ConvenienceAddict says "great functionality and price" about Magnavox - DVD/CD Player DP100MW8

We got the Magnavox - DVD/CD Player DP100MW8 at Walmart for a great price and have been very pleased. Easy to hook up, small and lightweight, it does just what we need--plays our movies w/o a hitch. We still use a VHS/DVD combo (the DVD portion of the combo functions spottily at best...), which sits on top of our TV fairly sturdily, and this fits on top of the combo, making it difficult for little hands to reach it.

I actually like that we attach it in the front of our TV, as I can then easily limit functionality to either video or audio only, allowing me to screen (no pun intended!) things I want to and to limit screen time more effectively for my little ones. At least two regular DVD's fit on top of it in our setup, too, allowing for easy but not cluttered[-to-me-]looking access to current favorites.

The remote is easy to use, I think, too.

It would be nice if it were shorter (narrower from top to bottom); before we got help to raise a shelf in our entertainment center, it was...
...

The magnavox DVD player is perfect for use on second, third or fourth televisions. I purchased this DVD player for an extra tv in our house - just to use for exercise videos. I didn't need one with all of the bells and whistles - just wanted one to plug in an use and this 100 MW is exactly what I wanted. Very easy to use. Just plugged it into the front of my television and it was ready for use. The quality seems to be great. Very easy to use, simple. I would recommend this to anyone. Great for the older couple who has issues with current technology.
...

Magnavox - DVD/CD Player DP100MW8- is a very durable, nice and affordable DVD/CD Player I was debating on whether I should purchase this one or a more expensive and better brand name, But I am very pleased with this one. It does everything I needed it to do and is very compact so it does not take up alot of space. It is silver/grey in color and they also had it in black. I chose this specific color because it matches good with all my other electronics as well as my TV. I would recommend this DVD/CD Player to anyone that is looking for a good DVD/CD Player. ...

This is a great product! You can record shows straight from the television on to a recordable DVD. You can also hook a VCR up to this DVD recorder, and transfer old home movies to a recordable DVD.

It is a little difficult to learn to use, but worth the time to learn. Overall this is a great product.
...

My kids recently received this DVD player from an aunt that was visiting. It was a nice gesture but I was immediately worried about the lightness of it and it seemed a little low quality. Sure enough, it lasted about two days. My oldest daughter, whom I must say takes very good care of her toys and things, went to eject a dvd and it is stuck. Because it was a gift from someone out of state, I can't return it either. I ended up giving to my neighbor, who took it apart to try to fix, to no avail....

My oldest son got a new guitar with some DVD lessons. He likes to watch those DVDs and practice and repeat different lessons and it was obvious that he needed another place to do it exept our livingroom with the only DVD player we had. And moving the big DVD player around the house got very unpractical so we decided to look for a simple player to use on a small TV on his room.

This unit was the second cheapest in our local Walmart and we decided to buy it for about $30 which is not a bad price if you ask my opinion!

It is very light and small unit and setting it up is a snap. You really cannot mess it up, just two cables to screw in with color coordinating hints. I liked that, I hate any complicated installations!

The cheapest player had the top open case like CD players and this one holds the DVD (or your CD!) inside so it looked less flimsy for the extra $5. We've used ours for about a month now without a problem. I also heard that my kids friends have this exact same DVD player in their......
