katlnhat says "This is excellent!" about Medline Bath Bench

This is one of the best things ever invented - pair it with a hand-held shower that attaches right to your own shower head and have a seat and enjoy your shower - without worrying about falling or slipping; maybe even hurting yourself.

I'd recommend this to anyone, old, young, disabled, healthy, it's just that good. I needed something after taking a fall and having a heavy object fall on top of me, which was WHY I fell. As I'm too young for a hip replacement, I use this everytime I take a shower, combined with a hand-held shower head attachment.

It makes taking a shower, non-painful, which is always a good thing and if you know of anyone that's getting out of the hospital, know as well that they'll be very weak for awhile. Great coming-home gift and get one for yourself while you're at it. You won't regret this purchase. We never have, for sure.

...

When I had hip surgery at a young age, it was impossible to take a shower comfortably. This seat was my best friend for about a month and a half and I still use it! I couldn't stand long periods of time and this is a convenient way to shower without actually sitting on the ground. I can see why many elderly people would use this and I am thankful it was so light and easy to move. No instillations needed and you can easily use it as needed. Great device and very secure. You'll never need to worry about it slipping!
...

pick-ee says "My amputee mother has used it for years." about Medline Bath Bench

Since the early 80s, after my mother has lost her leg above the knee, this is the only bench style that she would use. It is convienent, and it doesn't slip in the shower. The bench makes it easy to slide on and off, and the holes in the seat help keep the water from setting.
I would definately recomend this to all that need assistance in the shower.
...

I recently had back surgery and had to use one of these for awhile. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. It made showering for me so much easier, along with a detachable showerhead. It fit perfectly in the shower and still had lots of room to move around....

To the Point
My mom was operated on in August 2006 in Massachusetts. In Florida she has items that enable her to be as safe as possible. We didn't have anything; however. We went to a store that sold medical devices. (You may be able to find some at Walgreen's.) One item was the Medline Bath Bench. It's great in the short term but for long term use I'd get a different one.

A Closer View

My mom just spent a month with us so the bench came in handy once again. You can buy it and see it at www.amazon.com/Medline-Bath-Bench-without-Back/dp/B0007VNZUE/ref=pd_sbs_hpc_title_1.

This has a grey seat and no back. That's why I said it's great in the short term. If my mom were using this all the time then one with a back would be a better purchase. This will run you in the $35 vicinity.

It has some great features.

The seat is textured so it isn't slippery when wet.

It has holes in the seat for drainage.

The legs are angled for stability.

The bottom of the legs have rubber foot pads that keep the bench...

...
