I first heard about Creme de la Mer in 2002, when J Lo made it one of her signature products. I was fascinated by the stuff. I wondered how it would work and how it could change my skin. Well, fast forward to 2005 and I had a friend who worked at a makeup counter at Saks. He was able to get me free samples of this miracle cream, and let me tell you I became a "junkie". I am officially hooked to Creme de la Mer and the entire La Mer line. Even the lip balm is better than the usual lip balm. Don't believe me? Try it for yourself. All of the products are like heaven in a bottle! I had a few lines in my forehead and around my mouth.. .now they aren't even noticable!...

I decided to try LaMer based on all the media hoopla stating it was The Best Thing Ever, and bought enough to be able to use it for 3 months. (Thank you eBay...) I was VERY disappointed as it did literally Nothing for me. And it is INSANELY expensive! It was a heavy moisturizer, but there are gazzilions of those out there. I'm 49, and so am always looking for that "miracle face cream", but so far the only product that ever has given me noticable results in the lessening of lines and wrinkles are the Aminogenesis products, and that's what I went back to, as I've used them for several years now.

I started using Creme De La Mer about 3 weeks ago and have 100% noticed a difference. I am 25 years old and have normal skin with the occasional pimple. I wanted something that would make my skin glow, and that is certainly what this stuff did. I had heard a lot of amazing things about Creme De La Mer but was hesitating due to the hefty price tag (1oz. is $125). Finally though, I stepped up to the plate and bought some.

First, let me say that a little goes a long way and if used correctly this 1oz. container should last 3-4 months. The first night of putting it on I felt an immediate difference. My skin felt light and I could feel it seeping in. I woke up with the softest skin ever. The creme itself is very thick so we need to work between your fingers before applying it.

For the past two weeks I have not used any foundation on my skin. I put a litte on a little bronzer and eye makeup and I am ready for the day. Even my hard-to-please mother noticed a difference. I went home...

Thank God, for the inventor of La Mer! I've tried everything.... and I mean everything, from generic Oil of Olay to Prada. ( Yes, Prada has skin care products) I had acne as a teenager that left one side of my face scarred. I continued to have acne up into my late 20's. When I got older I was faced with not clogging my pores or doing something about the fine lines? I chose the lines.This cream is truly a miracle. It doesn't clog pores, it minimizes scarring, you can put it under the eye, use it for chapped lips, etc.... it's expensive and worth every penny!

I have just turned 51 and have been interested in skin care products since my teens. After trying many many brands, both expensive and non-expensive, I truly believe that the entire line of La Mer products has made a substantial difference in the way my skin looks and feels. Although expensive, I feel it is worth the price. I have been using the line for about three years and people can see the difference. For example, if for some reason I changed my regime and tried something else that promised to be new and different and then went back to La Mer, friends inevitably asked what I had done to my skin. There is a radiance that comes through which is noticeable to me and a feeling when I touch my face, a look and a certain "polish" that helps me look at least ten years younger. There have been a few products recently introduced into the line - some I have tried and some I haven't but the basic creme de la mer is the product everyone should start with. ...

la mer is just terrible unless you have extremely dry skin. i recently read in a beauty magazine that the original formula contains mineral oil!!! no wonder my skin broke out after i used it. the formula is very thick, and they suggest you warm it between your hands before applying. im sorry, but before i crash, i want something that is low maintenance, and i dont want to feel like my skin is sticking to the pillowcase either. the original formula is just too thick and greasy feeling for my comfort. i believe the so called celebrity hype, is the real reason people use this. i just dont think it is worth the expensive price tag....

La Mer Creme de 2 oz /60 ml is the cream of the celebrities. Or was. It used to enjoy a huge celebrity following but these days, it has been replaced by newer, more advanced formulas. Still two ounces of this supposed miracle cream will set you back about about $200.00.

Is it worth it? Not for me, it wasn't.

The Cream

La Mer itself doesn't know how this cream works. From their website: Even now, it is not entirely clear how Crème de la Mer works. For us schooled in logic, it is something of a jolt to the imagination. But facts are facts and certainly the proof can be seen on the faces of those who use it.

I don't know about you but, if I am going to drop $100.00 an ounce on a cream, I would like to know how the stuff works.

My Use

But I bought it anyway. Everyone was buzzing about La Mer and I wanted to be one of those on the cutting edge of anti aging. This was when $200.00 for skin cream wasn't a big deal for me. Now, I wouldn't even consider it unless it was youth in a jar.
