RoseDaughter says "Poor Quality, Poor Battery" about Kodak - EasyShare V1003

This camera is the worst! It's advertised as a basic point and shoot. It features are very basic, it's a 10 mp camera with 3x optical zoom. It can also take video. We purchased this camera on sale to be our primary camera. This camera was sold as being very good at taking pictures both inside and outside. When we tested it in the store it seemed to perform as advertised. We bought it on sale at Target for around $100.

From the very beginning we had problems with this camera. It's battery was alway finicky. It doesn't like to charge. We have to find the perfect angle in which to rest the camera in order for it to charge and the slightest bump will stop it from charging. The battery gauge also is very poor. It will show it as being fully charge and will just die. The pictures also are of very poor quality. Most of the time they turn out very blurry and the camera is hard to focus. The flash seems too bright at times. It really can wash out picture of people making them look like ghosts....
...

mypoints29664 says "Great camera for the price." about Kodak - EasyShare V1003

I bought this Kodak 10 megapixel Easyshare camera from QVC when they had it on special. It came with the accessories kit which included a case.

The camera has an internal memory of 32 megabytes and I purchased a digital card so I could take more pictures and video. Now on 4.9 megapixel settings I get about 400 pictures and 8 minutes of video (or about half that if I set it on 10 megapixels) which for me is plenty because I usually come right home and upload it to my computer anyway.

It came with the dock which you just set the camera in and it will recharge the battery and upload to your computer with a touch of a button.

This camera takes beautiful pictures and I have the most fun taking video of my dogs. The ease of this camera is great because I just will not take the time to push buttons all day to set it for something special. I know if I am shooting in darker setting it is easy to find the menu and change the settings but for most picture the automatic setting takes great pictures...
...

My husband bought me this camera because I'm not the brightest star when it comes to buttons on gadgets. It gets me by and to tell you the truth I have taken some really good pics with this Kodak Easyshare V1003 camera. Would I like a better camera? Maybe in time when I get really comfortable with gadgets. I can shoot my everyday pics and transfer them to my computer, email them or just keep as a slide show. My kids find this very easy to use too. It has a nice big screen so you can see exactly what you're taking a picture of.For the money, which I saw it is now reduced, it's worth it. I took a couple of long shots with it and was amazed at how well they turned out. If you don't need a really professional picture I would recommend this little camera....

I absolutely love the Kodak Easy Share V1003! And I'm actually on my second one - someone broke my first one (which was pink) and I went and bought the same camera to replace it (but in blue). Not only does it take great pictures, it small enough that I can throw it into even my smallest purse so I can take it everywhere I go! It's cute too! I've captured some great memories with this camera and absolutely love it!...

This was my second Kodak digital camera. I loved the first one. It was easy to use, took great pictures and would store lots of pictures. At first glance in the store this one looked just as easy to use and operate. Plus I loved the color choices. Sadly that turned out to be the only thing I like about the camera. I was told at the store the camera had the same storage capacity as the other camera. When I got it home it would only store a few pictures. The picture quality was nowhere near what you would expect from Kodak. Don't waste your time or money. I took it back the same day.
...

We have been big fans of the Kodak cameras at our house. However this latest one doesn't quite meet up to our standards. The camera is small and sleek and easy to put in your pocket for going place, a great quality if you are on vacation with your kids. If often takes good pictures. We like the larger mega-pixels for the big screen projects we do. But there have been times where the camera won't focus and the only way to remedy this is to turn it off then on again. The other thing that we don't like is that the flash is where you would naturally put your fingers. I don't know if the makes a difference in the pictures. Sometimes when it is darker it is hard to get a good picture. Overall it is an okay camera at an affordable price.
...

I bought this camera a few months ago. It was on sale and my old one was driving me nuts, so it was time for something different.
First of all, I love the colors it comes in! I got the light lavender one, and absolutely love it. When I go to friend's houses, it's always easy to tell which one is mine when everyone leaves their cameras just floating around the house.
The price was really good, and I know it's going down further right now (like most tech stuff does).
The picture quality is excellent...most of the time. But I sometimes have problems getting the camera to focus correctly, and end up with tons of slightly blurry pictures. I do like the gauge that tells you if the picture is blurry or not, I just wish there were less blurry ones to begin with. The battery lasts for quite a while, but I don't know how well it holds up in the long run.
Overall I love how small it is, it's easy to bring anywhere, and is really easy to use. Just point and click.
...

THIS CAMERA DOES NOT MEET MY NEEDS. I FIOUND THAT I DID NOT NEED THE HIGH MEGAPIXES OF 10.. FOR MY NEEDS I COULD GET BY WITH LESS. WHEN TAKING INDOOR PICTURES I FIND THAT SOME COME OUT PERFECT AND AT TIMES A LOT COME ON THE DARK SIDE. THAT HAPPENS EVEN IF YOU TAKE BACK TO BACK PICTURE OF SAME SUBJECT'

WHEN USING OUTSIDE THE BACK VIEW SCREEN IS VERY HARD TO SEE WHAT YOU ARE TAKING A PICTURE OF. THE BRIGHTER THE DAY THE HARDER IT IS TO SEE. ALSO I FIND THAT NOT HAVING A VIEW HOLE MAKES IT HARD TO GET MOVING ITEMS SUCH A SOCCER PLAYER OR OTHER OBJECTS.

THE ZOOM IS EASY TO USE AND WORKS GREAT. ALSO THE OPTIONS MENUE IS EASY TO ACCESS AND USE.

BIGGEST ITEM IS NO VIEW HOLE. A VIEW HOLE WOULD MAKE THE CAMERA BETTER AND I WOULD NOT BE LOOKING TO REPLACE IT!!!
...

This camera is the closest you can get to an SLR with out the outragous price! It has alot of features that makes it so close to being a SLR with out being one! I would recomend this to anyone. I have noticed one thing with this camera, you have to have a tripod and steady hand with it! You can use it with out a tripod but its so hard to keep that steady hand so you don't get blurry photos! My son who is 10, can use it and gets great photos with it! So when i say anyone , i do mean anyone can use it! OH, and there is no view hole, just a LCD screen that is 2.5 in size! Makes it better to see what you are shooting. But at the same time its hard to get the true photo in your pics! You can take pictures anything from fireworks, snow, beach, and everyday photos with this camera....
