LG Model LFX25950TT refrigerator. Slow making ice. Limited height for glasses in water/ice dispenser. You have to slant the glass and push on the switch with the back of the hand. Ice dispenser binds when bin is full. Having trouble with interior lights after 2 years and the worst problem is to get service and parts. LG does not allow local independent appliance dealers to sell their parts!!! Their website LGservice.com is worthless and I did not have success with online chat. The name has changed to LG but they are still GOLDSTAR.
...

ronhughes475 says "My LG french door has turned out to be a smoking pile of junk" about LG Refrigerator

We purchased an LG french door in 2007 for all the reasons that it got good reviews and now hate it for all the reasons plus a couple that it got bad reviews.

First off, the ice-maker is too small to keep up with summer ice usage. Secondly, the ice-maker failed within weeks, was replaced and failed again a few weeks later. At that point we just purchased a separate ice machine.

Third, everyone of the drawers is now broken in some way. The construction is poor and the components are cheap.

Fourth and most aggregating of all - we must use a hair dyer to thaw the freezer fan twice a week or the noise is deafening and the the refrigerator eventually quits working all together.

This appliance is clearly a poorly designed and poorly constructed machine. Neither Lg nor Home Depot were willing stand behind their product and do the right thing for us. So, needless to say I no longer do business with either company.

Soon I will be purchasing a new frig from some other manufacturer and...
...

lg refrigerator's are good except the water filters are not readiley avilable i/n my city,i calle dealers as far away as100 miles and got no results. i finally located one at a filter manafactuer jn north carolina,so i ordered 2 at an exorbinate price. i would suggest you check with your dealer before you purchase one of these refrigerator's. other than that i am satisfied with refrigerator. i also own 2 big screen tv's made by lg and have had no problem with either one.if lg would require their dealer's to stock a certain number of water filter's in stock at all times that would be great, and i would have no problem with purchaseing another refrigerator when the time comes to replace this one.
...

jeffrph says "would never buy another one" about LG Refrigerator

We bought LG model #LFX25960ST French Door style 2 years ago when we had our kitchen remodeled. It was a problem from day 1. All three doors developed rust on the outside of the "stainless stell doors" (which by the way are not supposed to rust. LG replaced the doors after fighting woth them for over 3 months. Then the icemaker stopped working, that was replaced twice. Thankfully still under warranty!. We an extended warranty from PC Richard and Son, that was the best thing we ever did. The icemaker stopped working again and this time the freezer stopped "freezing" all the food turned to mush. They tried to fix it again by replacing the icemaker, circuitboard and temperature sensors. It still didn't work properly. Then PC Richard came to the rescue and convinced LG that the refrigerator was not repairable and we received credit for 90% of the purchase price and bought a Samsung french door style. I'll let you know if 6 months how that worked out!
...

We bought a stainless steel side by side refrigerator 2 years ago and it stopped running on us. Repairman said it was the compressor and the part was under warrenty, but we have to pay $440 for labor. We paid and the compressor was installed a week later when it came in. Next day it wasn't working again and they came out and unclogged something in the compressor. Next day stopped working. They said it was a bad compressor, but they didn't have any more compressors. We had to fax information and sales receipt to LG customer service and they would get back to us in 48 hours. They didn't call us back for 4 business days and when we called the said they showed that they had compressors so they wouldn't replace ours. But the compressors won't be delivered to the US for 11 days. All they will say is "sorry for your incovenience" but won't do anything. We tried e-mailing someone higher up, but haven't heard anything back there either.

Our LG model LFC2576OSB french door refridgerator has been a problem from the start. The plastic sliding drawers broke - poor manufacturing of plastic rollers and hinges. The ice maker in the pull out freezer was replaced in the first month, works better now but ice gets knocked out everytime we open the freezer. I went online and read hundreds of reviews that describe a firehazard with the light staying on and burning the inside of the Fridge and all it's contents. I have unscrewed the light bulb in order to keep my home from burning down. I called LG and they said there is no preventative "fix" we can do to keep from becoming a statistic. Since my 1 year warranty is up they will not replace the drawers again, I have to buy new ones. A very expensive piece of junk.
...

We purchased a bottom freezer LS refrigerator with two upper doors in June, 2006 which was delivered to our home in August, 2006. Within 60 days of the warranty expiration the freezer froze up with ice and the unit shut down. Local service finally came and disassembled the complete freezer and removed a huge piece of ice that stopped the freezer fan. After they put it back together, it functioned well for 16 months and then shut down with "Er FF" displayed on the control panel. Calling LG's 24/7 customer service yeilded the information that the freezer fan is again stopped. They suggested unplugging the unit for 3 - 4 hours to allow it to defrost and then reconnecting the power. This did not clear the problem for us. Once LG's customer service determined that the unit was out of warranty, they were not very friendly. Naturally it quit on a Saturaday and it will take most of the week to get a repairman to come out next week. Monday, we will be looking at a replacement...
...

MPH says "LG Frig ...doors do not stay shut and it cost over $400 to fix! " about LG Refrigerator

We purchased an LG refrigerator a in December of 2006. The doors have not stayed shut well since we purchased it. When you would close one door the other would frequently pop open slightly.

I finally had a technician come out and it is going to cost us over $400 to fix, since the small cheap plastic piece that holds the door shut is part of the entire gasket unit. Very poor quality and construction. I am totally disappointed in the quality of LG products!
...

bigratman says "Do Not buy this product" about LG Refrigerator

I read reviews before I bought the LG brand... People who liked it loved it those that didn't like it absolutely hated it. I took a chance...BIG MISTAKE! We received it yesterday and had problems immediately. The water dispenser on the door is a waterfall! When you push the dispense button water cascades down the entire front of the freezer door and keeps on dribbling even after the dispenser button is released. It continues to leak down the door to the point where I have to put towels on the floor to catch the water. Also bothersome is the ice maker. It makes ice very slowly. So far only 6 cubes in a 12 hour period. At times it is rather noisy. I guess this is when the motor is running. Don't be swayed by the large capacity of this unit because in return you will get a large headache! ...

3 years and two new motors and a replacement of the internal sliding freezer guides.....all just after the initial warranty was up. I have only owned 2 refigerators in my life. A discounted hotpoint that I bought just after college for my first place. Upgraded when I got married and bought a bigger house to a french door/bottom freezer. About a year into having this LG product it began making a 'helicopter' sound. Called LG and they informed me that it was 4 days after the warranty expired and I was on my own. Luckily I still had a home warranty that would cover it. Replaced the motor. Thought that would be it for a while, generally fridges last several years until you have to replace something like that. A year later, same noise and no home warranty. Had to repair myself.

During both repairs, we transferred all the food to my 11 year old Hotpoint fridge in the garage that has never had a problem at all.

I cannot say it enough, do not buy a product from LG. Look at the consumer review on...
...
