Growing up overseas, we made everything from scratch, from cakes to bread. My mother had a KitchenAid Professional 600 Series 6-Quart Stand Mixer that handled the salt air of a tropical island for more than 15 years and is still functioning now that they're back in the US. Because food plays a big part in our family, for my bridal shower gift, my mother continued the tradition by purchasing me my own KitchenAid Professional 600 Series 6-Quart Stand Mixer! I have the pure white mixer, although there are a variety of color options available (black, blue, red, nickel, and others).

This mixer is a monster! The 575 watt motor can power through almost any recipe you can put into the massive 6-quart bowl. There are 10 speed options. Three beaters are included: a whipping beater, dough hook, and flat beater. Also included is a plastic splatter shield, which has a "spout" that allows you to add ingredients gradually without removing the shield. I have avoided more flour explosions...

We purchased the KitchenAid 600 series 6-quart stand mixer 9 years ago at a store that was going out of business, so the price was excellent. We thought that we were making a good purchase that would last us years to come. My husband is a professional pastry chef and he read several reviews in kitchen magazines that talked about how great the KitchenAid mixer was. Talk about wrong! In the first year, KitchenAid had to replace our mixer 3 times! Everytime, they said that it was an anomoly. Customer service was great, considering we called them every 3-4 months to tell them that their product broke again. Finally, we were received a mixer that did not break, but it did have a strange grinding sound when we used it. It lasted until about 6 months ago (long after the warranty) when it finally won't work at all. For a machine that is supposed to last at least 25 years, this is a big disappointment. Since I do a lot of baking, and my husband does a lot of baking for holidays,...

I love my Kitchenaid Professional 600 series mixer. It's big so I can mix almost anything up and never worry. It is expensive, but it seems to last forever. My mom and aunt have older versions and they have been working for years with no problems. This is another kitchen appliance I don't use often, but when I do I really need it's size and ability to handle everything. Love that I can get other attachments for it.

I have owned a couple of different kitchenaid and other mixers but was really excited when this one was coming out. I have two kids and bake professionally but dont let that word fool you this is for the everyday person if you love to bake. I no longer buy bread why would you when you can easily make multiple batches at once. ever been tired of making a single batch of cookies and there gone in 15 minutes not a problem when quickly and easily you make 3 or more batches at a time. ever have that kid that needs 60 treats to take to school for some event and you spend all night slaving with different mixes to get it done not any more. this machine is great and with all kitchen aid mixers it is easy to clean up. I will never own another mixer until Kitchenaid improves on this but i dont know what else they could do to improve it. I also recommend all the attatchments the kids love when i make home-made ice cream with the ice cream maker.

I use my Kitchen Aid everyday. I love this product,

I use it for everything that needs mixing.

I run my machine (as I call it) hard. I use it harder in one month than others would use it in 5 years.

I make all my pasta dough, mixing of meat, to cookie dough.

When I die, I told my family I want a Kitchen Aid salute.

Love the size of the Pro 600.

I use many attachments on my machine.

Product: KitchenAid Professional 600 Series 6 quart stand mixer. A must have around the holidays and every day. Easy to operate, decreases prep time dramatically. I love the 6 quart bowl. However, if your recipe is small it does not always mix well....

We bought a Kitchen Aid 600 series about 5 years ago, and have never been disappointed. It has stood up remarkably well to everything we've put it through. It can mix almost anything (even stiffer cookie dough), and cleans up quickly. We have the grater attachment, the meat grinder attachment, and love them both. It grates cheese easily and quickly, odes a great job shredding or chopping vegetables. We use the meat grinder making sausage, and have never had a problem yet.

The customer service is wonderful. We had a piece break on the grater attachement, and called to find out if we could just order the part instead of buying a whole new one. They sent us the part for free, and sent us a second one just in case it broke again.

I would recommend this to anyone. It's expensive, but worth every dime we spent on it. As far as the price, wait until one of the big box stores has a sale on them. We got it at Kohl's with the Kohl's cash back, and used the money we saves...

This is an awesome mixer. I had another a few years back a smaller version. It completely quit working after two years. I called the company and they shipped this top of the line out to me no questions asked. Great service, no?

It does everything, and just makes me feel like a pro!

Love the KitchenAid Professional 600 Stand mixer. It makes my baking and
cleaning up quicker than with other mixers. It's got the power for any type batter or icing. Burned up lots of mixer motors, when I was taking cake decorating classes. Would have saved a lot of frustration and expense years ago. Wished I had made sure the mixer tilted up for easier removal of the beaters. You can't go wrong with Kitchen
Aid mixers. The new mixer colors are beautiful and match about any kitchen decor imaginable....

I got the KitchenAid 600 series last year (2007) as a Christmas gift. I have been so happy with it. I bake bread each week & it does so much of the work for me it's a pure joy. The paddle beater & dough hook are both heavy duty & I have had no problems with the regular use it gets. It kneads 4 loaves of bread or a double batch of cookie dough with no problems. I think it's a wonderful product....

I got this as a bridal shower gift from my parents. It is my absolute favorite tool in the kitchen. I use it almost every day. My husband and I don't buy processed baked foods so I needed a product that would make things easier, and would be easy to clean up. I love the different hooks for different jobs. I also love the fact that I can start throwing everything in the bowl, turn it on and walk away. I don't even have a hand held mixer anymore. I can't imagine not having it in my house. ...

I got my Kitchen Aid Classic mixer as a wedding gift about 6 months ago. Since I love to bake I've used it at least 20 times already - espeically during the Holidays! This thing is the absolute best. I debated about upgrading to the Artisan but really the size/power of the Classic is more than enough for me. I think if you do a lot of breads or dense mixes that the extra power might be necessary. I would like to have an extra bowl with mine but I don't think I'd really use any of the other attachments or extras. Overall this is a great product and I look forward to many years with my mixer!...

I have used many mixers over the years in my kitchen but the KitchenAid Professional 600 6qt 575 Watt Stand Mixer is by far the absolute BEST that I have ever had / used! I am an avid baker and can't live without this one. I have had a KitchenAid stand mixer for years and recently upgraded to the professional unit for added versatility. (The previous model - which still works perfectly - I gave to my sister and she absolutely loves that it!!)

This model - because it is for the "professional kitchen" - is one that will handle almost any job. It comes with a 6 quart stainless steel bowl, a burnished metal flat beater, a burnished metal dough hook and a wire whisk which will handle anything you can throw at it. And, since the KitchenAid name is one of the most respected for any kitchen appliance, you really can't go wrong!

My mixer stays on my counter year round because I use it on an almost daily basis. And, once it's time for Christmas cookies, well, I'm able to make...
