Huntcho says "Maytag ICE is not what I wanted" about Maytag ICE20

I am not totally happy with my Maytage ICE20.. It is not big enough for what I normally like to keep in my refrigerator and the freezer is too small to keep essentials that I like to keep handy in my freezer. I do have a freezer in the garage that holds more but it is not as convenient to look for things. I do like the Ice and water dispenser. It really keeps up with demand around here. The refrigerator was already in our new home when we moved in so we didn't get to choose.
...

bamatoni says "Even better than I had expected!" about Maytag ICE20

The first time I saw the Maytag ICE20 advertised, I began to covet it and when I actually saw it in person....I fell in love. However, like many of my obsessions, it was too pricey for my budget. I will admit that I prayed that my old Kenmore (came with the house) would die at an opportune time but to no avail. I took advantage of the first wheeze of this dinosaur to begin looking for his replacement. So, one day, I set out ogling at our local Scratch and Dent depot. There, hidden inconspicuously in a back room, was my soulmate! A vision in shiny black, he stood 70 1/8" tall with shoulders 35 5/8 " and a very solid torso of 35 1/4". Truth be told, his small scars and tats didn't matter once he showed me his features of in the door storage for beer or soda cans, his wide drawer good enough for deli platters for this entertaining woman, or his deep pockets ready for leftovers, future meals or even ice cream birthday cakes! Totally able to speak to me electronically by means of lights...
...

We have had this fridge for about 2 years and we are so glad we went with this model. The milk compartment hold 2 gallons of milk and the freezer blows cold air into it to keep it ice cold. The deli tray is perfect for holding pizza and just about anything you can think of. The ice and water is a life saver having 3 kids. We're very pleased with this fridge.
...

We recently acquired a new Maytag refrigerator ... our old refrigerator was 20 years old. The open-out doors are a wonderful addition to a refrigerator, especially when one remembers where something is stored and can open that side only to reach in. There is one slight annoyance with the doors, though ... they swing open and back too quickly and then ricochet on their hinges, rattling everthing in the door shelves. I am afraid that all-too-soon the hinges may break. The ice-making machine is a real treat ... no more little trays that become stuck to everything else in the freezer. There is plenty of storage room for all shapes and sizes and the fruit, vegetable, cheese and deli drawers are deep and allow for neat storage and easy access. The crowning pleasure of this refrigerator is its energy efficiency ... cutting costs and reducing the drain on our energy resources. Bravo! ...

field948 says "This is the best refrigerator I have ever used." about Maytag ICE20

This is the best refrigerator I have ever used. It is not a side-by-side, which I don't like because the freezer is too narrow. I could never fit items like ice cream cakes in my old refrigerator. I actually had to borrow a neighbors. I do keep lots of frozen items, so I need a decent sized freezer, but I do not open the freezer that often. For this reason, I like that the freezer is on the bottom. The refrigerator area is on top at eye level. Also, my boyfriend is very tall, so it is easier for him to find everything since he doesn't have to bend way over. I also love being able to get water and ice out of the door without opening the refrigerator. It conserves energy and the light doesn't blind me when I get up for a drink in the middle of the night.
...

I absolutely LOVE this refrigerator!! It looks very classy, and the freezer compartment has room for so many things-frozen pizzas, ice cream, frozen fish, vegetables, fruit, you name it! The black tray comes off easily so it is easy to clean. This fridge will even beep if you don't close the doors right-so it saves you money when the electric bill comes around. LOVe this fridge!...

DebbyR says "Lots of room with easy access" about Maytag ICE20

I love this refrigerator. The double french doors on top give you lots of options for putting things together that you use together so that you only have to open one door at a time. My only complaint is that the icemaker is small so it keeps up with two of us but I don't think it could keep up with a family. Also, within a year the electronics went bad and the icemaker kept opening and shutting the release so it was so aggravating! We had to push a towel in it to keep it from making noise till we could get it fixed. The repair was almost $500 but Maytag made a concession since we had the refrigerator so such a short time and then we bought an extended warranty in case it happens again.

It also has a great pull out drawer in the refrigerator that will fit a full tray for when you are having a party.

The freezer has sliding drawers which makes it pretty easy to fill. Like most freezers, it is easy to loose things on the bottom but I love this pull out freezer so much more than I...
...

This appliance helps to keep me organized. There is a separate compartment for just about everything (soda, yogurt, meat, cheese, vegetables etc. The door shelf is large and strong enough to hold a gallon milk jug with room left over. It may even hold 2. I love having filtered water without annoying things attached to my kitchen sink, and it is great to have ice available at all times. The "door open" alarm has saved me more than a few times....

This is a great concept with 2 doors on top and a pull out drawer on the bottom! Lots of storage room.

In reality you have to open both doors to access some of the storage drawers which is inconvenient. The in-door storage for gallons of milk is very handy. The outside information panel is great and the door alarm is a good feature.

The biggest complaint is that the ice maker is very noisy and doesn't store much ice. It jams frequently compared to my previous icemaker. This is an area that needs a lot of improvement.
...
