We purchased the Easy Share Z612 for our family vacation to the Netherlands. When we tried to download the photos to the computer the camera reformated our disk and lost our photos. The photos were gone but tech support offered to fix the camera, we asked to be able to return the camera, but Kodak would not do it. We got the camera back and were told ther is nothing wrong with the camera,and they sold us a program to recapture the photos, but we were only able to recapture about a tenth of our photos. It has since erased our photos two more times due to needless reformating. It takes fair photos,but we can't rely on it for our important photos.

I have always loved taking pictures. Used mostly desposable cameras. I first bought another brand small digital camera. was not pleased at all with it . then I bought the Kodak z612. This is the best camera I've ever used. It is easy to operate and makes very clear pictures. Even at the big 4th of July celebration I took pictures of the fire works show. They were great!!! I do want to get another camera with a bigger mega pix. It will be another Kodak I'm sure.

I find myself needing to shoot meetings in typical fluorescent light, without flash. I gave up on pocketable point-and-shoots. I've only had it a date, but this seems to me to live up to the highly rated Panasonic Lumix, then some (can zoom during video, etc.) So today, fresh out of the box, my success rate in such a meeting was probably 80 percent, compared to 40 percent before, thanks to image stabilization

Kodak has simplicity down pat, and each generation improves on the last in that regard (this is, um, my fourth Kodak digicam in the past six years.) I'll be anxious to read the "pro critic" reviews, but ... I believe I've made the right choice!

This camera is awesome, I would recomend it to anyone of my freinds or family members.My aunt, uncles, cousins, grandparents, mom, dad, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, best freind, teacher, even my dog!

Whenever I whip out this camera to take pictures at special events, such as birthday parties or other celebrations, I always get questions like "How much did that camera cost?" or comments such as "Wow, high-tech". This camera has a powerful zoom, records videos clearly, sound quality is pretty good too. There is a rechargeable battery so it's not like you have to constantly go out and replace them, which I really like. I seem to always end up using the self-timer whenever I go out in public and don't have an extra set of hands, which you can set for 10 seconds, 20 seconds, etc. I like how you can also set a date on the bottom right hand corner of the picture so you can always remember when you did something or visited someplace. I accidentally dropped it once, so it started making strange purring sounds...but it still worked! Thank goodness. :O)

I would recommend this camera to people who want a sturdy and reliable camera to use whenever you travel or host many events. At times I would...

We were given our new Kodak easy share camera as a anniversary present. We have been taking family and friends pictures with every since! I has been such a pleasure to experiment with our new camera! It has so many new and neat features that we just love taking it with us whereever we go! A friend gave it to us to replace our 35mm camera and we were skepital aboput it when we first received it but now we can't put it down for nothing. It has aeasy release shuttle button and you can take the picture and then load the film up on your computer right then.

I have had my Kodak Z612 camera for about two years or so. I have been very pleased with it. It takes good, clear photos and is easy to carry. Instructions are clear and easily understood. The SD cards are easily inserted and removed, and can be easily inserted into a card reader on the computer. I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants a cheaper camera that will do a good job. It also takes good, clear videos which are long enough to capture the shot you are wanting to keep.

I bought the Kodak EasyShare Z612 in May 2008.

It takes great shots of people and large objects. I've had no problems or blurry shots with indoor or outdoor pictures of anything bigger than a breadbox. If you want to take basic pictures of your family, friends, pets, etc., this camera is perfect for that.

The battery life is also really long, even though the batteries are expensive. I spent quite a bit on a spare for trips.

However, I find the zoom to be lacking in image quality. I get a lot of blurry pictures trying to shoot macros. It goes in and out of focus on the LCD screen so you're never sure when it's going to take a good shot or a blurry shot. You don't know until you review the shot on the camera.

The built in video recording quality and sound quality are very low. Indoors and in other low light conditions, the quality is barely viewable, even in well-lit indoor rooms. My former digital camera did a much better job at video recording, and it was a much cheaper Nikon.

This camera is so easy to use and takes great pictures. The auto setting takes the guesswork out, but you can personalize the settings by using the manual controls. The quality is perfect for printing pictures up to 8x10 or even larger. Love my Kodak Z612!!!!!...

The Kodak Z612 camera is a great camera. It is easy enough for beginners yet has enough features for a semi-professional. The camera has automatic setting so all you have to do is point and shoot, or you can use the manual settings for enhancements. It's big enough that it is easy to handle yet small enough to store in your purse or totebag when not using. The battery holds a charge long enough to shoot hundreds of pictures. Pictures are clear and color is beautiful. Overall a great camera at a great price. I highly recommend it....

EasyShare Z612 Digital Camera- We bought this about a year and a half ago and have had a great experience with this camera, until recently.

The zoom is phenomenal. The camera allows easy point and shoot ability for the technically challenged or more sophisticated options for the techie.

During our most recent trip, the camera dropped from waist high onto a wooden deck. That was all it needed to make the screen show horizontal blue and orange lines. After some research this seems like a common problem on this model. According to Kodak they will fix it for $135 plus shipping and handling. The video still works fine.

Needless to say we are researching other camera options. Primarily because the camera is a little too big. The size is too large to put it in your pocket and go.

Overall, it takes great photo's, has excellent zoom and is quick with its response time. Just don't accidentally drop it (I don't know how you can avoid something accidental- so don't ask) or get a warranty that...

This Kodak Easy Share camera is just perfect the technically challenged person like me. From the first moment I set it up I was off and running. And the software that comes with it is so easy to install and use. I share so many photos with family and friends online and this camera makes it so easy. It stores your favorites which makes it difficult to accidently delete. A friend of mine fell in love with my camera on vacation that she went out and bought one almost identical to it. Hers is a newer model and doesn't eat batteries like mine does....
