roserighter says "Tests the relationship to the breaking point." about License To Wed

License to Wed is a funny movie starring Robin Williams. He stars a a priest who puts a young couple through a battery of tests before he will marry them. The girl, played by Mandy Moore, is much more accepting of the things Rev. Frank is asking them to do, including giving up sex until the big day. The guy, played by John Krasinski, has a hard time with all of the tests Rev Frank puts them through.

The couple in License to Wed is forced to have their first fight, are spied on and interrupted before having sex, are encouraged to speak openly about family members and given a set of the creepiest fake babies I've ever seen to care for.

To marry the love of his life, this guy has to jump through rings of fire and prove that he is worthy of getting married before the great Rev Frank in a church that his fiances grandfather built.

License to Wed had me laughing out loud at times. It made me thankful I'm not Catholic....

I dragged my boyfriend to see License to Wed in theaters on our date night. He went reluctantly, and I am so glad he agreed! This was portrayed through previews as a family film where the main humor was in Robin Williams' outlandish antics. I found that it was more than a family film. Some humor was acceptable for the kids, some was aimed toward adults. The adult humor was somewhat tasteless and I wouldn't show it to my kids. It definitely was not Robin Williams' best movie.

All in all, it was a good movie, despite the downfalls. Even my boyfriend had to admit that it wasn't bad. I would recommend this movie to any age group.
...

bookstar says "Nothing amazing, but cute enough" about License To Wed

If you don't expect much from this movie, you can't be disappointed and you might enjoy it. It's cute and stupid and exactly like all the other romantic comedies out there, but I liked it. Not my favorite, but I'm a huge fan of Mandy Moore and although not her best performance and the comedy was pushing it a bit, I still found myself smiling at the end. I would recommend multi-tasking while watching this one, it'll be more enjoyable....

gman50 says "All should take the course before they wed, it may help" about License To Wed

License to wed was not only funny around every corner but it had wonderful messages about marraige, fights/arguments are treated in a unique way so as to help people know that they really are arguing over something silly. Taking these to pretend babies and i'm sorry but they were a tad on the homely side but after looking at them for awhile they began to grow on you and suddenly you find that your caring for them just ike you would taking care of your real babies, children.

So while it's a comedy it does make some very good points and Robin is at his best when he can go off make the crew laught into a "CUT" from the laughing director. So go out and have fun with your kids and you will enjoy yourself.
...

Robin williams is one of the best actors around to me. This movie just adds to his incredible talent. The movie is funny throughout and keeps you laughing. He plays the priest that determines if a couple would have a successful marriage. Comedy at it's best is all I can say about this movie....

This movie came out in July but when it comes out on DVD, rent or buy it. It is one of the funniest movies of the year. Robin Williams was great as the priest. Even though it was a comedy, it taught a valuable lesson. It was about this priest who made this couple take a test before marriage and the funny things that happened to them on the way to the altar. ...
