JMarcus says "The Kitchenaid Pro Line provides superior performance" about KitchenAid Mixer - ProLine 600

The Kitchenaid pro line is a good, high quality mixer, although it does take up quite a bit of counter space and is more expensive than other comparable products. I have had the Kitchenaid mixer for 5-years now and have had minimal complaints. The motor in the professional line is strong enough to knead dough for two pizzas simultaneously and the variable speed controls make it easy to customize to your needs. I considered the smaller cousin to the professional line but had some concerns about the pivot option on that line (in this version the bowl is raised and lowered, the motor does not pivot up and down). Given the reviews and typical frequency of use for me (perhaps once or twice per week) I figure that this machine will last me a good long while, so I chose to invest in the higher end product. I've considered purchasing some of the peripherals (e.g. pasta maker, meat grinder, ice cream maker, etc.) but do not think that I would use them often enough to make it worth the investment.......

This machine runs our kitchen! We use it almost daily. There are tons of attachments available. It's sturdy. You can truly multi-task. While you're mixing the cake you can be slicing the strawberries. It has a nice big capacity - you can double and even triple recipes without any fear of it spilling over. I have the flat grey color so it looks really cool on the counter top. I got an extra bowl so I can have one chilling in the fridge while I'm still using the other one. It's great for kneading dough and whipping cream - both of which are a chore to do by hand. Saves tons of time. I've been using them at one home or another since childhood - never had anything break - never needed service. Couldn't be better, couldn't ask for anything more from it....
