The idea of this toy is wonderful, but it's really isn't worth the cost of it. My son played with it for a few minutes and then was bored with it. The actions of the game are too slow and takes to long to change screens. He has more fun just playing with the buttons than anything else. It's also really hard to get it to work with our DVD player.
...

I am a mother of three children with my oldest being twelve, my middle child is two and the youngest is one. All three of my children will sit down together and play with the LeapFrog Little leaps games. I can't believe how fast my two and one year old have learned colors, shapes, numbers and so much more from sitting in front of a game system. My kids love the fact that they get to interact with the same characters they watch on T.V.

The system is so easy to use all you need is a DVD player. The cotrols are made big for the little hands amd there are two different age ranges for the control pack. So it is an item that your infants can grow to toddlerhood with.

This game is a wonderful game system for young children. Not sure the age levels are correct though. At 9 months my daughter wouldn't have sat in front of the tv and understood when the game said "push a button". But my daughter is almost 2 now and loves it. She especially loves the "bunny" game and can name all the characters. She loves the realistic animals an babies in the game. Now that she is older she has some of the toddler games. Thank goodness Leap Frog made a Thomas the Train game because she absolutely loves it.

It is a shame that Leap Frog has discontinued this game system. It is a great system for young toddlers. At least we have most of the games now so my daughter and later our new son can play this system for years to come.
...

the little leaps grow-with-me learning system is so cute. i alays get toys for my boys. especially my youngest boy and hes very picky with what he played with. well this toy has kept his interest over the box it came in and that is rare. i try to teach him colors on it as well as shapes. i know hes only 1, but you cant start too early right? ilike the fact that it is a long term toy. will get different usage as my baby grows. right now he is moreso functioning with the toy aspect, but as he gets older hell moreso be interested in the video game. i like that sit teaches him his animals. letters. numbers amongst other things. its very important for a single mother or any mother to buy things for their children that will help them in the long run. and though he still may be young i think that this is a pretty good start. if this toy survives for very long ill make sure to save it for my next child. im not sure if its still ont he market or not, but if it is then i reccomend this toy for any...
...

We bought this Leapfrog Baby, Little Leaps toy for my oldest daughter for Christmas one year and she absolutely loves it! Even our second daughter likes it! It is a very simple toy for children to use, you don't need to sit there and do it for them. It is fun and teaches the children many things according to which game you put on for them. The first one that comes with the toy teaches shapes, music, numbers and animals. We got them a princess one and it teaches about colors, grouping, dance and songs. We also got them the Thomas the train ABC and feelings game as well - they love it. The last game we got them was a spelling one with the little spider. They always want to play with it and I have the confidence of my children not getting bored with the toy within the fist ten minutes of play. Little Leaps has many other games as well that you can get at many stores, but I always find them on clearance at either Walmart or Ross and sometimes Ebay. I highly recommend this game for children....
...

It is a bit of a pain to do the initial start up, but after that its great!

I love a toy that will help educate my child and this does that. The only thing is that it's kind of difficult to set it up according to your DVD player and keep up with your manual, because if you don't, you can't add another DVD player to it! It needs to have a little less talk and more interaction, though....

My son received this last Christmas, right after he turned a year old. He's only played with it once and then only for about 10 minutes. I've tried to get him interested in it several times, since he loves pushing buttons, but he's just not interested in this. It might be good for an older toddler, but I wouldn't bother with it for a younger baby. For now, I have ours on a shelf to try again later when he's a little older. I'm just glad that we got it as a gift and didn't lay out any money for it....

I cannot say that I am happy with my purchase. You can only use this product with certain DVD players. Luckily we have one of the DVD players that it is supposed to work with, but I have to set it up everytime my son wants to play with it. By the time I am done setting it up, he has already lost interest in it!...

I received this as a gift last Christmas and it has yet to keep my toddler entertained for at least ten minutes. I keep trying it again every week or so and, at first, she is interested (I of course play with her and encourage her to press the right button for the corresponding color or shape or whatever) and I get REALLY excited when she does the right thing - but after a couple minutes she's like - NEXT! Maybe it's just toddlers in general because, honestly, I think this is really cool!

Any suggestions to make this more fun?
...

We originally purchased the V-Smile Baby for our son for Christmas. It was promptly returned in exchange for the Little Leaps system.

So far we are very impressed with the system. Since the system is DVD based the graphics (movies) are great. I think it is far more stimulating than the other system. I'm also looking forward to the selection of games available as my son grows and learns.

Things I Like - I like the versatility of the system and the fact that it will grow with my child. The two sided controller is a great idea. I like the value for the money. As with everything children's toys get more expensive every day. This system costs less than V-Smile and I feel like my dollar went a little farther. I like the variety of games. In addition to the Leap Frog titles there are many character titles available. Having characters my son likes makes him more interested in using the system. I like the mutiple control setup. You are able to set the...
...

My daughter received this as a gift for her 1st birthday. She was able to use it in baby mode right away. Now that she is 18 months old, she is pretty much able to handle toddler mode as well.

However, the drawback is that the system only comes with 3 demo games, and then you have to invest in the additional games. They're almost as expensive as buying games for a Playstation, Wii, or Xbox! Okay, not as much, and it's educational, so that's a plus, but with toddlers, it's hard to say whether they'll like it or not, so to invest in a game that's so expensive not knowing whether they like it or not is a tough call...and you can't go rent them at Blockbuster to find out first! :)

The games that are included vary from baby to toddler mode, and my daughter enjoyed them...however, she'll only tolerate one at a time. Trying to sit her down longer than the 15 or so minutes for the first game is next to impossible.

Good system, but expensive upkeep.
...

this is a great educational tool. My kids all love this toy. They love to watch TV and I love the fact that they're learning while they do so. I have 2 toddlers so toys at my house have to be durable, the little leaps system can take many beatings without stopping the program. It does have a few drawbacks though, you have to be extremely patient during setup. Also helps to have a dvd player thats a few years old - it will not work with a HD dvd player.
...

My daughter really cannot get enough of this toy, she just turned 1 and the Little Leaps was a birthday gift I really did not expect her to be able to use this but she got the hang of it right away the TV always holds her attention so we usually keep it off in our house (she'll sit in front of it like a zombie if you let her) however this gives her an educational way to interact with the TV the program stops if she stops pushing buttons so it keeps her engaged. I really had no problem setting this up and our DVD player is a few years old....
