Have you ever tried to buy a "Penthouse" or "Hustler" magazine at a mini-mart? This is, in itself, a work of art. First you must make sure that there are no women in the mini-mart so you don't look like a creepy porn fiend. Then you must be certain no one from work or your church is in the place. Next you must browse the mini-mart like you're casing the joint until absolutely no one is at the counter. Then, and only then, are you aloud to race forward and make your purchase after which you are required to leave the mini-mart quickly without making any eye contact.

This is the reason why men love "Maxim" magazine so much. You can buy "Maxim" anywhere with very little social brow beating involved in the process. Barnes & Nobles, Borders, the Gift Shop at the Hospital, they all sell "Maxim" without a single thought of social destruction or self abuse associated with "those other" magazines. So guys can strut into any of these places and chuck down some change for what is basically a soft porn......

I received Maxim for a long time, but found time wasn't on my side to read them. I really did enjoy the articles that were published in the magazine. The images where always tasteful and not trashy. So it was okay for a woman to read them without being disgusted by the tastelessness. I loved the reviews of gadgets within the magazine. They were always on-top of the newest products and very detailed about what they were capable of and the price. They always contained a wide variety of articles and topics. They never stuck to one type of guy when offering entertainment. It was great for the gamer, jock, and the average guy. ...

I started getting Maxim about 18 months ago but not sure how, they send it yet I never get a bill. I like free stuff and this was no exception at first, as there were many articles that I liked reading. Sure they have pretty girls in it with very little clothing on but I really liked reading the articles they used to have. That's what made Maxim stand out for me but alas times change and so did Maxim.

About 12 months ago the format changed, yep like most magazines they were not happy with it so they changed it around. I still see the nearly naked women (done tastefully of course) but gone are some of the features I liked best. They used to have short articles, snippets if you will of state laws and humorous stories about them. That's now gone and they also upped the amount of advertisements in it.

I get sick of seeing the "Male Enhancement" advertisements splattered all over it now. Sure it's a magazine for men but enough is enough! When these multiplied the good articles shrank to near nothing.......

My husband received a subscription to Maxim years ago from a friend and we just keep on resubscribing. I get a ton of magazines for myself and when Maxim started arriving I thought it was nice that there was a magazine just for him that wasn't always centered around sports. Don't get me wrong, we LOVE sports. We named our dogs Shula and Marino. I'm sure you can guess after which team, right?

I thought my husband would enjoy reading the magazine and I could overlook the scantly clad women gracing the pages. The first issues arrived and after looking through it my husband left it on the coffee table. So I picked it up and decided to flip through and see if there were any interesting articles. After reading the thing practically cover to cover I was hooked. I think I actually read the magazine before my husband does now.

Of course they have the beautiful girls in lingerie and bikinis and there is a men's shopping section instead of a women's but they also have some great articles on everything...

Maxim is a good magzine because they really know how to write about interesting things and gadgets. They could use a few more pages of pictures of hot girls....

This magazine was once great. It had funny jokes and insightful articles now its lackluster. My sister got me a subscripton because she had enjoyed in and we were both dissappointed. I did not renew it the next year either.

ive read maxim magazine since it first came out, and it still keeps me interested. theres something for anybody, and even women have started reading it. they have jokes , stuff about food , hot girls , cars , electronics , they also have funny news from around the world , even interviews. keep rockin maxim...

This is an overall mens magazine. It has everything from workout and health tips. To hot women and anything else you can think of. I contains material on working out, to eating healthy, to how to pick up that hot chick at the bar. I would highly recommend this magazine to anyone who want extra advice on women and health issues....

Beer, Sports, Sex . How can it be said any better than it already has been said. Funny Jokes, Good interviews with awesome people. Cool advertisements. I like the upcoming movie reviews as well as the video game reviews. I also love the amount of total useless knowledge you get from reading Maxim.

I have been a subscriber to maxim magazine for over a year now and i can say i enjoy it every time it comes in the mailbox. It has been a good magazine to read while in the bathroom. The articles are just long enough to read while "doing the deed". I would recommend this to anyone who wants a magazine to read while pooping....

Bottom-Line: Maxim magazine amounts to little more than a shopping catalog with a few journalistically questionable articles, with a plethora of young women posing in soft-soft porn spreads thrown.

Is it me, or has there been a literal explosion of men's magazines in the last five years, all catering to the same subset of men; namely 20 something's whose taste in literature clothes, toys, and women seem the weigh towards the extreme? First there was Maxim (the subject of this review), then FHM, Gear, Stuff (from the publishers of Maxim), and the newest, Blender (also from the publishers of Maxim), which touts itself as "The Ultimate Music Magazine," as if Rolling Stone didn't have that label sown deep into the blood-red letting of its flowing script!

All of these magazines have one thing in common (well okay several), they all feature pictures of the latest "girl thing" on their glossy covers in some skimpy attire and offer the reader a soft, soft porn photo spread of her and others...
