We bought an LG TROMM washer and dryer 2 years ago. We despise them. Having had a Kenmore for 15+ years with no problems, the LG is a SAD, SAD, SAD comparison. If you do not take your clothes out of the washer right away, they will smell and you have to wash them again. This is because water builds up in the unit and turns stale fast. So if you do not do a tub clean with bleach frequently then the unit smells. The dryer has paint chipping off on the inside rim of the door frame. Ridiculous for something that is just barely 2 years old.My former Kenmore units looked brand new even though they were 15 years old. Save yourself aggravation and buy something else. LG is horrible.

I bought a LG washer 3 years ago and the exterior of the machine is rusting. Under the soap and bleach dispenser the the paint is bubbling, peeling and badly rusting. I have called LG numerous times and found they will not stand behind thier product when there is a defect. Before you buy LG washers remember I told you so.

I have a LG Tomm front load washer and dryer and it is safe to say that it is broke more than it works. I would not take another LG if they gave it to me for free.

The LG Tromm Washer if a piece of junk! It makes my clothes look grungy even adding bleach don't help; my laundry still looks grungy, and be careful because if there is some bleach left in the tray from the last load of laundry then your next load of darks or brights laundry will be ruined. Now I am getting an awful smell coming out of the washer and it is making my clothes stink, I even tried to clean the rubber seal and still it smells bad. I hate this machine, I wish I would had kept my old machine.

I've had the LG TROMM washer for over a year now and haven't had any maintenance issues (knock on wood). I think it works great. This is the first really expensive washer that I've ever owned (I mean costing over $400). I did notice, like many, that if you leave clothes in for too long before putting them in the dryer, they smell awful and have to be rewashed. I also sometimes leave the door ajar to air it out. HOWEVER, I have heard this complaint about a lot of front loading washers. I use mine stacked but am in the process of redoing the laundry room and will move it side-by-side. (I love that we can just swap the control panel on the dryer!). I love the selection of wash settings and will soon be putting this washer to the true test when I start using cloth diapers.

My husband and I bought the LG Tromm washer and dryer four years ago, after we became parents and I'm not a fan. Like others, I have had the smell problem and have to leave my door open after each wash load. I still have this problem after using HE soaps which are supposed alleviate the issue. I have a Bosch washer and dryer (that is 9 years old and made in Germany) in my guest house and they have become the machines I use most often. This Korean made crap is something I would NOT recommend, even to my worst enemy.

My LG WM1814CW is ALMOST 4 years old and they want $300 to repair it......Drum stopped turning and flashed error code LE which ended up being a bad control board and sensor. DO NOT BUY!!! Have had problems since the 1st day.

I have had the w/d pair of LG Tromm for about 2 years. The dryer is fine, but the washer is not. The washer always cleaned well enough, that was never the problem, although the length of wash time, even on short wash, and the amount of vibration was interesting. The first easily noticable thing was how on opening the door after washing, clean clothes would fall out onto the floor. I don't like FL just for that reason alone. As well, bleach can be a real problem. I wondered why some of my clothes were becoming bleach damaged when no bleach had been added to the wash, I realized the liquid bleach container still had traces of bleach in it which came out in future loads. BE CAREFUL ABOUT USING BLEACH, YOU WILL RUIN THE CLOTHES IN THE NEXT LOAD. About a month ago the washer began smelling of mildew. I had never had a problem with that in all the time beforehand. It is a real problem, the gasket is sludgy, there is slime on the underside of the drum that I can't reach in...

LG TROMM Washer - Front Load (and accompanying LG Dryer)

Purchased this expensive washing/drying duo and have had nothing but problems from the get go. Smelly clothes have been something that I would routinely blame on not putting them in the dryer fast enough but even a wash from the evening started in the dryer the next morning shouldn't cause a smell like that!

Next, the washer eventually started leaking. I thought perhaps one of the kids, we have three, messed with the front-end door but after reading review upon review upon review about a leaky front door seal with no apparent wear or tear, I realized I was wrong.

The dryer has been repaired twice and sits now ready for a third repair. It's the same thing and I have been, again, errantly blaming the older kids for not cleaning the lint trap. However, after having freaked out twice about a $300+ repair bill for the dryer and sitting here now wondering whether it's even worth it to repair it again ... I am realizing that...

LG Tromm Front Loading Washer - DO NOT BUY THIS APPLIANCE OR ANY OTHER LG APPLIANCE!!! We were suckered in by the Best Buys folks and bought the washer, dryer, fridge, and TV. WE've had problems with ALL 4!! The washer is horrible. It wreaks of mildew and it leaks. There is mold all over the seal, and no amount of bleach or manual cleaning gets rid of it. it's a flawed design. Same with the fridge. LG IS CRAP! RUN AWAY! Don't listen to the sales people. They are either getting kick backs or don't know what they're talking about. ...

You are better off buying somthing else than this machine.. It worked really well when it worked. Not worth the money. Had the main board go out and it has to go to the dump. cost me big bucks and it should of lasted longer than a couple of years You think that you would get what you payed for. I guess I got scwewed on this one. I have a trom LG washer front load x large capasity WM1814CW All I here is sorry but? But? BUT. ya!. Thanks for nuthing....

I purchased the red washer/dryer pair (WM2487HRM) in November 2006 for our new house. It worked well for us, up until last week when we noticed a pool of water that had started under the machine. Web searches show that this has been a common complaint on this model. Most posts suggest that the front door seal is leaking, this however was not my problem. I decided to take the machine apart in order to avoid a costly service call and discovered that the water was leaking- ever so slowly- from what looks like the "steam generator" at the top of the machine.

Therefore if other people are having troubles with their WM2487HRM or WM2487HWM machines leaking water mysteriously, try replacing the steam generator unit. You can see a picture of this part by googling 3111ER1001D (labeled ever so helpfully as the "Case Assembly"). Mine was leaking at the bottom seam between the plastic and metal -- remember that there is LIVE electricity in this area- do not touch while the unit is plugged......

We purchased our washer and dryer from Home Depot with an extended warranty.

It is one year and a few months old and the pump is going! The extended warranty is absolutely a nightmare. The worst service ever! I will not get into it, but please think about another model and service. The inside of the door has some plastic rubber and the lint gets in their and get stinky. They suggest leaving the door open after each use? Plus they now have little tablets to put through a cycle without clothes to get rid of the horrible odor.

Just all around not good!

SEARS CANADA - EXCELLENT SERVICE and i would purchase the best now, regardless of price. This has been the worst experience.

I hate to be the odd man out here - but the LF TROMM front load washer has proven to be the worst purchase I've ever made for household appliances. We purchased Washer/dryer combo with their over-priced pedestals and the dryer has been trouble since day 75 with no support from LG and the washer smells, doesn't drain well and I was told by LG its a common problem - their solution - I must leave washer door open after each use/ wipe out with bleach at least once a week and run an empty load wiht bleach solution . Teh three flange rubber gasket they have installed in all units to eliminate an earlier designs leak issues hold lint, pet and human hair and foster mold and mildew. Why am I washing my washer? Well I'm not - back to a top load (probably Speed Queen or Frigadaire) with fewer bells and whistles - less cost and less electronics to go awry. I don't need to drive my washer - just wash clothes!
