I purchased an HE top loader Maytag washer three months ago and am so very, very happy with it after my experience with a GE front loader machine. The first thing that I noticed after the Maytag was hooked up and ready to use for washing our backed up laundry was the amount of lint in the tray from the dryer when the first load was done. The clothes also smelled fresh and clean. My GE front load washer was only one and a half years old and nothing but a problem from break downs and a money drainer. But as soon as I used the Maytag, I realized I was not even getting the clothes clean when the GE front loader was operating. I know feel good that I am helping the environment by saving water but Ialso know my clothes are clean. The second reason I like the Maytag is that it is a top loader. The front loader had breakdowns two times and the water spilled out on the hardwood floor in the hallway where the laundry area is. The front door seal was not dependable. I will totally...
...

The Maytag man is still idle! My mother owned a Maytag wringer washer, which I used by the age of eight to do the family laundry. So, Maytag was/is user friendly! I don't remember the Maytag of my mother ever needing service, except for daddy's oil can a place or two. She had it from the time I can remember till 1965. That's right...no automatic until 1965. I was born in 1945, so do the math. My first machine as a newlywed was a maytag wringer type as well. My first automatic Maytag washer and dryer pair were purchased in 1972. I cannot tell you how many years it lasted. Speaking of user friendly...I once replaced the timer (about 25 color coded wires) myself...one wire at a time. I am now 64 years old. I live in a two bedroom apartment and do all my own home laundry...anything that will fit in my large capacity Maytag set. This is the second set I have ever owned. That's right...1972-?? and ??-2009...two pairs of Maytag laundry equipment! The Maytag man is...
...

I have a Maytag washer, I purchased 3 years ago, a set (pricey) and has been repaired 2 times going on it's 3rd repair. I will NEVER purchase Maytag again. It frequently becomes off balance and it does not wash your white clothes white. I had always heard about Maytag's being great and was excited about getting one. I am now looking for a new washing machine after coming home from a trip and put the first load of clothes in, to a new problem. My floor covered in water leaking from the Maytag machine. The dryer on the other hand works great! I think I will go back to Whirlpool, I had my old one for over 17 years and it worked great.
...

brit44 says "Best washer ever...and saves us money because its an energy star" about Maytag Washer - Top Load

Well since me and my boyfriend just bought our first house.... we had to buy everything since we had both lived with our parents. We also have a 2 year old daughter and we just knew we had to get a good washing machine. Now that she 2 and moving around more and doing more her clothes are always dirty.

We also got a king size bed and i wanted a washing machine that would be able to hold a king size comforter. When we went shopping of course we were on a budget and luckily we found the Maytag's top load washing machine on sale. I talked it over with my boyfriend and said i think this is the one i want.

I said not only is it a top load which I wanted, its an energy star, right in our price range, its also big enough to put our king size comforter in.

When i do my laundry now i have less loads to do since the washer holds so much more. I can do 16 towels and wash cloths in one load. WOW. Not all machines can do that. I definitly give this product a 2 thumbs up.
...

My first MAYTAG WASHING was purcahsed in 1971 when my son was born. I had a MAYTAG WRINGER ... ahhh good old days ... but got tired of it crushing the snaps on my new son's clothes. MAYTAG - home of the lonely repair man. THIS HE WAS. I do not think in the many years I had this ... He was 28 when I got rid of it as it finally died!! ... I had it serviced more than 3 times. Each time something small. So - I purchsed a new one. This one was made of PLASTIC PARTS - Junk. In the 4 years I had it I had numerous S/C on it. I got tired of if all and got a front loading LG. I wonder where the quality of MAYTAG went .??? Who owns it?? I do know it is not the SAME MAYTAG IT USE TO BE !!
...

My husband researched machines and decided on Maytag for quality 26 years ago. Even though they weren't leaking, we have only replaced the hoses with metal-wrapped hoses for safety's sake. Top loading is my preference since you can always stop the action and change conditions, either temperature, clothes or size of wash; I save water in many other ways to offset the side-loading premise of "green" machines.
...
