I received several Le Creuset skillets and bakeware for my bridal shower and wedding this year. I was so exciting to receive them because I heard they were of a high quality (and very expensive) brand. After 1 month of using them, they have terrible scratches and chips in the paint on the bottom and sides, especially of the skillet. I am so angry that the people who cared for me spent so much money on Le Creuset cookware when they are obviously not the high quality pieces we thought they were. Now I'm stuck with a set of expensive cookware that I don't want!
...

cheapbastard says "Way overpriced." about Le Creuset Cookware

Le Creuset (LC) are WAY overpriced. I am quite sure they perform as advertised / reviewed because I have the EXACT same thing, from a different MFG.and it cost me 1/3 as much ($60 for a 6 qt model). The Cast Iron is excellent for its heat properties, the enamel coating is both relatively non-stick, and easy to clean, just as all the reviewers have said. But good god, $200 + for some enamel coating on a $12 pot!?!??! (Yes $12 - RETAIL! I bought a 6 qt, bare cast iron, dutch oven, from Harbor Freight tools for 12 bucks - about a year ago - use it for camping all the time). WTF are people thinking? I thought it extravagant to spend $60 (and if it weren't my B-day I sure would not have)!

If LC were the only option, I would invest in an enamel spray booth and an oven!! Hell even celebrity Chefs don't charge this much to put their name on the same thing! Keep looking, cooking nirvana is much less expensive, and much closer to your local mall than you might think. (I bought mine at a store......

About 4 months ago I purchased my first Le Creuset Dutch-oven. I was a little concerned about the expense for a single piece of cookware. I bought the lime color and I absolutely love it.

If I could only have one piece of cookware in my kitchen this would be it. I use it for all types of cooking. I stir fry shrimp in it for tacos. I make chili in it and homemade chicken and dumplings. I also have braised short-ribs in this little gem. You can make this fabulous and easy pulled pork with five simple ingredients. Put these five ingredients in the dutch-oven: 3 to 6 pounds of pork tenderloin, 1 can coke, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 2 cinnamon sticks, and 1 bay leaf. Put into a 375* oven for 3 to 4 hours. Remove from oven and shred pork for sandwiches or burritos.

This single piece of cookware has received the approval of 3 generations of Browns. My mother-in-law, my daughter and I would not be disappointed if we received a piece of this cookware for any special occasion...
...

I .love to cook. Le Creuset enamel coated cookware lasts forever and evenly cooks everything. I can't go wrong. I have to save to buy a pieve of this cookware, as it is epensive (well, in my eyes, I am on a budget here) but it is worth the investment. You never will need to replace cookware if you buy Le Creuset.
...

We bought our dutch oven a few years ago at the outlet store. It was quite expensive even with the outlet discount. With a hugh selection of colors we decided on white! It sat in my cabinet for about 5 years until one day I decided to give it a try. Yes it is heavy and well i thought with white it would be hard to clean. Let me say this pot is probably the most perfect pot around! Eventhing cooks quickly and evenly and cleanup is a breeze. I even use it in the oven to bake bread ( you need to get a different knob for over for this or cover it with foil. Now i use it almost daily and can not believe i waited so long to try it. I love this pot and will be getting another one that is smaller real soon!
...

FinDuMonde says "Le Creuset is in a class of its own when it comes to cookware" about Le Creuset Cookware

We got first Le Creuset as a wedding gift and I think that tells you all you need to know about this product: it is classy, timeless, and sturdy, and, yes, also quite expensive.

Actually, though, when you think about how long its going to last and how much use you can get out of it, it's not as expensive as you'd think.

Plus, it's the ideal pot for slow-cooking--everything from stews to braciolas to braised cabbage. It keeps the juices in, goes from stovetop to oven without any problem, and is easy as pie to clean when its all said and done.

My kitchen wouldn't be complete without it.
...

I've used Le Creuset enamel coated cast iron for at least 25 years!! The same set!!! I prefer to slow cook in it or cook something like veggies. I use my stainless for saute cooking since food can easily stick to Le Creuset pots and pans. Don't let this deter you from acquiring this top notch cookware. It's plusses certainly outweigh the few minuses. If you want cookware to last a lifetime and more purchase Le Creuset!!!
...

ruthmim says "The cooking vessel I wish I'd had 20 years ago!" about Le Creuset Cookware

A 5.5-quart Le Creuset dutch oven entered my life last Christmas, and I wish I'd had it all my life! This vessel is not only a gorgeous and classic red color, but it is the best cooking vessel I will probably ever own.

The Le Creuset products are cast iron pots coated in smooth, colorful finishes. My dutch oven is a round vessel that is extremely versatile. The first thing I made in it was a delicious tomato-bean soup a la Giada de Laurentiis. Last night, I cooked a rice pilaf dish with shrimp, lemon and garlic.

I am amazed at how little heat I need to apply to the pot. The stovetop (mine's ceramic) only needs to be turned a third of the way up to get excellent heat for sweating vegetables. I can't help but think that this is going to save on energy. On another occasion, I was amazed at how well the pot retained heat. I had to turn it off as it kept boiling the liquid, even at the lowest heat!

The pot is so beautiful, I enjoy having it in view on the cooktop at all times. To wash it,...
...

Cast Iron cookware is the best. Our mothers, grandmothers all cooked with it. It trully holds the heat and distributes the heat evenly, because it's such a heavy pan.

Enamel on this cookware is icing on the cake. Even though I have a beautiful enamel set, I'm not giving up my old plain jane cast iron cookware. It will go camping with us!
...

I have been using Le Creuset's enamel coated cast iron pot for 5 years now and it's the best pot I ever owned! The cast iron helps to store the heat while cooking so it's very suitable for cooking especially stew and curry - all the meat and vebetables get very soft and jucy! And it's also easy to clean. Le Creuset cookware is not cheap but it's worth it!!...
