We bought the top of the line LG dish washer and it looks great, has all the features you want. however, it is a poorly engineered unit that does not clean well, breaks often and has cost more than its original price in repairs. I wish we had stayed true to the GE profile series. LG=LOW GRADE

I purchased an LG dishwasher model LDF7811BB a little more than 2 years ago and the motor failed. I called LG service and was informed that the unit was out of warranty and was referred to a local repair provider. The provider confirmed that the motor had failed and the total would be $185 for a replacement motor/sump assembly and $150 labor. I purchased the part from an online LG parts supplier and did the repairs myself. The unit is back in operation.

I'm disappointed that the appliance failed after two years and it is doubtful that I would purchase an LG product again based on this experience. I question the quality and certainly question LG's commitment to its products and to its customers.

I got all new appliances. Went with LG. While I'm happy with the oven and the fridge., the dishwasher is worthless. I have to wash every single glass, every single time. I've started simply washing the glasses and mugs by hand. There is always dried on "gunk" in the botton and insides of the glasses. I've tried everything, rinse aid, loading VERY carefully, loading only half full...it doesn't matter what I do. This dishwasher is POORLY designed. Will not buy any LG appliance again.

Little more than 2 years ago we paid almost $900 for a beautiful LG dishwasher. The "beauty" ended just over one year later. Since then we have replaced the whole electronic board and the motor, twice. While we then got a good 6 months out of the repaired product (which really, in replacing all of those parts, should have been considered brand new), now the seal has apparently disintegrated and the machine is leaking water. Through research (that we should have done sooner) it appears that this is a common problem. I figure at this point we will get about $50 for it at the scrap metal yard and I can't even believe that we are probably looking at replacing this dishwasher, that was VERY $$$$ in my book, after slightly more than 2 years. Heck, the one we replaced lasted 17 and was probably about $150 as a builder's standard. I can't tell you enough times to stay away from this dishwasher....

I assumed it would be as well rated as the cheaper model, and I bought it on the spot. Well, it is pretty, but it doesn't clean dishes. It says it is super-quiet, but its noisy. The first time we used it, it made a burny smell. We thought it was just a "first time hot" smell. But the dishes were dirty. Not just poorly washed, but pieces of limp food laying on the glasses. The powdered soap wasn't even fully dissolved out of the soap dish. Okay, there's something wrong, so we called LG and they sent repairmen out. He replaced two pumps in the machine and recommended using liguid detergent. The next wash was a little better, but it still stank. I'll have to fast forward through the door replacement, the gasket replacement, the flooding of...

My strong suggestion is: "Do not buy an LG dishwasher!" We have the LG dishwasher model 6920 and it never cleaned dishes well; but it stopped cleaning even acceptably two weeks after we bought it. The authorized repairman came and said we had a bad motor. He ordered a new one and installed it. He said he had replaced at least one hundred LG motors and that he "hated" this dishwasher. Two days later, the newly installed motor started making the same whine-sound as the first. I called LG and explained why I was unhappy with their machine. They said they would not authorize a return unless the dishwasher was deemed "unrepairable" by one of their representatives. I explained that I thought they had a bad motor design and that the dishwasher would never run well for long. We bought it because it had a low decibel number. We now think that not just our model is a lemon, but all the LG dishwashers that use that quiet motor, which may be all of them.

We purchased an LG diswasher model LDE6920ST 2 months ago. It hasn't gotten the dishes clean yet. The serviceman has replaced the sump and the board and it still doesn't work. LG is stuck into this routine of sending service people out over and over rather than replacing the defective dishwasher. Everytime the service guy comes, he has to order parts that take forever to get here. I'm washing dishes by hand for the first time since 1977. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy an LG. Their service department isn't reliable.

I bought my LG a year ago and have been dismally dissapointed in it from the very beginning. It does not clean dishes that I pre-rinse and it leaves a cloudy film on everything. This was an expensive dishwasher and I expected a quality product. DON'T BUY THIS BRAND!!!!

Wish I hadn't listened to the salesman and purchased this-- such a letdown from my previous experience with a Kitchenaid dishwasher. Have had this serviced twice --- thank goodness I bought and extended warranty from the store, however it runs out next year. Also LG has had to sent out a replacement rack for the bottom and top racks due to parts breaking and replacement clips for the bottom rack to hold the adjustable tines in place. The drying cycle doesn't do a very good job as most items in the top rack need to go in my countertop drying rack to air dry or some silverware, bowls and cups need to be toweldried to be put away as I run out of space in my drying rack. The fuse can go out on this -- like mine did --- serviceman said normally they can replace in 20 minutes or less but LG buries in control board and you have to replace the whole board, which took over a week to get from LG and another week to have the serviceman come back... Run far away from this dishwasher...

My Fiance purchases all LG products for our kitchen remodel. Besides the problems with the refrifgerator day in and day out - the dish washer is better used as a dry rack when hand washing the dishes. We stated to noticed a helicopter landing pad noise that shakes the entire kitchen every time we wash dishes (issue one).....NONE of our dishes come out clean (issue 2). Food particles are stuck to the glasses(issue 3), a nasty residue-film is left on all glasses (especially the fine wear)(issue 4). We have to wash one load on strong cycle, 2 times to even get 3/4 of the load clean total waste of energy and not cost effective (issue 5). Prior to moving in with my fiance I had a "old school Kenmoore". That dishwasher was hands down A TOP PERFORMER than this SORRY excuse for a dishwasher, and it was about 10 years old. The selection buttons have already worn off (issue 6), so you have to remember what the cycle functions are......we've only had it for a year. It also has this powerful old......

We bought a new LG dishwasher and oven. 1 1/2 years later we have already had to have the dishwasher replaced (after approximately 8 service calls), 2 parts repaired on the replacement dishwasher and 2 service calls on the oven - - - - very inferior products with poor customer service!!!...

I purchased LG dishwasher, washer, dryer and refrigerator. All top of the line SS units. Trust me on this.......Not so top of the line! In fact, the cheapest unit I've ever owned worked way better. I bought these thinking they would look so pretty in my home. Didn't consider that they might make my house stink.

Buy LG dishwasher if you desire to remove the dishes from the dishwasher and handwash them. For those that come semi clean, they will need to be dried because even after LG replaced the entire front panel of my dishwasher with a reengineered front, it worked even worse. The dishwasher has an odor now.

Buy LG clothes washer if you want your clothes be washed with rotten water because the washer doesn't drain properly. This causes the clothes to stink after you dry them. (which takes at least three cycles in the beautiful but not efficient LG clothes dryer because the sensor doesn't work after about a year). Even the LG repairman told me that LG had a significant...

We purchased all new LG appliances - Fridge, Range, Microwave, Dishwasher.

I installed them. The Fridge door mounted control panel was defective from the get go.

Emailed LG - no reply. Called Home Depot, they sent out a repair tech who ordered the fridge part. He looked at the dishwasher and said "well that's how they operate" - WRONG. He recommended Cascade detergent and Jet dry - both of which we are using.

The dishwasher, model LDF6920ST looks beautiful, stainless steel, hidden controls and matches the other appliances, it's also very quiet. However my 10+ year old basic model Whirlpool worked much better. The LG leaves food on the dishes, what it removes it deposits on the back surfaces then it dries it on. The spray is so weak that the pop open door (vertical) soap compartment will still have detergent inside after a TWO HOUR power scrub cycle. Thank God I didn't have them haul away the old appliances. My wife is about to make me re-install the old Whirlpool.

Our first choice was another...

We bought an LDF 7811 ST, it was $1000 and it was horrible from the very beginning. It never really dried well. After 6 months it was no longer washing well either and then we got an error message so we had to call for a repair. The repair guy opened it and said that it would take a month for parts (we hand washed for a month) and they replaced EVERYTHING except the tub! The wire harness had melted into the acoustic material and the repair guy said they had recalled it because of fire issues. Within weeks it was obvious it wasn't ever going to dry well. After another 3 or 4 months, it was so bad that we were rewashing by hand about 50% of all the dishes and having to dry 70%. We called LG and they sent out another repair and he told us that this model was the worst model out and that LG was high on the repair list. He said that parts are very hard to get and often take 3-4 weeks. When he finally got the heater part he installed it and turned it on and it flooded our kitchen and leaked through...

LG LDS 5811ST dishwasher I have had nothing but problems with this $900 LG dishwasher. I had a new pump and motor sent as my dishwasher was out of warranty at 2 years. I paid another $100 for labor. Now for 6 months I get more angry every time I wash dishes before I put them in this expensive drainer.
