The Little Touch Leap Pad is a wonderful toy to give to your growing little human! It's already a fact that the babies born in the 2000 millenium are profoundly advanced but with the milleniums new technologies like the Little Touch Leap Pad we can have a positive outlook on our children's education. The features on the pad makes it easy for your child to learn to manuever, the games are enriching; offering great cognitive learning skills, reasoning and decision making and also patience(what little soldier doesn't need to learn that!:-)). The only thing that kind of upsetted my child was that once she accmplished the task the pad required, there was no variety or versatility to add to it. I had to go and buy The Leap Pad that take the different cartridges like Dora The Explorer, Go Diego Go!, The Backyardigans and The Wonder Pets. Basically, I like anything that Leap Pad produces1 They create products that play a big part in the futuristic aspect of our children's eagerness to learn.
...

I was excited to purchase the LeapFrog Little Touch Leap Pad for my daughter's second birthday. The product is made for children 18 months and up, so I thought it would still be a useful learning tool before moving onto similar LeapFrog products (like the Leapster). However, in using the Little Touch Leap Pad, my husband and I have found the product to be a complete waste of money. Perhaps if my daughter were able to completely focus her attention for long lengths of time it would be worthwhile - but what 2 year old can do that? There are 3 settings that can be used, based on the child's developmental age. However, the setting can be easily changed on each page of a Leap Pad book by the child. The child can also easily turn off the narration (which we can't get to work right anyway). A child at this age has no idea what the settings or "narration on/off" mean. The product just can't be used consistently in one sitting (plus the product doesn't remember what settings you......

The Little Touch Leap Pad by Leapfrog is a wonderful investment for infants and toddlers. It has several books and cartridges that contain a varying number of "learning moments" and 3 appropriate levels of play for your growing baby in addition to the story telling option and games option. It both amuses and entertains children because they get to touch anything on the page and it will interact with them in some way. This is a must-have for younger kids and its great in getting them to sit still for story time....

We received this as a gift for our son...yes we got a pink one for some reason. He really likes to listen to the music and he tries to press to make the sounds. He got it at 6 months and we couldn't get him to sit very long to look at it. Now at 8 months he is able to sit a little longer and help turn the pages. The pages are very durable. My son has stuck them in his mouth, folded them, wrinkles them and who knows what else. They look a little wrinkled but they are not torn and have to water marks on them. I think as he gets older he will grow more interested in it. Definitely not for a little baby except maybe to enjoy the music. Great as a gift but don't think I would ever buy one myself for my child. To much money for it and the books unless you find a deal.
...

Actually, I like it! My daughter is 16 months and we enjoy it. The only problem I have with this product is, my daughter keeps taking out the cartridge. It should have some kind of locking device on it so little ones don't remove them without the parent. Other than that, I like it!...

I thought this would be a great toy for my then 18 month old child who loves to hear stories. However, this toy is nearly impossible for children to use by themselves. You have to press a button to load the page every time you turn it, which is very hard for a child to understand. And you have to really press down hard for it to work. It was good for mom & baby storytime, but if I'm going to be sitting there anyway, I'd rather read it myself. After a while, the book stopped working properly (probably because you have to press so hard on the buttons). I wouldn't recommend this product....

my daughter recieved this about two years ago at a year old and she rarely plays with it. She's got about 5-6 different books but it doesn't hold her interest long. some negatives include the fact that you have to push the go button on every page and then the child has to push the picture hard to get it to do anything. another thing i don't like is that its pretty simple to figure out how to change the 3 levels of play that my daughter will keep turning to the first page and changing it to a lower level that doesn't challenge her, i think she actually gets more of a thrill out of this than actually going through the book. overall if i had to purchase this again i wouldn't do it, not worth it and there's so many more learning products out there for baby's now!...

My daughter got this at her first birthday, and my son got one too. They can not hold their attention. It was way to complicated for such a young child. They do not understand what they are doing, half the time it didn't work right. Neither of my children like this toy. I would not recommend this toy for any young children. My daughter didn't start to understand it until she was 3, and by then, it was to boring for her.
...

This product was so heavily advertised that my daughter received two when she was only 1 year old, but even now at 4 years old she doesn't really do anything with it. I'm sure she could learn how to operate it, but she wants me to read to her, not an electronic book to read to her. The LeapPad products are for school aged children, not babies. Actually, I won't buy any of the LeapFrog products for my children because I prefer that they engage in imaginative learning play than factual learning play. ...

I initially borrowed the Leap Frog Little Touch Leap Pad from our school's resource center. I wanted to see if it would be a solid purchase for our toddler at Christmas.

Immediately my son tore into the box and began checking out the leap pad. The power is easy for him to turn on and off and it has a handle for portability.

However, if you want to change the setting you will need to do that yourself. The leap pad is almost completely dependent on parents interacting with the child. My son wasn't happy to play with it by himself and became frustrated easily when he couldn't get the pad to respond because he didn't push hard enough on it.

I don't think this is a product I would buy for a child under the age of two. It is durable enough to withstand the abuse of a young baby and toddler but it is not interactive enough to hold a baby's attention.

There are numerous books to use with the leap pad and the different settings allow you to decide how to interact with the book. The books are all...
...

My son has had his Leappad for over a year now, and still plays with it. I love that you can buy new books for it. That keeps baby interested. He learns a lot from it. The toy teaches letters, colors, numbers, and animals. The pages are drool proof which equates to not having to throw away well used books. After my son has outgrown this toy I plan to pass it down to his younger cousin, I know it will still work, because it is so durable....

The Little Touch Leappad is great for teaching your little one. Three different stages for different ages helps your child continue learning and not get bored with the books. The books are drool-proof and tear-proof. A big plus for the 6-18 month childeren! While I love helping my daughter play these books it would be nice if she could do it by herself sometimes. You have to press GO each time you turn a page, but you have to press HARD! Same with the pictures on the pages. It would be more enticing to children if they could make the noises themselves. Despite the drawbacks I would recommend this toy to parents willing to play with their children.
...

We bought this one hoping to share the love of reading with our youngest, and for her to have one like our oldest (she's got the LeapPad) daughter. She's now 14 months and can use it fairly well-- when we purchased it, though, we thought we could use it much earlier. At 7 months, we sat with her and tried but she almost tore the pages. The pages are not as sturdy as they should be, especially for the little tikes. It's okay now, but we had to put it away for a little while....

I wasn't thrilled about the LittleTouch the first time I turned it on, before my daughter was even born. My reasons were the very reasons why my daughter never got excited about using this as an interactive book. For an age group that is all about instant gratification, constantly having to push the green Go circle is frustrating, being instructed to push the lightbulb immediately after pushing the Go circle is more frustrating, and none of the activities or the story included are that riveting. There are many other interactive books to buy for the LittleTouch, and some of them are likely more fun than the "One Bear in the Bedroom" story that comes with it, but I think they would be a waste of money when my daughter would rather read a real book. Also, switching the settings and reading the book are too complicated for a toddler to do on their own, and as soon as you get it set up for them, they'll probably hit the off button because it's so much more fun. Furthermore, the LittleTouch LeapPad......
