I joined match.com 2 weeks ago. I decided it wasnt very good so I cancelled my service for the next month. Leaving me with 2 weeks of logging on to the web site. When I tried to log back on I got this message. "OPPS there is a problem with your account. Please contact customer care at 1-800-92 match". Would not let me log back in. When I called they tried to keep my business and told them I am cancelling. They said ok and they would fix the log on problem. Tried logging back in and same message popped up. So I emailed there customer complant department about this problem and said it there would be a response back in 24 hours of course just like I figured, I have not got a response and it has been a week. So I paid for a month of membership and only got 2 weeks. And not even a call or email back to discuss it. So buyer be ware.
...

RemRockversion1 says "Good, but not for everyone" about Match.com

I signed up for match.com quite some time ago and I was hoping to meet that someone special. I think my expectations were too high because the results were not up to my expectations. I met someone, but it turned out to be a one date thing. Most of the members that I either winked at or emailed rarely responded. Most users in my area rarely logged in actively. I renewed my subscription hoping for better results, but still nothing. I think match.com works better if you live in a big city such as Los Angeles or New York because small town women do not seem quite as interested as the big city gals. Match.com is free to join and you can browse through other profiles as well as creating your own. You can even wink at someone who catches your interest, but emailing requires you to subscribe and pay. I would say that match.com is worth the cost if I had better results. I do not want to discourage you from joining even though I was very successful in my attempts in finding "the...
...

I am a middle-aged woman and live in a very large metropolitan area (Chicago). I have been on match.com for about a month and have met a few men who were all very nice. Although there has been no real connection yet, I feel match.com has a very large dating pool and in this way they do deliver. Will I find my match? It remains to be seen. In the meantime, I am enjoying meeting men from all different walks of life who I would have never met if it was not for match.com
...

As everyone that is on the site, I was hoping to find happiness and I decided to sign up for the 6 month deal. I was only on the site for less than 2 days and while on the site saw someone changing all of my account information. I took screen shots of everything as it was happening. Someone who happened to email me the first day also wrote me to notify me my profile looked fishy as well. I checked the "abuse" page and there was no information of what to do in that situation. I reported the issue to their abuse email and didn't hear anything from them for 2 whole days...week days! I then had to do a google search for them because they don't have a support number readily available on their own website.

I was so frustrated that someone was using my account, and personal info for something that could have been more severe identity theft, that I cancelled my account that night. After not hearing anything from the 5 emails I had sent to support I called them, and the woman on...
...

Ok I know this is too funny but I tried this because of Dr. Phil...lol...I still love Dr.Phil, but match.com sucks, that is of course in my opinion. They give you the "6 month" guarentee of finding someone in 6 months or the next 6 months are "free", nope not free, they take it out of your account! I don't know I signed up twice and had no luck. Honestly too expensive for me!...

ycdeb2 says "I met the love of my life thanks to Match.com !!" about Match.com

Thanks to Match.com I met the love of my life!! I was a little skeptical about trying another online dating site when I decided to give Match.com a try. I had tried several of the other online dating sites that claimed to match you with someone based on your compatability. While I met some very nice people and had some nice dates, I didn't find anyone I really clicked with.

I decided to give online dating one last shot with Match.com. The first month I was on the site I met someone that I dated for 3 months and we remain friends to this day. While that relationship didn't work out, the next person I met on Match.com was my boyfriend of 3+ years who is now my fiance. We are planning our wedding for September 2009.

What I really liked about Match.com was the fact that they gave me the ability to choose who I wanted to contact. I could go through their database and pick men who had similar interests and backgrounds and goals in life to mine.

I used Match.com for 3 months. I met some great guys on the site but also had some really bad dates. I had a date set up with one guy and at the last minute, I got my hands on 50 free concert tickets from a local venue for the night of our date. I called him and offered to take him and 9 friends to the concert and I contacted 9 of my friends to go. He stated he didn't have any friends who wanted to go to a concert at the last minute. I laughed and told him this was a chance of a life time and that I planned to go and maybe we should reschedule our date. He then said he'd go but didn't have any friends to give the 9 tickets to. I was stunned but we went anyway. He turned out to be a jerk and walked out of the concert half way through it because I had to call security on him. He was controlling and a real creep. Other than that, I had some great dates but did not find my true love.
...

naturegrrl says "match.com matched me perfectly!!" about Match.com

I decided to try match.com after my relationship ended. I lived out in the country in Kentucky and didn't feel the local guys were very interesting. I had lived in Oregon the previous 13 years and moving home made me feel very much a fish out of water. I missed Oregon and felt that I'd have much better luck finding a like-minded mate out there. So I did my profile and was very honest. I knew exactly what I was looking for and I didn't care if I didn't catch many men's interest. I figured I had nothing to lose. I was happy single, but I had hope that there was a man out there who really fit me.

The first profile that came up in my first search was Duncan. I waited for the inevitable mismatches to appear as I scanned it..and I got to the end. I thought, I must have missed something. But no, I loved everythign he said. Then I saw his picture and thought - Wow! So I emailed him. I told him I lived pretty far away but to please bear with me as I described how I'd lived in Oregon for many years...
...

I met my boyfriend about 3 years ago on Match, so I'd say it's a good way to go. Online dating is not for everyone, but if you're going to use one of the sites, Match is as good as any. I know people who met on Yahoo, Eharmony, and other sites, but Match gives you a good couple days free trial to check things out. Beware their "if you don't find someone in 6 months, you'll get 6 months free" deal. Turns out you have to be super active and contacting a lot of people to qualify for that offer. I'm not one to contact people I'm only luke-warm about, so the offer is not so great.
...

zitiboat says "match.com is the "G" rated family version for serious dating." about Match.com

Match.com costs a bit more than you would expect an online service to, but delivers a service almost equal to an office environment proffesional matchmaking company.
I have used several and can compare easily.
It is NOT a hookup for one nighters place. Use the XXX rated thinly disguised escort services for that.
The people are real and have gone to some trouble to participate, showing that they are serious.
It is still very easy to dismiss or reject based solely on first impressions which is unfortunate for those who do not communicate in written form all that well.
It is by far the most used and most recognised site giving plenty of matches for just about anybody. The terms of service let you post your profile and wait for someone to initiate contact or get proactive and take control of your level of use. I use it as a backup plan for the other sites I am registered on.

The ease of blocking individuals or restricting searches to clearly defined choices makes it a good option for different people.......

Match.com was my 'match maker' for about 16 months. I met many wonderful men and Starbucks was the favorite meeting place. Unfortunately, many men used VERY old photos and it was disappointing to meet 'some' duds. Most of the men were serious about finding someone special and I actually had three different proposals but the men were NOT for me. Good value and they often have 'specials'....
