My husband had the lapband surgery about four years ago now. He has lost over 125 pounds. i was almost afraid the weight loss wouldnt stop on its own -- but it did. he looks and more importantly, feels, amazing. his health problems have all disappeared. he doesnt have a long laundry list of pills to take now. all of his medications have been stopped by his doctor as well. now all he takes is vitamins...he is so happy. this surgery has changed his life for the better. actually, it changed all of our lives because now he can do things he couldnt do before. i suggest you research this surgery on your own!!

When i first heard of the lap band sugery i was a skeptic like most others. I had a few friends who actualy went threw with it and i saw a huge difference in thier weight loss and thier self esteam so, i descided to give it a try and let me tell you after just a short few months my life was much better. I could walk up stairs again without getting out of breath, i could walk down the streets faster and with more ease. My self esteam went threw the roof i was feeling better not only physicaly but mentaly as well i feel so much better about myself.

I totaly recomend this surgery for anyone who wants to lose alot of weight safely and easily in my opinion it is much better than the gastric bypass surgery for many reasons.

1: it is not permanent

2: you lose the weight alot slower so you dont wind up with as much loose skin hanging around both figuraly and literaly lol

3: you will deffinitly feel better about yourself

thanks to the people who came up with this wonderful surgery

My daughter received the lap band surgery in Mexico a little over a year ago. It was unfortunate that she had to come up with ten thousand dollars in cash and travel outside of the U.S. to get this surgery done. She should have been able to go through her health insurance and stay right here in the states. However since the surgery she has lost 92 pounds. Before this she was bloated, dressed in jeans and sweat shirts and had no social life. Her energy level was the speed of a snail. She ate when she was depressed and of course she was always blue because of this extra weight. Her health was failing her and she became diabetic.She showed up for work but only did what was expected and nothing extra. I find it amazing that she had to go to Mexico to get the surgery because no doctors in the U.S. would perform this surgery, but yet once she got back to the states she was able to go to the doctors here and get the fills done. Every six months you can go and get more fills...

Lap Band Surgery has got to be one of the only realistic ways to lose weight, especially for people who have had such a difficult time trying to lose weight. The best one I have heard of is the one which does not require surgery, it seems to be the safest, least dangerous method. I have researched this for my husband....

I had this done about 2 years ago...It was the best idea ever made...there are some cons to it but in the end it pays off....I dont drink soda anymore..i have a sweet a week to not binge which is bad for you....i eat less and feel great...i have lost 50lbs and still need to lose 50lbs more...but hitting a plateu happens to many people...but i have never felt better...

I had LapBand surgery almost 2 years ago, and I have lost 80 pounds and kept it off with ease! It was the most amazing procedure and I love my band, and I have a totally new life now because of it! I have two young boys and I can run and keep up with them now. I have never been healthier and I would do it again in a heartbeat! I highly recommend it to anyone struggling with their weight, because it gives you an amazing tool to help fight the battle against obesity!

I had the Lap Band surgery on May 15, 2007, and it has truly made a difference in my life. Before I had the surgery, I weighed 265 pounds. I now weigh 180 pounds and I hope to loose another 50 pounds but if I don't I am happy with the person that I have become. I no longer lay down in bed at night and wonder where my next breath will come from. I no longer lay down in bed at night and feel my heart pounding in my chest. My knees and feet don't hurt me any more like they used to. I can go shopping all day long before getting tired, where I used to only be able to do what I had to do and then go home. I am an emotional eater and with the Lap Band, it helps me control my emotional eating habits. I now have learned new ways of releasing my emotional stress than to eat. With the Lap Band, you are unable to continue to eat unless it is something that is unhealthy for you to begin with. Once you have the surgery and you see how good you are feeling and how much more you are...

I had lap band surgery in November of 2005 and I feel so much better than I did before the 70 pound weight loss! I had Dr. Kwon and he was very professional and helpful during the beginning, middle and still now. the band is a tool and nothing more the rest is up to you but for me it was a tool I definately needed. I have not reached my goal and at this point I realize I may never but even if I never do reach it my back, my legs and ankles all feel so much better just because of the 7 lb loss.

I think the lap band surgery may save my life.I had it April 1,and have lost 35 lbs.My blood sugar and blood pressure are already down.For people who think this is an easy way to lose weight,it is hard-but as I can see results,it makes me continue to stick to my Atkins-type diet.To me,it is totally worth it-tho tonight I went to CC"s pizza and had salad and scraped the ingredients off each piece and ate them!!while my family chowed down.I exercise 3 times a week-and am finding this easier and easier...
