saundersceo says "This Maytag is a cooks dream but a cleaners nightmare" about Maytag oven - Double cooktop

We purchased this Maytag double oven gas stove to satisfy my desire to have a commercial like stove without the commercial price! The stove is wonderful in that it has 5 burners instead of the usual 4. The two ovens also provide the ability to cook several thins at once (think Thanksgiving!). The burner contols are located on the top of the stove not on the front which is nice if you have small children so you don't have to worry about them accidentally turning on the gas burners. The top oven is small, you can fit in one cookie sheet, but I have found that the height of that oven leaves much to be desired. I have several times had to turn on the bottom stove because my small corning ware dish was too tall for that top oven. The bottom oven is roomy, but needs a slide out rack. The biggest complaint is that the burner areas are a nightmare to clean. You have to remove the large grate covers and the burner area is not flat, so it takes quite a while to clean. Otherwise...
...

BB10 says "Let the Buyer Beware" about Maytag oven - Double cooktop

The oven itself is pretty good. It's definitely very handy to have two separate ovens, where you can cook twice as much stuff. It's great in the summer, because you don't have to heat up a giant oven and make the whole kitchen hot.

My big problem is with Maytag. After about 2 weeks of using the oven, the glass in the top oven scattered. I had just finished cooking something, and had taken it out. The glass all of a sudden shattered. It took a million phone calls and about a month for the geniuses at Maytag to get someone to my house to fix it. I don't know which is worse, the fact that the glass broke, or that it took over a month to fix it.

Let the Buyer Beware!!
...

I bought my Maytag double oven in March. I have the gas model. I have used all 5 burners with great results. I have used both ovens at the same temperature an at different temperatures. Food is cooked evenly and beautifully! My only complaint is that I can't hang a kitchen towel on the oven door because it gets caught in the bottom oven. ...

lovetocooknow says "I LOVE MY MAYTAG DOUBLE OVEN GAS RANGE AND 5 BURNERS...HEAVEN!" about Maytag oven - Double cooktop

I couldn't be happier with my Maytag double oven gas range. I use the top smaller oven most of the time so I know I'm saving money not having to use a larger oven. Very convenient when you need both ovens for larger meals. The touch pad control is very simple to use as well. Having 5 burners on the range makes me feel like a gourmet chef. I have found that the stove burners discolor easily but are removable and can be cleaned best with mild dish soap and a scrubby or magic eraser. I show it off to everyone and would recommend this range very highly...extremely happy I purchased it.
...

eeyoreswife says "This appliance is a great tool for the home entertainer." about Maytag oven - Double cooktop

This appliance is great for large families or home entertainers. Dinner and dessert can be cooked at the same time, but use caution. The top oven gets extra hot when used at the same time as the bottom. Features are easy to set and use, but it can be awkward getting food out of bottom oven. I have burned myself several times....

When redoing our kitchen, we bought a Maytag oven with a glass cooktop and two ovens, one large, one small.

It's been wonderful being able to put something in the oven at two different temperatures.

I love not having to worry about cleaning up splatter on the surface of the cooktop, as compared to keeping the top of my old stove clean.
...
