My girl and I just recently had a baby and we're living with her family which includes her father, her mother, and her brother. And I don't make that much at where I work and We needed something to where we'd be able to get what we needed to get for our daughter and her family so we'd be able to have a pretty big part in christmas. Not to mention we need to get something to where we'd be able to get things for christmas and be able to get the everyday things we needed to get for our daughter like diapers and all that good stuff. My girl mentioned something about kmart layaway because of the commercials and everything she'd been seeing on the television and we decided to go to the store and give it a try and I think it's the best thing to go do. This way each time my paycheck comes every two weeks it's so easy to just go to the store. walk in, pay however much i want to towards the layaway and it's done. And then we can go out and get a little thing here and a little thing there just to...

I am so extremely happy that Kmart decided to bring back layaway. My Christmas just wouldn't have been the same without it! With times being difficult and money being tight I couldn't have managed to buy a PS3 for a gift like I wanted to. As soon as I found out that Kmart had layaway I immediately went and put the game system on layaway. Now (I'm almost ashamed to say) that I am just as excited about having the game system and watching Blu-ray movies as my boyfriend!...

I had a layaway at k-mart and when I went to pick it up, after paying it off, I waited for it for, for over an hour, and never got it. They could not find it, so I had to leave the store empty handed and return the next day to pick it up. It was a costly ordeal. I lost time and gas and nearly my patience. It was not a good experience to say the least. I think that the layaway was a good idea, but a better organized system is defineately in order!...

Look, I dont want to complain but I will..lol, If Im in line for the layaway or whatever I dont want to here about the layaway queens day, dog,cell phone, friend, car, or whatever while I stand their being ignored. This is not because the layaway queen was stressed or overworked in this situation, actually she pretty darn calm. I had to stand in line not because their was a long line of layaway people, or they where learning the register or they had run out of receipt paper, this was because the queen was talking to the other cashier about her cell phones life, history, and so on. Do I really need to hear this? Is it on the contract?...Dont get me wrong I love KMART, but I hate this kind of behavior not only did she ignore me and made me here her story and let me stand their until she figured out how to tape a box, she was rude and made me feel like I was bothering her. The 2nd time I went in their was no one their for a good amount of time but atleast the person that showed up......

I think it is great that Kmart has kept the layaway dept., but they need to make it easier to use layaway. I decided to use Kmart for my Christmas layaway...one of the only stores who still have it....but I had to wait in a very long line. The girl that was behind the counter was overwhelmed. She had called for help numerous times while I was there and even stopped one of the manager who walked by while I was there. The manager said she would send someone back to help the girl. I was there for another 30 minutes and no one came back to help her. I felt sorry for the girl in layaway she was working as fast as she could and being very nice even though you could see she was overworked and overstressed.

Layaway was very helpful to me and my family this year. Instead of stressing about holiday shopping within a few weeks before Christmas, I was able to shop once.. put a small down payment down that day and then make a payment once every two weeks. Took a lot of stress out of my life and no credit card debt too boot! :)

I used to shop Wal*Mart's layaway too, they've since quit offering it and it was a shame. Thanks KMart for offering such a helpful service!
