angelbabefwc says "Great for mild to strong chewers" about Kong

This toy is great for most dogs and some strong chewers. I love that you can put treats or peanut butter inside of the treat as well. It will keep your dog busy for hours trying to get it out. My dog is a rediculous chewer and he of course tore it apart in about an hour. How ever most strong chewers can't dent this toy, I guess it really depends on the dog. They also have many different style kong toys so your pet wont get bored with it.
...

amieratliffbarnes says "Indestructable with 2 BIG dogs" about Kong

We bought one of these on recommendation from our dog trainer over 6 years ago. We stuffed it with peanut butter & us or our dogs have never been the same since!

It keeps our 2 big dogs busy for hours. It's so nice to have, especially when we are having guests over. Our oldest dog is a Bearded Collie mix & his sister is a Staffordshire Terrier mix, which is a type of Pit Bull. If she can't tear through it, no dog can.

We put treats, peanut butter, cheese, dog snacks, or any other treat in there for them & they just love it. We have even caught them chewing on it when there is nothing in there for them.

We even had a Great Dane that had one. Surprisingly, she was very gentle with hers! We would suggest any new dog owner to purchase one of these to keep their beloved pets happy for hours.

The best thing about this Kong dog toy is the price. They are very reasonably priced, so you can buy one for the house & one for the outdoors. I've even noticed that they now have...
...

myrotz says "The Kong provides lots of fun filled with peanut butter frozen" about Kong

I have Rottweilers and went through every toy out there to provide them with stimulation. They have even destroyed the "indestructable" balls used for horses. Being an intelligent breed they will find something to do if you can't find something for them. I discovered the Kong toys and hit the jackpot. The kong is great for retrieving because you never know where it will bounce so it keeps them on their toes. I fill them with small teats and cheez whiz for short term entertainment. Then I got to thinking about what to do to make the fun last. The answer I came up with was to fill the Kong with peanut butter and then freeze it. It takes them a long time to lick out the peanut butter because they can only lick it out as it thaws out.

The only downside to using the peanut butter is possible weight gain. If this is a concern use the all natural kind.

I am a professional dog trainer and do behavior modification. I have tried all kinds of toys for dogs that have high intelligence and drive. The...
...

We had gotten a Chocolate Lab for our kids and every single toy we bought her she would chew up within 5 minutes. We finally stumbled across theis Kong toy and we have had it for over a year and she still hasn't chewed it up. Of course there are cheaper toys out there that you can buy for you dog but if they chew them up then its really not cheaper. Get your dog and it will be cheaper in the end since they can't chew it up and your dog will love you for it.
...

I have so many kongs in my house as I do tennis balls. If they are not chasing one its the other. Noiseless, durable and easy to clean. They can be launched pretty far to play chase. One of the best features are filling it with peanut butter putting it in the freeze to keep your dogs at a later time to keep them BUSY for hours. Oh and you have to love the colors.
...

I have a german shephard who doesn't like to play with toys. All I have to do is put some peanut butter in the KONG and she forgets all about not liking toys. She will be busy with that until she's gotten every drop of peanut butter out. Then she'll cross her legs and wait for what the rest of the day holds. Even when the grandpups come over that toy gets used.
...

lindsayrocksosu says "The only toy my dog has not been able to destroy or eat!" about Kong

I have a german shorthair and english pointer mix. She is the most high energy dog and runs all day long. Even when she was a puppy, we'd give her "puppy" toys and she would tear them to pieces in seconds. We bought other toys that had squeakers in them thinking she would enjoy those and not tear them apart. She tore them apart and tried to eat the squeaker, making our choice in dog toys a safety issue on top of it all!

The first day we had the Kong she tried to tear it apart and we just let her play with it all afternoon. When I checked on her in the evening, it was still in one piece and I was super impressed, so I observed her for awhile. She bit, tore, scratched, even got the neighbor's dog to grab an end of it and pull like a canine tug of war to rip the thing apart and nothing worked. IT WAS STILL IN ONE PIECE!!! The best part is that she tired herself out trying to destroy something that is indestructible! There have been some good puppy naps because of this...
...

DeniseJS says "Indestructible When it Comes to My German Shepherds Jaws!" about Kong

With a 90 lb German Shepherd who pretty much destroys every toy I give him, these KONG toys are a money saver!! They are the only toy that my dog cannot destroy in a matter of minutes; plus, I can tuck little treats inside that keep my dog occupied for a really long time.

I've purchased several of these KONG toys in various sizes and while they are pricier than other dog toys, they are EXCEPTIONALLY durable and worth the extra cost! My dog loves to chew and I'd rather he chew on the KONG than on my table leg.

I would happily pay $10 or more for a toy that is this durable and long lasting. Plus, my pup really enjoys it. He loves it when I freeze peanut butter inside the KONG or tuck a few meaty treats in there for him to try to dig out. He'll chase it too if I toss it for him, especially if there are tasty goodies inside :)

If you have a power chewer who constantly destroys every dog toy you give him, I strongly encourage you to try a KONG toy. They are so durable, I can't believe I never...
...

shank23 says "The toughest dog toy ever!" about Kong

I think the kong is the best toy for a dog . I have an American Bulldog that has eaten every other toy we have bought him except the kong. He loves playing with it and he also likes to hide it from people. My dog loves his kong sos much he takes it outside with him and brings it back in when he is done. Also when he wants to get you to play with him he throws his kong at you. My dog is only 5 months old and that is the only toy he will play with because his jaw is so strong and he destoys everything else. I would tell any dog owner to get a kong it lasts forever and your dog will have a ball playing with it.
...

jennifo says "The Kong is the greatest thing EVER!" about Kong

We bought the kong about 6 months ago, and we use it ever day. My dogs love it and like another person said it is the only toy that my dogs have not destroyed. You can buy special stuff to put inside of it (in a cheese whiz looking can) but it was too pricey in my eyes. We use peanut butter and milkbones most of the time and occassionally plain yogurt and we freeze it. I know you are probably thinking how good is the peanut butter for dogs when given frequently. Well, that is what I thought, so I asked our vet, he said it was fine in small amounts. Also, it should not become a problem unless the dog starts gaining weight (in that case I would buy the canned stuff, they a weight control one). Oh ya, it is also great for crate training dogs. I have one dog that is 6 years old and never crate trained until we recently got another dog. The 6 year old was unsure at first but now, he knows that if you say crate, that he will get the kong. So he will go running for the crate...
...

Mommy2Ciara says "Why is my puppy the only one who DOESN'T love the Kong?" about Kong

I'm not sure WHY my labrador puppy isn't into the Kong- she loves to chew, she loves to eat, but she prefers my daughter's oh so expensive Melissa and Doug kitchen set equiptment to the Kong. We have three different Kongs- two puppy sizes and one medium adult Kong. She doesn't care much for any of them. She never chews them, she will only chase it down for a minute before losing interest. They seem like a great idea, and all the puppy owners I've talked to LOVE the Kong. My sister's puppy loved hers and has a great time trying to get the treat out. The bigger Kong has a squeaker in it, but still no interest. I really am not sure why- she loves her other toys to no end, and will play for hours with her rope, her quacking duck, and my daughter's toys. Little People are huge treat, but the Kong is not? Very strange.

Anyways, haven't tried the other Kong products because we were disappointed with the reception of the original, but I'm beginning to think she just is going to have very expensive......
