bought this camera the day after thanksgiving last year. It was an upgrade for us. The camera is easy to use and takes good pictures. We are know looking for another upgrade soon though, we love taking pictures so wanting something a little better. The kodak easy share zd710 is a great first time camera.

...

antkritden says "The pictures I have taken with this camera are just amazing" about Kodak - ZD710 7MP Digital Camera

Overall, I am thrilled with this camera. I have taken the best photos I have ever taken- using this camera. The functions are great, and if you don't feel like messing with them, you can just use the automatic mode that finds the best settings for you. While I do love that you can use standard AA batteries in this camera, they don't last very long at all, so I recommend just spending the $15 or however much they are and getting the special lithium photo battery just like the one it came with.

The cons of this camera are definitely the difficulty in finding accessories (lenses, camera bag, etc.) and that my lens cap, though attached with the string, falls of the lens a lot, and the fact that it didn't come with a memory card.
...

star8278 says "Great bang for the buck... close to a DSLR!!!" about Kodak - ZD710 7MP Digital Camera

Purchased on a whim from HSN a few weeks ago. Original intent was to keep it in my purse as my "everyday" grab & go camera, as opposed to my bulkier Canon DSLR. However, the kodak has quickly become more. The quality of shots is great for a point & shoot. At 7.1mp you even have some flexibility for post processing, including cropping.

The manual settings are very true. You can set everything from aperature, ISO, and shutter speed.

I would recommend this camera to any beginner, anyone who needs an everday camera. It takes amazing shots.

To see more shots, go to flickr.com and search by camera for the Kodak ZD710 Zoom.

While the CRV batteries are recommended it will take 2 AA's in a pinch. The original KODAK brand battery that it came with lasted for 600+ pictures!!! There is a built in internal memory which is great when you forget your card. I haven't tested how many shots it will actually hold yet. I always have to SD cards on hand.
...

kkane says "Does alright in low light" about Kodak - ZD710 7MP Digital Camera

It's not the best in low light. I think you would have to go to digital SRL to conquer the shifting and red color wash that comes with a point-and-shoot camera. There is many options for setting including a manual setting. I have not gone through all the options. I am very happy for what I use this camera for (close-ups with plenty of light). This camera has automatic focusing on faces as well....

Great camera if you've never use a SRL. The presets for different lighting conditions are good but I will upgrade to a digital SRL because it takes to long to expose low light photos, and they look shakey. It is a bulky camera that doesn't fit in a pocket. I bought this on a after thanksgiving sale at Walmart Shopping Center for about $150. This was about a $30 discount....

I already had a digital camera but I really wanted this one because it had a lot more functions than the one I had. I really like the panoramic pictures. You do have to read the directions to learn how to do the panoramic pictures, but once you figure it out it is great....

Wow, Im really impressed with this camera. I have tried and returned at least 4 cameras in the last 10 years never liking any of them. This camera is wonderful.. first pictures I took turned out wonderful without me even looking at the directions. Great point and shoot right out of the box! I have spend a good two hours playing with this camera to see what it does and I havent found anything I dont like yet. Its a lot smaller than it looks in pictures online. Its only 3 and a half inches wide and 3 inches tall. Because of the large lens, its not great for sticking into your pocket though. Internal memory holds only 8 pictures at the largest resolution which is 7.1 and I bought a 4 gig card.. this will hold well over 1000 pictures. There is so much to say about this camera.. it has a lot of functions. I love the manual section.. there are a lot of changes you can make.. I will have to relearn my SLR information before I play with that. One thing I dont like though is that the dial has no......

rdaassoc07 says "A Mid-Range Price with Huge Potential!" about Kodak - ZD710 7MP Digital Camera

I recently purchased the Kodak EasyShare ZD710 Digital camera during the black Friday sales. For the cost (approx 150.00 during the sale) it was worth every penny and then some.

Even though it is not as pricey as some models, with a little research I was able to purchase Telephoto and Wide angle lenses for this model, thereby taking it from a practical every day camera to a professional quality digital photography tool.

Another bonus was the traditional "hard battery" that came with the camera. It is much nicer to have one of these than to have to pay for new batteries every few months or so. I did not opt to purchase the companion docking station as a simple plug in overnight does just as well.

Overall I would recommend this to anyone who has a serious interest in nice digital quality photos. You can get models with more or less bells and whistles than this one but for a digital in the 7 megapixel category, this one is tops!
...
