Very good pizza. Not my top favorite, but if we had people from out of town, we would go there. For healthier option, can get low-fat cheese. The Lou's special with spinach, tomato, garlic is what my wife likes and I would eat it, too.
...

In my opinion, Lou Malnati's is the best Chicago stye deep dish around. Of course, i'm a relative novice when it comes to this stuff, having just moved out here half a year ago, but i've found their crust to be the right consistency of crunchy and flavorful (i think it's called a butter crust). Also their thin crust pizza is not bad either (and you don't have to wait as long for it to cook). Much better than Gino's East, Due, etc. Definitely my favorite deep dish in the city....

I tried Lou Malnati's in Evanston a couple of times and love it a lot. Nice service and great pizzas, especially the deep dish. Don't forget to try their desserts - they're really yummy and not too sweet. Don't order too much - food comes in a big portion..
...

Matt says "Lou Malnati's is among the best Chicago deep dish pizza" about Lou Malnati's - Chicago, IL

If deep dish pizza is your thing then you have to try Lou Malnati's out. Our office is directly across the street which makes many of my friends very envious. In fact people often know where our office is only after I tell them it is across from Lou Malnati's.

The sauce has a very nice fresh and sweet flavor to it. And of course, how could you go wrong with "butter crust" and mountains of cheese? Over the years I have become more of a Napolean style pizza fan, but if deep dish is the order of the day, then Lou's is the place to go. You will find people who think Giordonao's or Bachino's are better, but you just might need to try them all for yourself!

Also, I highly recommend the Lou's salad. It is a meal in itself. As far as serving size, two large pizzas and a salad does a pretty good of feeding about 10 hungry guys.
...

Lou Malnati's has delicious food, huge heaps of it, too, and is very easy on the wallet! this is my absolute FAVORITE place in Chicago for pizza and occasional pasta dishes. no one can compare, for the pizza value and taste!

great for families! great for crowds! great for family crowds! some of their locations have extra rooms for parties! all of them deliver! and the pizza can even be shipped to anywhere in US! that's a great deal!

cant wait for our next trip back! its a bit of a drive for us (like 250 miles)
...

I went to the Lou Malnati's in Schaumburg when I was visiting Chicago. It was so good that I returned on my way back to the airport. The sauce and abundent cheeseis delicious but the highlight is most definitely the absurdly good butter crust. In my opinion Lou Malnati's puts similar joints, like Uno, to shame....

The staff is always courteous and friendly. The pizza is always piping hot. And I adore the thin buttery crust!!! It's the best!!! We've also had the cheese sticks and the salads which are pretty good too. I've never tried the desserts, but the location in Lincoln Park has the best homemade Itialian Ice! Street parking is always a challenge, and because it's a smaller location, it can get crowded at meal times, but well worth the wait....

You won't leave here unsatisfied! Toppings/pizza is very fresh tasting, not loaded with grease like many other pizza places. I love going here but they really need more establishments around the city! The peach cobler is nothing to scoff at either! YUM!...

I came here for my first taste of chicago pizza, and I'm so so glad I did. Our server was incredible and so sweet, and made a real big deal out of this east coast girl turning over to the deep side. Yes, the pizza took half an hour - but they warn you about this. Nobody can really complain about how long it takes once you eat it. We got the garlic crust with sausage, and it was absolutely perfect. I don't think I would get this delivery or to-go, because the crust would probably get a little soggy. And their garlic bread really is to die for. I'll be missing my thin crust pizza, but this is a wonderful trade off.
...

Cat says "Best Pizza Ever? Maybe..." about Lou Malnati's - Chicago, IL

This is my third pizza restaurant review in roughly a week. I think that qualifies as an obsession. My quest for fantastic pizza has undoubtedly fueled at least one increase in dress size since I hit my thirties. Good pizza makes me happy, and while in Chicago, I planned to find out what a real thin crust Chicago pizza was like. It seems that everyone goes for deep dish pizza in Chicago, but I just don't have an appetite for something that enormous. So when I read on various bulletin boards about Lou Malnati's pizzeria in Chicago, and how fantastic it was supposed to be, it became our goal to eat there.

About Lou Malnati's
The restaurant has several locations, but the one that we visited was on North Wells Street. We'd spent a long morning walking all through the south side of Chicago, and we ventured back over the river and up to Lou's around 1:45PM. We were seated quickly in the back room, but getting back to our table was an exercise in agility, as the restaurant was packed. At nearly......
