks 80-piece maxi bag set. I set the bag out thinking the children will be interested in building and only on the rare occasion does the...

My nephew plays with these building blocks ALL the time. They are so easy for him to put together and make something out of. He loves them. although he really loves throwing them which really hurts if he's throwing them at someone. There is a varity of colors so he learns his colors well with these blocks. I believe it is very important for toddlers to learn how objects connect , counting blocks and distinguising colors. These blocks are large and there is a good amount of each color, enough to build a good size toy building. I think any child can play with these blocks since they are to big to be a chocking hazard and are fun with even people my age, sadly. The blocks are really easy to find also, just in case the child hides them somewhere, you will probably find them everywhere. Also our puppy loves to chew on the blocks so not only kid toys but also puppy toys. Some are small enough for him to chew on.

Mega blocks are the greatest. They are colorful, and big enough for a 2 year old. I don't have to worry about him chocking on them. I just love them!!! They keep kids busy for hours. They can build many things. And if you lose any pieces they are very easy to find. I would recommend them to anyone with kids.

Mega Blocks

My son received several large packages of Mega Blocks for Christmas. He is only two and they are for 3 and up but he has a great time playing with them and has been able to figure out how they work. Mostly he enjoys when we put them together for him and he gets to take them apart so they could easily be used by a younger child. Just be sure to supervise a younger child because there are a few pieces that are small enough to fit inside their mouth and act as a choking hazard.

The blocks resemble large Lego’s. The sets he received had additional pieces that were not just block shaped but also flower shaped and cone shaped to add variety to playing. All sets are different and contain a variety of pieces so each set is not positive to contain the same pieces.

You get many of blocks per set in a variety of colors and shapes. You can buy multiple sets and they are interchangable like Legos.

My son is now almost three. He's had the Mega Blocks for a year, since last Christmas. He really loves them, at the stack and sort stage.

I find there aren't really enough in one pack to really do much more than stack. So this is great for him now but I can see problems later. I can't really make to many "things" with the amount of blocks included.

There was also a dispropotionate amount of one color and the single block type of mega block. I think I'll add more to his collection each year, but for now he seems happy to just stack and sort.

I am a nanny caring for two babies. The one year old had started stacking items and learning her colors, etc. I purchased the Mega blocks for her and she loves stacking them together, she is learning her colors, learning to put together and take apart, and will spend over an hour playing with them. they are easy to attach and take apart which is necessary for preschoolers while learning their dexterity.

They are safe and they don't hurt if you step on them (LOL) like the tiny ones do. I like how there are a variety of packages you can purchase. You can add on to your collection with different characters. This is not an individual toy but one several children can play with at the same time.

These are timeless toys that your grandchildren will like to play with. I enjoy sitting with her and playing with her and we laugh and talk about colors and count while playing. This is educational for several reasons including dexterity. This is a 'must' for every parent. They are durable and easy to...

My kids really like these blocks. They are easy to put together and take apart for kids with little hands. They are also very colorful and have helped my boys in learning their colors. They only draw back is that the blocks do not stay together very well. This was not an issue until my older son wanted to start building more difficult things such as airplanes. Whe he tried to "fly" the planes, they fell apart....

I bought these years ago for my Own kids and then after they were grown gave them away as no longer needed . Well as nature would have it I am now a Grandmother to 5 toddlers and with the birth of my first went out and once again bought these building toys . Everyone of them has had hours of fun and when they outgrow them I am going to keep them for visiting children as my own Mother did . Never to old to learn from our Mothers....

My oldest son recieved these blocks on his first birthday. He is now 4 and brother is 2.

They both still play with them almost everyday in some sort of way.

My grandson is 20 months old and plays with these every day. They are big and easy for little fingers to manipulate. He doesn't get frustrated like some of the other kinds of building blocks. They also can be used on top of the next smaller sized Duplo or Mega blocks....

Awesome toy! My children can play for hours with these legos. Besides the bag of legos they have a whole variety like the wagon of legos, the bull dozer, and the forklift. I was so excited and so were my kids so I bought all three items. Now my kids have the whole collection to play with....
