mommaSCOOTSIE says "There is nothing about this product that I like." about Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation

I have written many product reviews, and I have never had absolutely nothing nice to say. Until now. I hate this foundation. It is probably the worst I have ever used.

It claims to be made of 100% pure minerals. I don't know, but I never break out. This stuff made me break out terribly on my chin after the first use. It looks oily and nasty. Like a shiny mask. The colors are way darker than they look in the bottle. The foundation has a very bad odor. I would compare it to rubbing diarrhea on your face. It's scent is acidic and very chemical. I could smell my face for the entire day. It was disgusting.

Throughout the day it melted off pretty bad and left me with an extremely obvious makeup line. One it began to melt it caused a stinging sensation and a little bit of redness.

I used it for a total of maybe five times. Every single time I used it I woke up with pimples on my chin the following day.

I do not recommend this foundation.
...

Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation is perfect for the women that wants a light foundation. It gives you a decent amount of coverage for the thickness of the product. Being a mineral foundation it makes my skin feel super smooth after it is applied and my skin feels like it can breath. It comes in a nice selection of tones also so finding your shade should be fairly easy. I have been using this product for approximately one year. I actually tried Maybelline's new 12 hr foundation and it was really thick.
...

Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation makeup (liquid) is one of the best that I have ever used. I actually picked this up at Walgreens after standing in front of the 100 brands that they carry, trying to choose which would look good on my skin. I know I stood there for about 30 minutes because I was afraid that I would choose the wrong color/brand as usual. But, this one time, I did it right. Color, everything. I think the fact that I had heard so much about Mineral makeup helped me to choose the type. My skin is light/medium brown, so I chose the Caramel color, which was/is perfect for me. That was about a year ago, and this is the only brand that I buy. It goes on very light, absorbs/blends well, and looks good all day long. A girl cannot ask for anything more than that. the only thing is that the bottle is a little small, but I like it because it is a squeeze bottle which allows you to get down to the last drop. It has lasted me for quite a while.
...

Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation is a winner for me.

I purchased mine about 6 months ago, when a local drugstore had it for $8.99, with a cash register coupon back for $8.99 to use in the store.

From opening the bottle and applying a little of the liquid foundation to the back of my hand, I was impressed with this product. It is not at all heavy, and blends so well into the skin. The hand test almost covered up some dark age spots, which pleased me.

When I applied it to my face it was almost sheer, I only needed a tiny amount, and I looked natural. I could hardly see the age spots on my face. It also helped to cover up the lines under my eyes.

I normally only wear foundation in the evenings when I go dancing, but Maybelline have SPF18 sunscreen in their foundation, so I will be happy to wear it anytime of the day or night. Living in Florida this is so important for me.

Final thoughts.

My makeup lasted all the time I was out. The only flaw I found...
...

I have tried many different foundations in my years and many have worked just fine for me but then I moved here to Phoenix and I was having a hard time with the heat and keeping my make up on. One day I was given a sample of Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation and I noticed right off how nice it felt on my skin. It didn't feel as though I was coated with creams. I went the following day and bought myself some Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation in the color that actually matched my skin color and was hooked. It is wonderful for here in the desert because it is so breathable. I get great coverage with it and then after I apply it I use the powder finish and the coverage is flawless and my skin has never looked so good and the best part is even with the heat I don't feel as though I am melting away like I do when I used those other heavier foundations and the coverage lasts throughout the day and if I need a little pick me up I can always...
...

I was really a little suprised by the reviews here, because I really do like how this foundation goes on and stays on my skin. I also like the actual powder, but it's so messy to work with I thought I might like a liquid better. My consensus is that I like them both about equally. I'm a middle-aged woman so this is a foundation that might just work a little better on older skin. And that's just a guess.

I especially love how not-greasy this foundation feels going on.
...

jasyjen says ""Melted" off, and why do they call it mineral?" about Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation

Thank goodness I didn't pay to try this foundation out. I received a free sample, so I tried it on a Sunday morning. I would NEVER buy this stuff! Why do they call it mineral foundation anyway? It's regular foundation, and not a good one at that.

I have a really uneven skin tone, so I need a foundation to even things out for me. This foundation did NOT do that at all. It had a watery consistency, and although it went on smoothly, it didn't even things out at all. Also, it melted off when I started doing housework! The last thing a girl needs is to have her face slide off when she gets active!

I'll stick to my normal brand, and leave this stuff to the girl's that don't need a lot of coverage. It may actually work for them.
...

When they brought out so many brands with the word mineral in it, I wanted to try some to see if they were better. I had high hopes for this one but didn't care for it. It was easy to use but I didn't feel I obtained the coverage I wanted. I'm used to using a foundation & then pressed powder....old habits are hard to break, I guess....

Quick View: Technology meets minerals. This is NOT pure mineral makeup but it does omit some yucky ingredients and is healthier for your skin than run of the mill make up. I like it. I don't LOVE it, but I like it.

About Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Foundation

I was shopping at Rite Aid with my sister and saw the whole line of Maybelline Mineral Powder make up and it was on sale for buy one, get one free! By the time I left the store, I had the entire line in my bag (with the receipt of course!). The foundation, in particular, looked like the perfect solution for my dry skin. Mineral make up in a liquid form! But what I didn't realize until I got home was that this make up is NOT pure minerals. It is a combination of minerals and regular chemical stuff. Still, it has less yucky stuff in it than other foundations.

Maybelline touts this foundation this way:

Only our formula combines micro-minerals with a liquid in a lightweight texture for a healthier, more natural finish
• Naturally......
