jasyjen says "Erase a small scar with Mederma" about Mederma Skin Care for Scars

I have two very active boys, and one of them is always hurting themselves. I learned early on that would have to deal with would be scars on their bodies. But on their faces? No way! When my youngest son, Dillon, received a pretty bad gash just above his eyebrow, I could tell it was going to scar. Not my baby!

A friend told me about Mederma and how it works to reduce the appearance of scars. I was impressed with it as soon as she told me she used it after surgery, to erase the scaring left at Lithroscopic surgery. I headed out immediately in search of this miracle cream.

I found Mederma at my local Kmart, and WOAH! This stuff is expensive! I think I paid about $ 13.00 for a small tube of Merderma! Although it was pricey, I paid the price because I'd heard from my friend how well it works. They make a Mederma for kids, but I bought the regular tube because I figure it's something we'll all need at some point.

I waited for my son's gash to completely heal and then...
...

smw013 says "Mederma is good for very small scars." about Mederma Skin Care for Scars

Well, I bought Mederma because I had a really bad pimple on my face that I was sure was going to leave a nasty scar. I bought it at Wal-mart, and I believe it was around 15 dollars. Which, I thought was expensive. But the commercials are so positive that I thought I would give it a try. I have various other scars, including stretch marks, that I thought I would try it on.

First of all, according to the instructions, you are supposed to apply Mederma twice to three time daily. To me, that's pretty hard to do. It's hard to remember to do. That was a negative. The smell also, I don't find pleasant. But, It does dry quickly, and it is not sticky, that was a positive.

Well, I tried my best to apply twice a day. I can't say that I always adhered to the twice a day instructions though. But, I have to say that it did erase the pimple scar. It looks great. It did absolutely NOTHING for my old scars. Nothing. For new, small scars, I think it worked well. But I would not recommend it for old scars....
...

I had a rather serious burn caused by dropping a curling iron and having it land on my breast. I visited my Dr. because I was concerned that I may have a visible and permanent scar. He recommended that I try Mederma after the burn scabbed over. I did just that, and to this day have no visible mark of what would have been an ugly burn mark. I would highly recommend this product for anyone concerned about visible scars....

fmlygrl says "Almost Scar-less" about Mederma Skin Care for Scars

Recently, we went sledding at a local popular spot. The snow had started to melt some and had turned into crunchy snow. So going down the steep hill on his sled, my son fell out scraping his face on the snow/ice. It wasn't pretty. He ended up with a few scars on his face....to me that is one of the worst places to have a scar. I decided that I needed to try this product, after seeing a commercial on tv for it. Let me tell you he is almost scar-less. Love this stuff. He could have ended up with a nasty mark on his face, instead he is nearly perfect. I have since used it on an older scar and it looks 90% better. I would definately recommend using this product. It can only make it better not worse, right?!?...

I used to make fun of the low budget commercial, but there came a time when I needed to buy Mederma for my 2 year old son who got a nasty cut on his nose. He is almost 4 now and you can't see ANY scarring. I highly recommend this product - it REALLY works!...

Hieran says "To fade a serious scar, this gel is well worth the price." about Mederma Skin Care for Scars

I was first introduced to Mederma by a dermatologist many years ago before it was over-the-counter. He gave me a sample tube after he removed a mole and a large amount of the skin around it, leaving a pretty big scar on my arm. I was immediately impressed by how good the product smells -- it's not a strong or flowery scent at all, but a light, clean scent. The gel is also very silky and non-greasy. But the most important thing about Mederma is that it works. I used it according to directions, and the scar faded beautifully. It didn't completely disappear, but it ended up very soft and very faint.

Two years later I had a total knee replacement. By this time, Mederma was sold over the counter, and it is fairly expensive. But I did not hesitate to buy a tube. I got so many recommendations from different people about what to use on my knee scar, but I used only the Mederma. I could not be happier with the results.
...
