I've subscribed to Martha Stewart Living Magazine for at least 6 years now. I always enjoyed her original show (not the new talk-show format) and wanted to learn more about the cooking, decorating, gardening, and other entertaining ideas that she had to share.

Over the past couple of years, though, there has been quite a change in the Martha Stewart Living Magazine. Instead of focusing on seasonal decorating, cooking, gardening, and entertaining, now most of the pages are devoted to advertisements designed as little "blurb" ads, health/beauty articles, craft projects, etc. I've always loved reading the article that featured a person entertaining family/friends at their home with a meal featuring in-season ingredients. It gave information about the person, the home decor, and, of course, the delicious meal. I was shocked to see that the October 2009 issue didn't contain one!

I've noticed that over the years (since Martha stepped down as Editor-In-Chief shortly before she went to...
...

scrapbookquilt says "Martha is the best at what she does, and she does alot." about Martha Stewart Living Magazine

In my estimation Martha Stewart is the one responsible for all that is seen as good about being a homemaker, a mom, a cook, a lover of your home. it is her take on the home and decorating and taking pride in it that has motivated so many people to be more aware of their home instead of looking outside the home for things to do. She has revived in our minds, homegardening, home cooking, simplicity, health so many things. I believe that because of her focus home-based companies like Southern Living at Home, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, tupperware are the success that they are. I personally think Martha should launch a line... I think Rachel and Barefoot Contessa would not be doing what they are doing if Martha hadn't done it first. The magazine the first in a line of high end media from Martha Stewart Multimedia is wonderful
...

While this magazine is beautifully done with pretty pictures, I really don't see anything that suits me. During my trial offer, I was bombarded with beautiful holiday issues and recipes, but everything else in the magazine seemed out of my league. I will be in the minority and just be glad it was a trial offer.
...

sreddy17 says "Martha Stewart Living - great for tips and tricks!" about Martha Stewart Living Magazine

Martha Stewart Living magazine is a great place to get tips for decorating and crafts... I have found though, that anytime I want to make one of the recipes, that I never have all of the items. The ingredients are kind of unique to that one recipe, and as a result, I probably won't make that recipe in lieu of making something with a more common, everyday item. I guess they are geared more towards the fancy, entertaining aspect, though I doubt I will ever try to be that fancy. I do love the magazine though! The photography and layout is well thought out as well (coming from a graphic designer by trade).
...

Martha Stewart Living Magazine is a great magazine to subscribte to!

In a word, Inspirational.

If you are a baker, someone who enjoys cooking, a crafter, an organization freak, a hostess, an environmentalist, pet lover, or someone who just enjoys a good article, then you will not regret buying this magazine.

It is not filled with pages of sleazy ads, in fact I find just the opposite; most of the ads in this magazine are very good and helpful.

The recipes are explicit.

Seasonal crafts are always fresh, and modern with a classic appeal.

Those are just some of the reasons why MS Living is a great read to have on a monthly basis. It has wide appeal.
...

I received this subscription as a gift. Lets just say I wasn't a Martha fan before. However I do love the magazine and Martha doesn't seem like such a bad gal. (I just don't like when people idolize her.)

The magazine's got lots of great ideas for organization, decorating, life...tips you can really use. (if you can remember them!)

I say give it a try, you might be surprised!
...

I look forward to the day when my Martha Stewart Living comes in the mailbox! It's a beautiful magazine, full of ideas for space saving, time schedules for getting things done, beautiful recipes and photos, etc! My favorite things in the magazine are the beautiful crafts. I always get compliments on my cake decorating skills. (Which I learned from watching Martha.)

It's easy to read and beautifully laid out. My favorite thing is to savor it for Saturday morning, then go to my favorite fancy coffee shop, and read it while having breakfast.

Although I'm not rich - reading Martha's magazine and following her advice makes me feel rich.
...

Whenever my issue of Martha Stewart Living shows up in the mail, I do a little happy dance, then I look through without really reading anything...just to take in the gorgeous photos. Even non-Martha fans would have to admit that the photography is excellent. Then I go back to read nearly every word.

The recipes are always varied, seasonal, and unique. Martha recommends high quality ingredients and dishes with lots of WOW factor!

Also, there are many articles on crafts and gardening. I'm a beginner in both of these areas, but I am learning a lot just by reading Living.

I would recommend this magazine to anyone who enjoys cooking, baking, crafting of any kind, gardening, photography--or any combination of the above. There's always excellent advice and a guide full of information on where to find any item discussed in the magazine. It's thorough, it's beautiful, and it is quite affordable.

At the newsstand, Living sells for nearly $5, but I was able to get a one year subscription for just......
