I have two very picky birds, so I bought the nutri berries, just too see if they would like them.. We now buy nutri berries all the time.. Both of my babies really loved them, especially my macaw, she would eat them all day long if I let her. Apparently dogs like them do, our macaw likes to share her food and so now when we open the container the dog comes running lol Really great Product...

Great treats for birds, but not meant as a maintenance diet. I supplement my birds' pelleted diets with two Nutriberries every day. My Senegal (parrot) won't leave me alone until I give him his two Nutriberries in the morning....

ellensewall says "A bird-pleasing treat they can hold in their foot and pick apart" about Lafeber Nutriberries

Nutri-berries are theoretically nutritionally balanced, but I concur with other reviewers that they wouldn't be the best choice as a main diet. They're a good treat or an easy meal to give at times when I am in too much of a hurry to prepare fresh food. My Timneh grey always welcomes them. It's a relatively expensive food to give, and although almost the whole berry is "theoretically" edible, in practice my bird carefully picks out the safflower seeds, peanut pieces, and other favorite bits, and the rest tends to get dropped on the cage floor. Still, it's a fun food for him to eat and anything that has an entertainment factor is a plus. Nutr-berries come in plastic tubs in the "original" flavor and in poly bags in a variety of other appealing flavors such as "El paso" with spicy peppers, "tropical fruit," "garden veggie," "sunny orchard" with raisins etc. My bird seems to like them all.
...

mommabirdi says "Good as a treat...very nutritious" about Lafeber Nutriberries

I have 3 budgies that love this nutriberries. Yes, nutriberries are a complete diet but....... my budgies will not eat the little pellets that are in these. They will pick around them and only gnaw on the molasses and seeds. I have to smash them up in order for them to eat the berries. If I leave them whole, then they will use them for "toys!" I kept wondering what a small thumping noise was when I first fed the berries. Then I saw! One of the girls was picking the berry up and tossing it; and she was having quite a bit of fun at it, too, I might add. But in all seriousness, these are a good treat food for your birds. If you have the smaller birds that don't hold the food in their foot, then I recommend that you smash the berry into a treat cup for them to eat. But don't depend on them eating the pellets out of the berries. Some birds will eat the pellet. Mine won't! ...

Nutriberries are a great TREAT and supplement to daily food. They are NOT to be used exclusively for food. Mine eats these and pelleted food every day and she is a happy, healthy bird. And my floors are clean--not a lot of messy seed shells spit out of the cage....

My G2 has developed an addiction to these treats and I'm happy to enable her! The ingredients are healthy, the size is perfect for her to hold and her enjoyment gives me some "down time" on busy days!

The container keeps the product fresh although I do transfer to a pretty canister. The cost is a bit high but I balance that fact with the quality and it's worth every penny.
...

Kestrelle says "Great snacks!" about Lafeber Nutriberries

Lafeber's makes great products, and the Nutriberries certainly fall into that category. They come sized for different types of hookbills, and the birds typically immediately love them, even if they are picky eaters. I have rescued a lot of birds over the years, and the Nutriberries is one of the first things I'll introduce them to in their new home as I am confident that the birds will eat, and that reduces their stress....

When I adopted my first parrot two years ago, her foster mom gave me a container of Lafeber Nutriberries. She had purchased them for her bird and it turned out that he didn't like them. She told me that Lafeber products are excellent and that these Nutriberries could be fed as the main diet rather than just an occasional treat. I've sinced learned that her advice was not the best but I do still continue to purchase this product as an occasional treat.

Nutriberries are round, solid balls of corn, seed, nuts, egg, oats, etc. They come in different sizes for parakeets, cockatiels, parrots, and macaws/cockatoos. Lafeber used to claim that the shape reduced the amount of wasted product but that statement seems to have disappeared from the packaging and company web site... probably because birds drop just as much Nutriberry onto the bottom of their cage as they do with any other kind of food. Nutriberries are fortified with vitamins, minerals, and amino acids and, in theory, could...
...
