this is the second one i have had inthe last 28 years, the previuos one is still in use, was given to a friend whe i got this new one, needed a bigger bowl, i love the ift handle since i have arthritis , it gets use so much around the holidays it never leaves the kitchen counter, i love it love it love it, they are built to last forever and all the extra atattchemnts are wonderful ( just need one more , the pasta roller and i am set fo rlife)_

When I got married 10 years ago, I barely knew how to boil water. Thanks to my husband and TV cooks like Paula Dean and Alton Brown....I now cook all meals homemade and am told I am just getting better at it everyday...I digress....I started noticing that all of these TV cooks were using the Kitchenaid stand mixer to aid in preparing their meals. I had to have one! I finally got one at 35 years old and let me tell you...it was worth the wait!!! Anything can be done with this thing! My confindence level is also bigger with cooking by using this mixer. Anyone can use it and it comes with a really cool recipe book. Something has to be said about a product that has stood the test of time for many many years. I am so glad to be an owner and learning to be a home cook makes my husband and family very happy and proud of me....Thanks Sears and KitchenAid!!!

I bought a Kitchen Aid Commercial grade stand mixer on Black Friday last year. It died on Thanksgiving Day this year. When I used it, I loved it. It did a great job on bread and cookie doughs. But it is worthless to me now....

I love to cook and bake! I like truly big metal powerful heavy duty monster food prep appliances!! Getting a cheap plastic flimsily-made stand mixer or food processor just isn't practical at all because you'll end up buying another one again in about 6 monrhs or so!

This stand mixer - the K-5SS, has been adored by serious home gourmet cooks, home bakers and professional chefs alike for many, many, many years. It has been in production for the better part of about 45 years or so now!!

It is in use in the kitchens of hospitals, culinary traing programs, restaurants, and commercial bakeries, supplementing and helping out the monster floor-standing and the countertop 20-qt Hobart mixers!!

It meets and exceeds all of my expectations! I've had it for over two years now, and it has not let me down. Perhaps 2 years isn't much to brag about, but I've owned the slightly smaller K45SS for almost 22 years now. That one has done well by me for many, many years now, and is STILL in service!

The Kitchenaid Mixer will get the job done in no time. You can whip up a batch of cookies in as little as 2 minutes! The mixer comes with a large mixing bowl and three different beaters for whatever you are baking. Attachments for it are available (though somewhat pricey). If you are an avid (and not so avid) baker, this is the mixer for you!...
