I am writting about the Lasko Model 5840 Heater. These are great little piece of equipment that will help take the chill off of your home any time cold weather is coming around. The Lasko heater will warm up a room and keep running with not to much of an expense on your electric bill. The lasko heater will help in any room you place it in. It is affordabley priced and can be found in alot of different stores throughout the area. You can find it from hardware stores, discount stores to places like wal mart. The lasko heater is also a very neat looking unit, which can stand in any room and not look out of place or ugly. Just think if your bathroom is the coldest room in the house and the Lasko Heater helps make it warm enough for your bath and or shower without feeling chilled or making you sick. The Lasko heater serves it's purpose, it keeps you warm. I use it in my office and I like it. One thing I like about it is that it doesn't take too long to warm up. I have used other space heaters before and I hate how it always takes time to heat up. This model only takes about 2 minutes to feel the heat.

We bought our Lasko Digital Ceramic Heater 5840 on Open Box @ Sam's Club. My husband loves a GREAT Deal and Digital Gadgets with Remote Controls. (so do I) This is a wonderful light weight unit with lots of air flow. I really like the 2 fan speeds and that it has an automatic thermostat. AND if it is OFF I can turn it on with the Handy Remote when my feet get cold, instead of turning up my house heater.

There are NO instructions on how to maintain the unit. But with the nice amount of air flow there is going to be an accumulation of dust. This will cause the heater to shut off for safety.

When it shut down a couple of times I followed the directions to leave it off for 5-10 minutes.

That seemed weird.

So I investigated the problem. Dust Bunnies.

Solution: CANNED AIR and my Trusty Vacuum Cleaner. It did not look like it was dirty. But.....there was more dust than meets the eye. After I turned it back on there was even a PUFF of dust and that smell. (you know...like...

The Lasko Model 5840 Ceramic heater is a good value for the price. This heater is attractive and does a very good job of heating a rom. It has 2 heat settings and you can use a timer to set the hours you want it to opperate. It has a remote contol. It has a thermostat that you can contol by degree increments. It is safe to touch anywhere and would be safe for children. it shuts off if tipped over. It is easy to moce around and has directional vanes on the output....
