DannyBoy1 says "Krups FME2 A Possessed Coffee Pot...Beware!" about Krups FME2 Coffee Maker

When we fist got the Krups FME2 it worked like a "normal" coffee pot. After about a week, it's brewing duration grew by about ten minutes. But if this were the ONLY problem, I would not have taken the time to even review it.

However, this coffee pot "thinks" for itself, brews coffee when not even programed and beeps in the middle of the night to let you know it just made you a fresh pot at 3:30am!

I think it needs a priest, because it is truly possessed! Frankly, I HATE this machine, not only is the carafe's pot only worth 3 "real" mugs of coffee. But the loading reservoir is really narrow and I am forever spilling water all over the counter.

The locking lid on the carafe is ok, but the pot's "lip" is terrible at getting the water into the machine. It has the most vague of instructions written in forty languages and does not even tell you how to tun off that insistent beeping!

So if you are into possessed kitchen appliance's this is your baby. But if you want a your cup...
...

Krups FME2 - I Love the features and the coffee it makes.. Just wish it was reliable. I'm on my 5th one.. 1st lasted 9 months and went wacky ... 2nd would not keep coffee hot. 3rd was bad from day one.. smelled of hot plastic and coffee was too hot... 4th just failed after 4 months... say no water when it's full... I'm off to Bed Bath and Beyond to trade it in (AGAIN)

This will be my last one if it fails... I hope Krups reads this...
...

This isn't my first Krups pot or small appliance. I keep coming back to them for dependable, easy to use machines. So when my last one died after4 years, I was thrilled to find the Krups FME2 coffee maker. I think this pot brews faster than others I've seen, it's stylish and doesn't overcrowd or stand out on my counter. If it lasts as long as my last Krups one, I'll be buying another Krups coffee maker. It's also seems pretty stain resistant. The plate cleans up well and I haven't really seen much discoloration in the filter or the carafe. Even though I don't use the progammable feature, I'm glad it's available
...

Bught my Krups coffee maker for less than 15 dollars, including tax. It has a delay feature, digital clock, mines brews 4.5 cups of Hot!! coffee, it came in four colors, and shuts off if you forget to turn it off. I am looking for another just like it in black..after three years, I just broke the pot when I dropped a glass bowl on it after washing it. I threw the pot away but I'm still using the coffe maker by holding my coffee mug where the coffee dispenses....

namanari says "Brew nice coffee" about Krups FME2 Coffee Maker

I'm one of those pepple who love bargin hunter. I found this coffee maker markdown for $20. I need new coffee maker anyway but i was skeptical at first about what wrong with it, is it refurbished, new, used , return or what? While talking to manager , I found out that it was the brand new last unit in the store and it was on the shelf for a while and they just recieved more other model coffee maker and need to make room. Lucky me!!

it was easy to use, make a great coffee. From what i paid for i think it 's absolutely great buy but why i gave it only 4 stars. Considering if i bought this unit for full price as the rest of you , I expect it to be more quality of heavy duty plastic they use. I like that it has build in water filtration but that mean you have to change the filter after approximately every 2-4 months depend on the condition of your water. i don't know about other ppl but at my home we already have filter water so why would i need to double filter water for my coffee....
...

This is the best coffee maker I have ever owned, and I have had a lot of them in the past 60 years. My only problem, and it is very minor, is our electricity often goes off due to thunderstorms and then I have to reset the clock. Makes delicious coffee. If anything should happen to my Krups, I would definitely buy another....

I received a very nice gift after a group of friends were over & went to get coffee & find out it was cold. Turns out my Black and Decker only has a 2 hour time on a pot, which normally we drink in 2 hours. This is a $50 unit not $20 for Black & Decker so yes, it should be doing everything we dream about for great coffee. SO read on to what Krups tells you about it:

Full standard 12-cup capacity with 60 oz. water reservoir

1100 watts provides fast efficient brewing

Programmable clock to set the daily start time of the brew cycle - coffee is ready when you are

Programmable auto-off from 1 - 5 hours

Flavor control aroma switch maximizes flavor extraction

DuoFilter water filtration system removes chlorine for better taste and reduces mineral deposits for longer machine life

Cascading brew head delivers a shower of hot water to ensure even flavor extraction

Pause and serve feature allows interruption any time during the brew cycle - just remove the carafe

Empty water reservoir detection...

...
