Katrena says "Llama, Llama Red Pajama is Fun Rhyming Story of Bedtime Dilemma" about Llama, Llama Red Pajama

Llama, Llama Red Pajama [2005, Viking, ISBN: 0-670-05983-8 Hardcover] by Anna Dewdney is a delightful and fun32-page children's rhyming book about a little llama who is going to bed.

Well, he's supposed to be going to bed. Mama llama has tucked him and is downstairs busy washing dishes, but her little one decides he wants a drink of water. Mama Llama plans to be there in just a moment, but the phone rings. Little llama tries to be patient, but it isn't working very well as he experiences various emotions progressing from to an all-out emergency during the wait.

The illustrations compliment the story nicely, and the book's theme is certainly one to which my kids can relate. I can certainly relate to a little one that suddenly desperately needs something when mom is on the phone and to kids that seem to have the hardest time going to bed. All three of my kids (now 8, 5, 2) were diagnosed with colic. Sometimes Mama wants to scream too...but I hope our stories are as cute as the ending...
...

Llama Llama Red Pajama is an adorable book! I bought it for my granddaughter when she was 3 and she loved it. I work in kindergarten and all the kids love the Llama books. They love hearing the stories. The pictures are great and the rhyming is certainly a plus! It is a book your child can enjoy hearing over and over!
...

After reading this my daughter walks around and says words that rhyme and tells me that "they sound the same so they rhyme!" because that's what I told her while reading the book. It's very cute and apparently has helped my child learn what rhyming means.
...

I bought Llama, Llama Red Pajama when my daughter was still in my belly. My husband used to read it to my belly, and it is still a favorite of my daughter. Great rhymes, sweet message and fantastic artwork. We have recently discovered another in the series (Llama, Llama Mad at Mama) and it is a homerun too....

I purchased this book thru Scholastic as one of the featured books of the month. I was not disppointed at all. It is soooo cute and enjoyable. It's easy reading, great rhyming, shows excellent expressions, colorful and funny. What can I say... this was a great book. I don't know if it comes in a hardcover (I would assume it would), I purchased mine as a softcover. The little llama cracks me up and reminds me of my own children and their lack of patience....

We found this book at the library, and after I read it with my kids, I had to buy our own copy. It is one of the most fun and entertaining picture books I've read in years! My two-year-old "reads" the book to herself, going through all the emotions of fear, anger, and panic that accompany little llama wondering why his momma isn't bringing him a drink of water. She gives the kisses at the end to make llama feel better. My 5-year-old preschooler can repeat the whole book and read it, and even my eight-year-old loves to read it with the family! It is a must-have for your children's book library....
