A year ago I was introduced to this wonderful company known as Lush. Due to a high volume of people recommending Lush, I had to dip into this world and find out what the heck it was.

A quick visit to the Lush website, and I am greeted by photos and descriptions of soap, hair products, lotion, massage bars, bubble bars, bath bombs... galore.

Glorious day, what shall I treat myself to?

Oh I know, how about some freakin soap man?!

I have heard nothing but good things about this one particular bar of soap. It's called Honey I Washed The Kids. I find the name to be annoying, but whatever.

Appearance:

The site shows this honey colored bar of soap, with a amber glycerin topping. The topping is done up to look like bees wax.

What I Got:

Many complaints I have heard from fellow Lushies, is that the soap they receive looks nothing like the one they saw on the Lush website.

Honey I Washed The Kids however, looked 100% like the soap I was seeing on the site.

Instead of taking the entire 3.5 ounce bar...
...

I really love this Lush soap. I think it is the only soap from Lush that I have bought more than once. The scent is heavenly and I have to say that the soap lasts for quite as long time. It also doesn't leave a heavy residue in the tub as many of the other Lush products so....I am not complaining, I enjoy using almost the entire Lush product line less a few items....

OK- I am a LUSH addict- but it's because the products are unique.

Honey I washed the kids is a mild soap which smells fantastic- like toffee.

You only have to use a little, make sure you keep the bar dry between uses so it doesn't melt- it's too pricey to let the kids melt it during a bath.

I don't know if guys would like the scent- but women and kids adore it.
...

I walked into the LUSH store in Georgetown (DC), and I just had to smell every soap they had. They sell their soaps in pre-cut chunks of different sizes and weights, priced accordingly. None of the soaps in the store really smelled great to me until I found Honey I Washed the Kids. I bought a small chunk of it. I think I paid about $7.50.

Ingredients: Honey Water (Mel Aqua), Propylene Glycol, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Perfume, Beeswax (Cera alba), Sweet Orange Oil (Citrus dulcis), Bergamot Oil (Citrus bergamia), Aloe Vera Extract (Aloe barbadensis), Aloe cupensis), Sodium Chloride, Glycerin, EDTA, Tetrasodium Editronate, Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides), Titanium Dioxide.

It smells like vanilla and honey. It really does have a nice scent.

I used this soap for a week straight. Unfortunately the smell didn't really linger on my skin afterward. The soap also left my skin feeling tight and dry. You have......

webbiedee says "Cute soap for the kids!" about LUSH Honey I Washed the Kids Soap

This is a great soap. Fun for the kids or anyone! There's a honeycomb outside layer which scrubs and exfoliates, and the main part of the soap has a nice, soft honey scent. It leaves you feeling refreshed and doesn't dry out your skin or leave a residue. The one downside to the soap is that the honeycomb part sometimes falls off easily, but it stays in one piece so you can easily use it as a separate exfoliator....

PattyTherre says "Honey, did you wash the scent away from this soap?" about LUSH Honey I Washed the Kids Soap

Quick View

LUSH Honey I Washed the Kids Soap is woefully average and certainly not worth the steep price tag LUSH charges for it. I got mine as a sample with an order and used it today. Bland, I tell ya, bland!

Full Story

I read many positive reviews about this soap but honey isn't my favorite scent so I passed on buying it. I was happy to get a sample with my last order to see if maybe it had a caramel or candy scent. In fact, my little slab reminded me of a Bit O'Honey candy which I used to love. Alas, the scent was SO subtle that I was left disappointed.

My Use

I prepared for a candy or honey scent but I barely smelled anything at all! There was a slight hint of sweet honey that did smell like candy but it was so subtle that I barely detected it. Other people I know have said the scent of this soap is strong. Maybe I got a dud sample?

In the shower, it lathered a little which is par for the LUSH course. They are not known for their high lather soaps because they use mostly natural ingredients...
...
