We purchased the stainless steel tub version of the Maytag Quiet Series 300 based on recommendations of sales people and the Maytag name. What a mistake! We have owned this dishwasher for 3 years now and have had it repaired numerous times. The first was the replacement of the control panel (at the expense of the manufactur) Unfortunately it was Christmas time and the repair people were unable to come out for 3 weeks (then we waited 2 weeks for the part!) Yes, Christmas parties at my house and no dishwasher!!! Since then we have replaced the untensil basket twice (the bottom breaks out) and have replaced every roller (2 on top and 2 on the bottom) twice do to breakage. Each time requires a wait (and no dishwasher) for the parts. We have also replaced the end pieces (keeps the rack on the arms). Worthless applicance!!! Each time a part breaks, it is $7 - $10 which may not seem like a lot but I rarely go more than 2 months without replacing something! Would NOT...
...

My husband and I purchased the Maytag Quiet Series 300 in 2003. I was replacing a 1980's Magic Chef unit that came with our house. That old Magic Chef was so powerful that it blew the etching off some of my glassware.

Within the first 2 years we had this unit, the soap dispenser door broke, the control panel was replaced and the door handle broke twice. Just recently, even after we were told the door handle was "improved" with metal reinforcements, it has broken again and so has the soap dispenser door.

I love the delay start this unit offers. It is convienient that we can run it at night when we are asleep. However, I do not feel that this unit cleans the dishes as well as I expected. It seems to not be able to remove small pieces of lettuce that may stick on a salad bowl or even a piece of shredded cheese. It just seems to melt the cheese to the container and dries the lettuce to the bowl.

Sometimes, it makes me feel like I should have kept that old Magic Chef. I...
...

LisaWinfordSchmitz says "Only buy this dishwasher if you want to hand wash the dishes 1st" about Maytag Quiet Series 300

I thought Maytag was supposed to be the best, so when our builder supplied dishwasher quit working, my husband purchased this dishwasher. It does a poor job, especially on glasses and flatware. Regardless of what detergent or rinse agent I use, the glasses look terrible and I end up washing them two, three times. I usually put them on the bottom rack because they seem to do a little better there. I am completely disappointed with this dishwasher and will never buy a Maytag appliance again. The Maytag commercials are such a joke! Avoid this dishwasher unless you want to basically wash the dishes by hand before you load your dishwasher. That is what I end up doing.
...

hk3070 says "Tragic ending to a promising beginning" about Maytag Quiet Series 300

Purchased this machine from Lowe's as a clearance. It did have nice features and it worked great for the first year. The brackets for the folding rack broke and pieces got logded down in the washing unit. It was an experience to get the pieces out and then the Maytag customer service was definately less than good. The first customer service rep was not very enthusiastc and reluctantly helpful, but we did find a replacement part.

After ordering it, I shopped around and found the same part much cheaper. The bad thing is the part was not complete the attachment bracket for the folding tines was not there which is what actually broke. Called the Maytag support again and the rep had to go to an outside website to even find the part. He did send me a part for free but I had already spent $30 bucks on a new set of folding tines when the replacement part/folding tine bracket was $4.95.

I also informed the reps that their part diagrams/listings were not accurate because of what they shipped...
...

Maytag Quiet Series 300

I recently bought this from a Sears Store Close out sale. The install was easy, however the Sanitize and Clean light stay on. I don't know if this is normal or not. It seemed to clean well. I will review again in a year. I did get the 3 year warrenty, although I hope I never have to use it. I have owned a Maytag Washer, Dryer, and Fridge with good results. I will see how this machine holds up after a few years. I hope I have better luck than others have. Will keep you posted. I do have to say the install instructions are hard to understand. The pictures don't seem to match the machine very well, but if you have any ability at all you can install this machine easy. I will also say this machine runs for a LLLOONNNGG TTIIMMEE. It doesn't seem to have a short cycle. I read in the owners manual that it will heat the water to a certain temp. and that because of the temp. raise of the water it may run longer, but I think it runs to long. I don't think...
...

jthomas2243 says "Killing the Maytag reputation" about Maytag Quiet Series 300

We're having what seems to be a too-common problem. Electronic control panel stopped working. Repair man warns that it's a hard part to get. He tweaks and tries to get it going. It runs for a while and dies again. The part is on order ... days are passing. I checked the Internet. This is a common problem. We bought a Maytag for reliability. It has never dones as good a job as we would like, but we thought it was good enough. Now we wish we had not bought it. Won't buy Maytag again.
...

Maytag quiet Series 300.

Worst dish sanitizer I've ever owned.

Can't call it a dishwasher because the dishes come out dirty. It does get the dishes hot so I hope that the tiny food particles left on the dishes are at least sanitized.

Have had less than a year and the handle has broken off. But still works.

If you care about getting your dishes clean, Go ahead and spend the extra money on a better brand.
...

First of all I would just like to say I am so thankful to have a dishwasher! I wish my kids would realize how lucky they are and how easy they have it! I love the look and performance of my Frigidaire 300 series Dishwasher. The only problem I could day I have with it would be the sound level at which it runs. Our kitchen is near the living room and when the dishwasher is running, I actually have to turn up the volume on the television! It still is quieter than my four grumbling children!!!
...

Pranabarlover says "How quiet is quiet with a Maytag?" about Maytag Quiet Series 300

This dishwasher is ok, I guess. We were looking for the quietest dishwasher on the market that we could afford, and this is it. As I am doing this review, I can hear my dishwasher running. But how quiet should one expect a dishwasher to be? This Maytag Quiet Series 300 was advertised to be the quietest, but it has not proven to be so. The door opens to the floor almost, breaks your back to load it and unload it, and it will not wash peanut butter off of anything unless I run the thing on normal cycle. It seems to go on and on and on before it stops too. I have really hot water, and I wash on sanitize cycle. I don't think there is an ideal dishwasher out there, is there?...
