I like the article but i really love what www.mattressqueen.org had to say. I like their strategy of buying a mattress. Dont just get the best mattress out there, get the one that is "best" for you. And that is what I believe in. I always try before buying. Buying a mattress is no different.

On-line mattress reviews, for the most part, are the same as many other on-line reviews. Most satisfied consumers don't feel the need to rave about their experience, while the unsatisfied use forums like this to vent their frustrations. As a veteran in the business, I thought I'd share my experience on a couple of topics. Hopefully it helps those reading and doing their homework on-line!

Warning to those buying pillowtop mattresses. No matter the brand, or the price of the pillow-top mattress you select, there is a high likelihood that the pillow-top mattress will compress between 1/2 and 1 inch within the first 3 months. There can be up to 8 or more layers of foam stacked on top of the innerspring. It is simply going to happen.
Mattresses should not be expected to be a "cure all." Too often, consumers expect a new mattress to alleviate all aches in pains magically. Unfortunately, there are salesmen out there that take advantage of these people to upgrade the $$$$! Let's...

This Mattress is wonderful, exscially if you have a full bed with a husband a two kids that won't sleep in there own bed! It's very affordable and comfrotable. IT's lasted me a long time! I you don't want to make your bed, then don't nobody is making you! Enjoy your bed and relax. It's a comfort zone for relaxation! I take quit a few naps in mine while my kids sleepin beside me. It must be why they sleep in my bed instead of there's they don't have the same mattress as mine. That is a proven fact right there. The kids saying my bed is moe comfy then there's, I guess we will have to buy more of these mattresses for there bed frames. It's nice to know these mattresses are so great. I can't wait until the end of the day to slip into my pj's and just lounge on my comfy mattress. I love to watch television in it too. It dosen't hurt my back at all to be in it. It's so great I hope you all get one..........Oh make sure you get one for the kids to or you will have a full bed!...

The Mattress looks very comfortable. I would love to sleep on a mattress like that some day but I cant afford one right now. this is a great product and you will gets a goods night sleep on it . you should buy the mattress when it is on sale butthe price of the mattress is already a low price and you should enjoy a good night sleep on it. if i had to rate this product i woul dgive it 5 stars maybe 6 because the product is so wounderful....

My husband thought it was silly to lay down on all the beds we were considering to buy. In fact he refused to even try out the beds I had it narrowed down to. He said "it doesnt matter beds are beds" So cost was what mattered to him. Weve had our new mattress set for two years now. It has never been very comfortable to him. And it's starting to get lumpy and the pillow top has squooshed down so we can feel the springs. So you definatley get what you pay for. And remember "If your gonna sleep on it, lay on it first. And more than a minute or two"...

The sterling mattress factory in energy/herrin illinois did outstanding workmanship on my new mattress the royalty euro top. each mattress was made at time of purchase, not something waiting in a warehouse for months gathering all sorts of dustbunnies. the assitance provided to pick one not only good for your pocket book but also if it will support your weight adequately, comfort level, and if there are back troubles that need addressing. Highly recommend them!...

to buy a bed you must do your research. price shop and comfort shop. look the the thickness of the mattress and ask if the bed comes with a non pro rated warranty. try and stay with a brand thta you have heard of, and always ask if they have any models in clearance, you can save a lot of money that way...

We recently bought a new mattress. We tried several "firm" and decided against that. Then we tried "medium" and "soft". Decide which category you want and then concentrate only on that category. Then try two, say firm, eliminate one. Then try another firm and compare again, eliminating one, etc until you have it narrowed down to two or three. Then making the final decision will be easier.

Keep in mind this is a long process. You need to lay on each mattress about 10 minutes in each position you sleep in. You might even want to bring your own pillow. Get comfortable. If you have a partner, make sure you both lay on each mattress together. Do you feel the other person's movements? Does that matter? Ask these and whatever other questions you have.

If the sales person is any good, s/he will leave you to try them out and be around for questions.

sealy posturedic mattress are really comfortable. especially the pillow top. we even bought all of our kids their own. we have now had ours for about 6 years, and it is still as comfy as it was the day we purchased it. We paid $1700 for our Banner pillow top mattress, and have been disappointed at the rapid deterioration of the pillow top and the inability to clean the pillow top well. The pillow top has sagged in spots and has become less than comfortable after only five years of ownership. we woudl definitely not purchase another Banner pillow top bed again....

When shopping for a mattress do your homework before you leave the house. You need to know the difference in how they are made so you know what is should cost you. They will not be as informative in the showrooms as the interenet will be, and its unbiased (mostly). Determine your price range ( size not quality) then look up appox. prices of those sizes. There are 3 different types of mattress really. Coil springs, Foam, and springs that aren't made of coil. Sure there are pillow tops verses non-pillow tops, and there are adjustable beds. Those you can decide when you see them. Some lines make firmer beds (sealy uses a different kind of coil on some) and spring air uses your typical coil spring but is extremly soft, like being on a cloud, I should add more to this later but am being bugged by my child....

Buying a mattress is very important. A good nights sleep affects your entire day. Finding a mattress that meets both partners needs is very difficult. Don't purchase the first thing that seems comfortable. Go to different stores, try out different lines as well as different products in each line. Don't buy for price. That cheap bed could be just as comfortable as the "top of the line" expensive one.
