awareness says "an affordable grinder great for coffee or dried herbs" about Krups Cofee Grinder - 203-42

The Krups F203 Fast-touch Coffee Grinder is so basic and affordable, it's hard to beat.

The Krups grinder is perfectly designed for a single pot of brewed coffee (4 to 10 "cups" in a standard drip or cone-style carafe). Fill the beans to the (diagonal) brim—it works better if you don't overfill, so try not to make it a heaping load of beans.

The Krups grinder is versatile. When I found this puppy, I picked up two: one for coffee (in black) and one for dried herbs (in white). At the time, it was tough to find fresh rosemary, and grinding dry rosemary leaves in a mortar and pestle is like trying to corral a circus of fleas—the little buggers keep jumping out! The Krups grinder is perfect, turning the dried rosemary into a fine powder which lends to being ground into lamp loin chops along with a bit of salt and ground black pepper prior to broiling.

The Krups grinder is durable. I've been using both of mine for close to a decade now, and they're still tip-top.

Finally, the Krups grinder...
...

I bought a Krups tyoe 203 coffee grinder about a year ago. It seems to be booby trapped so you can't open it to repair is. There is no info that I can find that shows one how to get it open. Something is loose inside and making so much rackett that it is unusable. The grinding is becoming poor as well. When I bought it, I thought it was great. Now, I think it's a rip-off. I can't believe the company designed it so it can't be repaired!

I just read the other reviews. I can't believe the comments. This grinder hasn't been around for 10-20 years! Maybe 2. Are people just making this stuff up?
...

Ever since I purchased my Krups Coffee Grinder - 203-42, I have been enjoying the greatest coffee ever! I used to think the brand of coffee was the most important factor in perking a great pot. My mind has changed! The key is having fresh coffee! I grind it as I need it, and my Krups Coffee Grinder takes all the guesswork out of consistency for the best flavor. The aroma as the beans are grinding puts me in a "cafe" sort of mood, and I eagerly await the finished product. I bought a grinder for a friend of mine, too. She thinks of me every time she takes a sip of coffee -- and her friends think she is a genius! If only they knew it was Krups who makes us so smart!! I noticed there were comments about cleaning the grinder. I have found it isn't necessary to clean the Krups Coffee Grinder. The texture of the coffee is such that it empties easily from the grinder. A quick upside down shake of the cup and the grounds are gone! This is a great product!!
...

I had bought two cheaper models (Hamilton Beach & Sunbeam) both lasted less than a year. I have now had my Krups coffee grinder for about 6 years now. It's reliable & the coffee beans grind pretty evenly. Cleanup is fairly easy you can wipe it out with a damp cloth. Just make sure you have it unplugged. I would definetely buy another one. Stay clear of cheaper models they won't last....

I love this coffee grinder! I've had it for 10 years and it's still going strong. You can't beat the price and it really isn't much louder than any other coffee grinder I've seen. It is a tiny bit small if you want to use it for a full pot of coffee, but it's doable. We usually use it for about 8 cups and it's perfect. I haven't had problems cleaning it, I just take a damp paper towel and wipe it out. I would recommend this product to any coffee drinker!...

Have owned one of these units for close to 20 years, and it continues to grind-on!

Although I don't use it on a daily basis, and it gets used only for coffee, I find it easy to use. If I grind the beans too long, though, the coffee is harder to get out of the grinder.

I've considered buying another one of these specifically for grinding herbs, but may opt for a mini food processor instead that has removable blades for cleaning that I can get on sale for less than $10.
...

This inexpensive little machine is durable and reliable. It's perfect for grinding a potful's worth of beans fresh from the freezer. If you're looking to grind the whole bag of beans at once, then you'll probably be disappointed. But if you like your coffee fresh and want to quickly and easily grind enough coffee for a potful, this unit is perfect!

Other than it's small size, the only negative is that it is quite loud, but that's a small price to pay for a durable unit that is easily stowed away in a nook or cranny!
...

I have had this grinder for several years... More than 10 I am thinking. It still runs like it was brand new. Definately a good quality product and you get your moneys worth out of it. The only thing is that after all these years of wrapping the cord around it the cord is beginning to separate from the base but I will be replacing it with another one just like it!...

Okay, if you're really into coffee and insist on grinding your own, this one probably isn't going to do it for you. And, if you're the kind of person who wants to grind a pound at a time, this certainly isn't going to work for you.

But, if you like to keep some specialty beans stashed away in the fridge and occasionally brew a pot or less at a time it could be for you. It's an inexpensive little grinder that takes up very little room and it can pop into action at a moments notice.

Why do I own it?

Good question. Honestly, I don't often feel the need to grind my own coffee at home. The Xenos drink mass quantities of coffee at all hours of the day and night. When I do buy whole bean coffee, I generally grind it at the store or shop. A pound of coffee seldom lasts more than 3 or 4 days here so stored in an airtight container there is little need to grind it at home.

The truth is this is one of the several dozens of kitchen gadgets accumulated by my mother over her lifetime and one...
...
