I stayed at the MGM Grand in March 2009 for a birthday celebration and it was a great experience! I had never stayed there before and I was happy with the choice my boyfriend and I made. We got a great deal and the room was very nice. HUGE bed, very comfy with a down comforter, etc. The room was very clean and the maid service came every day. THe casino is HUGE with lots of different games, tables, slots, etc. My favorite part though was the Lion Habitat. Very cool to see such big creatures up close. The pool area was great, although took some time to find a chair, but we did get down there rather late. 2 cons about MGM: 1. the buffet was not impressive at all. There wasn't much variety and the food wasn't very good. I prefer the buffet at Planet Hollywood. Also, on our last day before checking out, we called the morning of to ask for an extra hour which we were told was fine. When regular check out time came, the maid service came knocking on our door and we told them we were checking...
...

Recently stayed here for my wedding and reception. You can really tell the people who really care about what's going on there. The wedding was perfect, no problems what so ever. Like I said Perfect! Now here we go with the bad. Check in and out is a nightmare no rooms are ready at check in time they give you 3pm. More like 7 or 8 pm. Check out is just as bad becasue you have lines of people trying to check in. Just bad managment at front counter. Next, planned reception there and everything was supposed to be taken care of. Not the case, if I had not been in the room when they were setting up it would have been a disaster. No one in room services knew what was going on. Not to mention in planning our reception we spoke to 5 different people in a 4 month period. Everytime you talked to a new person you had to go over everything from the start, food, drinks, setting, etc. Not to mention you are expected to pay everything in a timley manner but they reinburse payments......

Having decided to fly out for the July 4th weekend on July 2nd, we went to Las Vegas. We stayed at the MGM and I definitely was appreciative of our receptionist who offered us choices based on our preferance of room, view and floor. Comfy beds and oh so cool bathrooms. I think their conditioner is actually better than the salon ones I use. I was so tempted to ask for a sample to bring home ;-) and no I didn't do it!

They have the Cirque de Soliel show titled KA, which was magnificient - you get a 30% discount for the show for having stayed @ the MGM. Lion habitat for kids and ginormous pool makes it a family friendly place as well.

However, MGM is @ the south end of the strip and if you plan to check out the other casino in the north strip be prepared to walk a lot! Also, you had to walk @least 10-15 mins to get from room to parking lot or other areas of the hotel.

...

Step in front of the MGM Grand and immediately you'll feel like you are in front of the Emerald City because of the way the building looks. Step inside and there is a lively atmostphere of shops, restaurants and nightlife. The rooms are comfy and cozy with a Strip or pool view and have a feeling of luxury. They average about $150 a night, but if you are willing to splurge they have an amazing mansion addition where the suites are 100% elegance. I often visit this casino for the restaurants, may of which feature world renowned chefs. Emeril's features steaks ad seafood and recipes created by the famous Food Network chef Emeril Lagasse. They have many fine dining establishments to celebrate a special occasion with a luxury experience. I like the plethora of casual restaurants such as Wichcraft which specializes in sandwiches, the Stage Deli with fresh carved meats for sandwiches, soups and salads. The coffeeshop features great specials for late night dining. My favorite......

When i hear the phase what happens in vegas stays in vegas i instantly think MGM grand. This location encompasses everything you think about when you think Las Vegas.

The rooms are completely fab. They are very roomy and comfy. I have yet to get a room that didn't have a nice view.

The gaming floor is amazing. You can get lost walking around that place. Every time you walk around the floor you find some new treasure that you never expected to find.

The food is great. I mean you can pick up a quick and inexpensive dinner at Mcdonalds or you can find some very intimate where you can have a lovely dinner.

Although I haven't really explored the new west wing it looks amazing.

If we lost MGM grand, we would lose the meaning of vegas....

This hotel/csasino has everything. Clean spacious rooms. A food choice no matter of you want, just a quick hamburger, or pizza, or if you want a 5* dining experience. I never could understand the thinking of people who come the the worlds largest hotel, and then complain about it being too big. There are signs everywhere telling you how to get where you want to go. If you read them, it will make your visit much easier. I have never stayed in the West Wing, as I hear it has an open bathroom area, and that's a bit too modern for my taste. Plus is is dark and very small, although the rooms are more modern. The Grand Tower is my choice, and the beds? Well Vegas or no Vegas, you will be hard pressed to pull yourself out of that bed in the morning. The beds are so luxurious, and the down comforter wonderful. Plus the 6 pillows on the (King)bed.

The pool(s) are fantastic, and we have never had a problem finding a lounge chair.

Had decent luck in the casino as well, and the drink...
...

Great hotel and casino. Creates a one stop shop atmosphere. The lion-show is great. There is a lot of walking involved to get from casino floor to your room it is located. One good thing is the tram stops at the hotel which makes traveling the strip easy. The rooms are a great value. Nice clean rooms and great service. Been to Vegas 5 times and recommend this spot....

My husband and I travel to Las Vegas at least 2 - 3 times a year and we only stay at two hotels: MGM Grand & The Mirage. MGM has very nice comfortable rooms with decor that varies from classic movies to more modern contemporary decor. The bathrooms are large and all marble with big fluffy towels.

The casino is huge!!! and has all the games that Vegas has to offer and will also from time to time have new games that haven't been circulated throughout Vegas casinos. Because it's so large you can always find an open table or slot machine. If your a high roller those areas are very elegant and always have small buffets and impeccable service. The dealers and cocktail waitresses are all very nice and accommodating. Again this is Vegas and all hotel employees are nice - They want the money.

The restaurants are numerous (16) and offer every type of cuisine that you could think of - Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Mediterranean, American and of course the "Buffet". The one unique feature...
...
