By far the BEST part about building our own house was getting to pick out the washer & dryer. I did so much research and this was the baby I fell in love with. What a machine!! So the positives...quiet, efficient, versitile, sexy and beastly. Here's what I mean: I actually grabbed my CAR MATS one day and threw all FOUR of them into the washer. Put the washer on Heavy Duty cycle and an hour later, I had mats that looked like new. This puppy will wash ANYTHING!!!

Sometimes washing machines rock the house while on their spin cycle - not this LG! Nice and quiet, doesn't rattle you out of your seat.

I love all of the different options for washing stuff. (Notice I didn't just say clothes!) Hot and cold are a thing of the past! Heavy duty? Sure. Gentle? Beginner's stuff! Play around with the 'antibacterial' option, or the 'extra rinse' for new baby clothes. This LG Washing Machine is probably the best money I've ever spent. (And it wasn't even that expensive!!)

By the way, they aren't kidding...

I purchased the LG Front Load washer in October 2005. I have had problems with mildew around the rim since then. LG tells me to clean it out once a week with bleach. September 2009, it broke. It was still under warranty with hhgregg. hhgregg has been to my house 4 times and has been unable to fix it. They say it has a "bad board". LG has sent replacement parts, twice, to my house. Neither of them have fit this washer. It has been over 20 days and I am still making trips to the laundromat. I will not buy another LG product.

Over all the washer is great. I like the idea that I can put bigger then normal loads in my washer now. However the one draw back that drives me nuts is that liquid softners go down between the rubber gasket and get gummy after awhile. Or if you leave a load in over night by the next morning they are smelling something terrible

WOW! I can say I will never own another washer that isn't front loading. For those of us that are busy moms, if you have little ones....this is great! My little one spends an unbelievable amount of time, squatting down, watching the clothes spin. I'm not sure how much I would have paid for this washer if I had known these things...lol. I know the manufacturer recommends a concentrated detergent, I just use regular liquid with no problems.

This LG Front Load Washer is the best washing machine I have ever used. It has a large tub and everything comes out super clean. I love that it has many wash settings. I can choose sanitize for my sheets, heavy duty for my towels and allergen for my slip covers (I have a dog). It also comes with a handy steam fresh setting for my clothes that are dry clean only. I can safely freshen them up between cleanings.

I was disappointed at first on the cost of the detergent that is recommended for these machines, but it is so efficient that it uses only a little bit of detergent. With the dispensers, it makes it easy to not use alot of detergent, bleach and softener. This makes it very cost effective. It's also cost effective you can was large loads. Since using this machine, I have cut down the amount of loads I do nearly in half and have saved on the water bill.

I do wish that the sound alerting you that the load is done was louder. I have my machine in the basement and...

I am so happy with the cleaning results of this machine. It is a bit noisy, and the wash time is a bit longer that usual; but the clothes are clean. The wring cycle is also excellent and I now find that the dryer uses less time.

LG front-loading washers are very attractive and they work very well when they aren't broken. However, once you get a code that indicates your machine requires service, your nightmare begins. If your machine is over one year, you will need to argue that certain parts are still covered under a 2-year and 7-year warranty, depending upon the part, and you will need to argue this each and every time you have to call. Oh, did I forget to mention, you'll be making numerous phone calls?

During your numerous phone calls, after you argue your warranty, the script they follow says "The technician who does the parts ordering for your service provider is unavailable, so unfortunately I have no way of finding out anything about your service." I have figured out this is just a standard response because I have called my service provider immediately after calling LG customer service and the parts-ordering technician answers the phone. The service provider, however, is also unable...

I have had quite a few washers in my day and I love, love love, did I forget to mention love(?) my LG Frontloader. I have gotten more laundry washed more effectively than before for way less overhead. The way it assesses the water needed and recycles it for each load is amazing. Less water is needed than with traditional machines. The duration of the load is also determined by sensors. Energy efficient and thorough too, you just can't beat a deal like this one. It pays for itself within the first year. I am definitely getting more bang for the buck. In it's efficient manor of cleaning the clothes, it is more gentler on the clothing - protecting the fabric's fibers. Clothing lasts longer - yet another way you save money using this machine. Let's see, the cost of electricity, water, clothing and oh, yes detergent are all severely cut. The laundry detergent is greatly concentrated and has none of the fillers you'll find in traditional laundry detergent. You use very little and it gets...

The LG front load wasing machine is a must if you have alot of laundry and children. The washing machine can fit in so much laundry per load, It really cuts down on the number of washes i do a week. I always put the spin on the highest spin cycle because that also reduces the amount of electricity my dryer uses. I also use often the sanitary cycle when i am washing my childrens clothes, there are so many germ son thier clothes and bedding that i know the sanitary will reduce the germs and allergens.

The LG washer is a very dependable heavy duty washer which I have used for 5 years now with minimal problems. I have had one problem as I cannot seem to wash just one item becuase it will not spin properly. But other than having to wipe the rubber seal in the front after every wash to keep it cleann it has been a very nice washer and it holds alot of clothes at one time! I love the fact that it does not have an agitator which tends to ruin some fine washables. And we put our machine up on a pedistal made from wood and covered with ceramic tile. It seems steady but I try to spin using the next to the strongest spin cycle because the faster spin cycle sounds very loud! I do like my LG washer though! I have had other wahsers and this one has held up longer without any major problems and the service plans are affordable too. We are going into our sixth year owning it and it still looks like a new appliance!

OK FOLKS -- LISTEN UP !! I had heard of the smell that develops in this washing machine so set my brain off to solve it. Simple solution ... actually I should register this idea as it works AND costs all of about a dollar to solve. LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN. Now before you get your "panties in a wad telling me it will get in the way = LISTEN and READ ON. You purchase a small magnet - with a hook on it - and put it on top of the washng machine. You take a small bungee cord and attach it to the magnet, with the other end holding the washing machine door open a bit. WOW - Simple. Ya know when you had a top loader you probably never closed it (I did not anyway) so it did not get smelly. Quick and simple ... and your washing machine BREATHES .... MMM Fresh Air ... and no mildew smell. TRY IT. Oh by the way. use plain white vinegar in place of expensive fabric softners. It will clean the washer, and remove the soap from clothes. Do not tell Downey or Bounce...

I have recently purchased one of these, washer and the matching dryer. ALthough i hate to part with that much money and i wish they were less expensive, I can say that they are worth every penny. Easy to use, very quiet and work really well. i would recommend this product and have to my friends.

I talked my husband into replacing our 4 year old kenmore washer & dryer because they were just too noisy and they had an odor even after scrubbing clean. I talked him into replacing them with LG washer. At first he was not thrilled because of the price but after we got them he did notice that the electric cost went down. The clothes were getting dry in the same time or faster than the washer was running. I really enjoy and like the fact that there is a delay time of up to 19 hours. I use this feature a lot. Before I go to bed I will load the washing machine and set for a 2 or 3 hour delay, so our son will go to sleep before it starts running. When I get up in the morning, I move the laundry to the dryer and start it. I reload the washing machine and put on about an 8 hour delay so that the clothes will finish washing about the time I walk into the house after work, so the clothes are not sitting all day mildewing. I come home and move the laundry again and start another load,...

The LG Front Load WM2487H does do a great job washing. The only real problem we have is it gets clogged and there is a foul smell coming from the rubber that just inside the door. We have pets in the house. one dog and two cats, and not to mention we have two adults and four kids so we have to drain the washer and run it a couple of times and drain again in order to get the clog out to start washing again. So if you don't have a drain in the floor and you have pets I don't suggest getting this. There will be a lot and I do mean a lot of water that will come out of the washer. But if you do have it in the basement and there is a drain in the floor near by it's a great washer to have.

It does take about an hour to wash a typical load but it does hold a lot of clothes per wash. I have had large capasity washers before but this will hold 2 loads of the other machines in one load easily.

Super LG Front Loader. Couldn't believe how white the white came out and how bright the colors are. Very economical with water so actually saves me money on my water bills.
