I recently rescued two pitbull puppies and they sure grow fast. I started to see that they were chewing on everything under the moon and sun. I started to search around the pet stores and found a toy chewy called a kong... so i purchased it and then i saw that you can buy things to put inside. How fun is that not only do they chew but they have something to chew from but something INSIDE to chew to! they love it to death and it withstands thier teeth!
...

My Lab didn't like the Kong Red Tuffy toy. She took it from me and played with it for less then 10 mins and never picked it up again. It was surprising because she's really not very discriminating when it comes to toys but she definately is not interested in this one.
...

n0n3ed2rush says "Small dogs favorite toy!" about Kong Red Tuffy

I bought one of these kongs for my recently bought puppy who is a chipom. At first I thought she would be to small to play with a toy like this but noticed they made kongs quite small too. The size availability is very nice with such a type of toy. They also have a selection of types of kongs too.

The kong I bought was for puppies. It came in light pink and light blue - I think you can figure out why that is. :) Its very small, but has treats that fit inside, and are just as hard for the small dog I own and for the larger dogs I own.

I really enjoy how it keeps her busy so she stays out of trouble. During the puppy years they usually chew quite often. She loves my wood dresser, the corners her favorite. Its quite noticable haha.

The product may come off as kind of expensive but it last very long, unless you own godzilla which is true for some of you out there, my appologies. Worth every penny in my opinion! The dogs love em too.
...

I have five dogs, all from the local humane society, and they all love the large size Kong Red Tuffy. My "kids" range in size from 40 pounds to 70 pounds and each takes their kongs to their favorite spot and works on getting the treats out. Each has their own way of attacking the kong. The border collie will lick the peanut butter off first and then to get to the inner treats out of the kong, picks it up in his mouth and slams it on the floor to dislodge the treats. The dainty female American Eskimo, traps the kong between her front paws and proceeds to nibble at the exposed dog biscuit, before taking on the task of removing the peanut butter that will then reveal her chewy treats hidden inside. The others members of our doggie family, known to destroy a few toys in their time, so far have not demolished the kong into tiny rubber pieces. Actually, the kongs show no sign of wear or tear on the product due to the dogs chewing. We are pleased with the Kong line of products.
...

The only toy that lasts in our house of 3 large dogs. Pretty expensive, but in the long run it saves us money in replacing toys every day or week. Best part is you can stuff it with just about every treat and bone...and it doesn't have any "fluffy stuff" that they can chew out and eat! Great distractor, keeps them intrigued and trying to get everything out as fast as possible!
...

Kong The name says it all. I have 5 dogs. Two malteese a yokie a english bulldog and a swiss mountain dog. I love my kongs they are awsome babysitters. My dos have destoyed so many toys but kong they are the best. My english bull dog loves her toys so much she always has one in her mouth and she walks around with it and sleeps with it. I think she would eat with it in her mouth if she could.

Before I found Kong my swiss mountain dog was eating everything even the furniture we were ready to get rid of him when I started buying kong toys and tought him to chew on the kong instead of the furniture and the gabage and anything else he could get into. Now he is the most awsome dog I have ever owned he is mans best friend for sure. I really love my dogs they are whats keeps us going on a bad day and make a great day even better.

So if you want to make your dogs happy buy them a Kong toy and they will love it.

I first bought a Kong for my Medium sized Austrailian Shepherd mix. We filled it with Peanut Butter and he absolutely loved it. This Kong would keep him busy for hours just licking and licking away at it. We moved on to breaking up treats mixed in with the Peanut Butter which he loved even more. He gets soooo incredibly excited when he sees up pull out the Kong and start filling it up. It is one of his favorite treats to recieve. We recently adopted another dog. She is a terrier mix and we purchased another Kong for her. She wasnt really sure what to do with it in the beginning but after watching our other dog with his, she quickly figured it out. I would recommend the Kong to any dog owner looking for something extra for the dog to do. Both of my dogs really seem to enjoy it. They especially love the added treats mixed in with the peanut butter. I know you can put just about anything you want in there and they will love it.
...

meowmix318 says "Great way to stimulate your dog and keep him busy" about Kong Red Tuffy

Everyone should know what the Kong dog toys are. I love putting together my dog's kong toy before I leave for school or for work. Try freezing the kong (w/ the treats already inside) and that will really keep your dog busy! You can put dog treats, dog food, etc. in the kong and just watch your dog go right at it trying to get the treats inside. You can also try purchasing the kong squeeze tube food, but that can get costly and I'm pretty sure that stuff isn't healthy or really good for your dog to consume all the time.

The dog can keep chewing, sucking, batting, etc. all day long and the dog can take the beating. This product is quite duarable and long lasting.

The only con I would have for this is that it is a bit pricey. But it is a small price you have to pay for your dog's happiness. You can reuse the kong over and over again and give him or her some stimulation each time you give it to him or her. Make sure you wash your dog's kong with bleach every once in a while and air dry it...
...

abrat says "Kong Red Tuffy is a durable toy for lots of play time" about Kong Red Tuffy

Kong products have been on the market for quite some time now and I believe that they know how to satisfy the needs of the dog and the pocket book of the owner. Although, the inital expense may seem a little high, the durability and construction of this product, out weighs this.

Kong Industries appears to have made the effort to provide the dog with play toys that will withstand the rigourous chewing by providing a thicker rubber than other companies that produce rubber toys. That and along with the design is a good mix and makes for a happy pet.

The design allows one to insert "treats" into it or one can even freeze it with a treat in it and when leaving the dog alone, will occupy their time and energy and possible save a piece furniture from mischief. They are easy to clean. Hot water and a bottle scrubber will clean any residue left behind from treats.

Lastly, the color Red is one color that a dog does not see. So if they seem less interested in it than a darker color toy, I would...
...

pitcherday says "Kong toys are perfect for teething puppies" about Kong Red Tuffy

My last dog did not care for rubber toys, but I had always heard good things about the Kong. When I got my new puppy he loved chewing on really tough things, so I got the little red Kong from my vet. He loves it. They sell special Kongs for puppies, but I've never had a problem with him chewing the regular one. The only discernable difference between the two is color anyway. If he starts getting on my nerves or if I need to leave the house and crate him, I fill it with treats that look like oyster crackers (Charlee Bear Treats). It totally keeps him busy. As a matter of fact, if I pick up the Kong and start to fill it with treats, he runs into his crate to wait for it. His sharp little puppy teeth have not dislodged any pieces. They sell special stick-looking treats made especially for the Kong and some stuff that looks like spray cheese to put in there. You don't need anything special like that. Anything that fits will do. I personally wouldn't put paste in there. The puppy's tongue...
...

I have 3 dogs. All with different personalities but the one thing they share is a love of toys. I originally bought my Kong for my oldest pug. She had no interest in it until I filled it with peanut butter. Then it became very attractive. This same trick worked for my next pug. I use a small kong so it's harder for them to get those long little tongues in there to get out the yummy treat. Next came my big puppy a German Short Haired pointer. He has pretty much destroyed every toy I have given hi. Tennis balls last less than 5 minutes. So I thought I'd see what he could do with a Kong. Again he wan't much interested in it until I put in a treat and then he chewed and chewed until all remnaints of the treat were gone. And much to my suprise the Kong was still intact. I am actually amazed. This really is one of the only things he can't seem to destroy. I waould definetely recommend this toy to anyone who has a heavy chewer like mine.
...

This is one of the few toys my two babies have not eaten. They love to work on getting food out of it and sit and go at it even after the treat inside is eaten. Kongs come in several different sizes and shapes for all size dogs. The only precaution I take with Kongs is to put them up when the food is gone so it won't get lost under furniture or outside. Kongs really keep my dogs interested when they're bored.
...
