I use this as a spice grinder, and love it. I had a cheapie black and decker and the blades became dull after only a couple of month's use. Long story short, I wound up with 2 of the kitchenaid grinders. One I use for coffee and I like it, but coffee is pretty easy to grind. The other I use for spices and it cleans easily and I use it regularly for this....

The KitchenAid stainless steel coffee grinder is a perfect addition to any kitchen. It takes up very little space, grinds coffee beans for up to a 10-cup coffee maker in just a few seconds, and works like a charm!

I was skeptical when we got it, but this thing is so easy, so small and convenient, I'll never go back to pre-ground coffee again!

It does make a bit of noise when grinding, but my wife thinks of it as the "alarm bell" for great coffee!

I'm so pleased with the efficiency & easy of clean-up of this product. It's got great safety features, too. The locking mechanism ensures the blades can't run without the cover firmly in place -- but then, just press down on the top for a few seconds, and, VOILA! perfectly ground coffee for a drip machine, or any other, depending on how long you press down....
