LaurieM says "Not bad, just bland ..." about Knorr Sides Plus Veggies

My ten-year-old son and I were at the grocery store when we came across Knorr Sides Plus Veggies. Surprisingly, my son asked if we could buy some. I thought to myself "my son wants vegetables?" Then I realized that it was the combination of veggies and spiral pasta that caught his eye. I agreed to buy a couple of packages of the Roasted Garlic, Olive Oil & Broccoli Rotini since they were only about $1.59 a pouch.

What is this stuff?

These nourishing side dishes are made with either pasta or rice mixed with two full servings of vegetables like carrots, green beans, peas, corn, or broccoli. There is a pretty good variety to choose from that include Southwestern Style Rice, Cheddar Rice with Broccoli & Carrots, Roasted Chicken Rice with Harvest Vegetables, Teriyaki Noodles with Asian Style Vegetables, Roasted Garlic, Olive Oil & Broccoli Rotini and Alfredo Pasta Primavera. All flavors contain a decent amount of vitamins, calcium, and Iron.

What we thought about it...

This side...
...

I work part time evenings and my husband works a full evening shift, so I cook dinner around noon each. My hubby prefers to take his food to work to eat, while I eat before I leave. Finding dishes that are easy to prepare, don't take a lot of time and are good for you is great. This fits the bill on all counts.

There are several different varieties which go with several different kinds of meats. Pair this side with a main meat and you have an instant meal. It can be put a single container for easy portability. I have tried the chicken rice, cheddar rice and teriyaki noodles. All have pretty good flavor.
...

LauraBelle says "Exactly as Billed, a Side Plus Veggies" about Knorr Sides Plus Veggies

Intro
Point blank, it's just easier. Packaged sides just make it all easier. Sure I could make a rice dish myself, with some rice, a little broth, etc. but on a busy night, it's a little bit of work, and sometimes by the time you buy it all, it's more expensive than the packaged stuff. I try not to use them more than once or at the very most twice a week, though. Now with Knoll Sides, Sides Plus Veggies, it has that extra added bonus of the veggies in there. This week I tried Roasted Chicken Rice With Harvest Vegetables.

Preparation
It really couldn't be much easier or quicker than this. Even with Rice-a-Roni, you have to sauté the rice, then add the ingredients, boil, and simmer. With the Knoll Sides, Sides Plus Veggies, I only had to add water, butter and the envelope of prepared mix, boil and simmer. It was that easy. Well, okay, even though it was that easy, I still spilled the mix all over, but that's just me and my carelessness.

Taste
The taste was good. The Roasted Chicken Rice With......
