I have used many Lexmark products in the past and have always had an issue with quality. I received this printer as a birthday gift and have had issues all along. The cartridges are expensive and dont last very long. I have never owned a printer that ran out of ink this quickly. It also prints very slowly. I understand it's not a laserjet but a little more speed couldnt hurt. The scan quality is also very poor. The letters are very fuzzy when the scan goes thru and it takes time for that to happen also. Copying is perhaps the only thing this printer does well. This version is also very bulky and utilizes more deskspace than my 19" monitor! The design of the printer is also quite archaic. When installing printer cartridges, the whole top has to be raised and it is quite heavy. There is some type of timer that slides the cartridges from left to right whether you have completed installation or not. All in all, this isn't a bad printer but it certainly is not standard...

I RECIEVED THIS COMPUTER FROM MY BOYFRIEND AT THE TIME WE WERE AT CONNS AND HE OFFERED TO BUY THIS ALL IN ONE PRINTER FOR ME . IT WAS ONLY 29.99 US DOLLARS. IT CAME WITH EVERYTHING I NEEDED YOU KNOW INK , ETC ..... . . . . THIS IS MY SECOND ALL IN ONE PRINTER FROM LEXMARK ANDITS JUST AS GREAT AS THE FIRST ONE THE FIRST ONE I DROPPED IT AND BROKE THE GLASS ON THE INSIDE. ANYWAY I HAVE SO MUCH FUN SCANNING DOCUMENTS AND MAKING COPIES . THIS MACHINE MAKES GREAT COPIES OF GOOD QUALITY . NO PAPER JAMS OR ANY GAPS SO THATS A BIG BIG PLUS .THIS MACHINEIS COMPATIBLE WITH BOTH MY DESKTOP AND MY LAPTOP COMPUTERS. BIG UPS WHOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO LEXMARK CONGRADULATIONS ON PUTTING TOGETHER A GREAT PRINTER THAT ME AND MY FAMILY LIVE i WOULD DEFINITLY MAKE MY NEXT COMPUTER PURCHASE A LEXMARK UPGRADED ALL IN ONE PRINTER. I DO HAVE A CON AND THAT WOULD BE THE INK COST US MORE THAN THE PRINTER IT SELF .

i use to love my lexmark all in one printer,till i bought a new computer last month .I didn't buy a new printer b ecause it still worked,well it is not compitable with the new pc you have to turn it off after each printing and turn it back on to print another page.what makes me mad it is not that old.

I have had my X1150 all in one printer for over four years. It use black and color ink. Which I found online at a good price. One time I start having problem with it. Went to the lexmark web site and download a update driver. It working just find. It prints, copy, and scans. I never use it to fax, but it can do that also.

I've had a lexmark z-11 for nearly 10 years now and never had one problem with it. A few years ago,at work we bought a really nice printer with all the fancy doo dads so we spent 500 bucks on a Canon with the separate ink cartridges and everything. It was horrible to set up and use, the software was awful, the print icon was always giving errors and finally, six months later, it just wouldn't print anymore. That was some real garbage. Completely opposite of the reputation but I find that kind of stuff is usually over rated. People say that expensive stuff is better and it's not always true.

So,we had to replace the canon and I've gone back to a lexmark. This thing scans at lightning speed! It's simply unbelievable. For years we've wanted to archive magazine articles onto disk and get rid of the hard print stuff but the old flatbed scanners were so slow we'd quit after a day of it having done not even one issue. With this new scanner - we were done in a long weekend with EVERYTHING. OCR...

Like I said I "LOVE IT"!!!! The Lexmark 1185 is really a great copier for the price.

You need too buy quality paper,for really clear,crisp copies. Also you can refill the

ink caratages in some stores for a great price. $10.00 for B and W, $15.00 for color.

I have always owned Lexmark printers. I love them, but the cost of ink can get outragious. I would like to see them increase the price of the computer and keep their ink costs low. I have considered switching to a new brand to lower my expenses.

Lexmark X1185 is ok. But I really don't like the fact that it is so "bossy" !! If I press print, it says your ink is low, do you want to continue ? will you be buying ink now ? Well by the time I pressed it the 1st time I've gone to do something else ~~ and come back ~~ nothing printed ~~ press ~~ leave ~~ nothing ~~ press ~~ goddamit! I know my ink is low, but you are STILL printing aren't you ? so shut up and print ! I used to love my old LEXMARK .. it popped up once, said ya need ink did ya know that ? and I'd go "ya later ok?" and it'd go ok won't tell ya again .. LOVE THE VOICE "PRINTING STARTED" cuz it sounds like my friend's voice Andrew. But this new one, has a lil "nag" living in it and I'd love to kill her....

We got our Lexmark x1185 from a Used store. It has worked GREAT for us. Our last printer was also a Lexmark but we were very dissatisfied with it. And that one we had gotten brand new. It would not take the paper and had to feed the paper one at a time. This printer you can put a lot of pieces of paper in the feeder and it will draw the paper out just fine.

The only negative to this printer is that the ink is a little bit expensive. It takes 2 cartridges (color and black) and each one costs around $15 to $20. I go to the websites that charge the least. And it goes through the black ink really fast. We don't do an enormous amt of printing but we went thru a cartridge in about a month. The color has been lasting a LONG time tho.

But considering we got this printer used, it is holding up really well. It is very durable and it prints out very good pictures as well as print. Even buying these printers new, they are very affordable. So if you are looking for a good cheap...

I have owned this Lexmark X1185 PRINTRIO for several years, and all I've had to do is run nozzle cleaner after every ink cartridge replacement. I copies and scans perfectly, prints photo quality documents and pictures, is very easy to use, the cartridges are inexpensive and readily available, and it's extremely rugged. I dropped mine as I was removing it from the shipping box and dropped it-upside down- from about three feet onto a hardwood floor.Still worked perfectly! I'm very impressed and pleased with Lexmark products....

Lexmark printers are not the best on the market, but for the money you cannot beat them. I have owned several and have always been satisfied. The ink replacement is not that expensive either.
