I purchased my Kirby Vaccum about 4 years ago and the only reason that I bought it was because one of my friends was selling them and I got a good buy on it. Kirby vaccum's do do alot of things and have many attachments but they are heavy, time consuming to change the different attachments, loud, and the list goes on and on. Kirby's are supposed to be a good vaccum but I would not reccomend one to anyone. There are many other vaccums that are better, lighter, and more options. Another disadvantage is that you have to mail order all the parts to your Kirby even the bags and belts you can't just run to the store and get them. The hose attachment is the best part about the Kirby's because it is very tough and holds up to alot of abuse without getting any holes or breaking. And the Kirby can also be used to paint with but really.... who would use a vaccum to paint their walls????

Since getting our Kirby about 5 years ago, my family has really put it to many uses from cleaning out the cars to shampooing the carpets. My niece has borrowed it to vacuum her very messy house and my sister's husband has used it to clean out their cars. My mom used it regularly to shampoo the carpets of our 5 bedroom house and now that we've moved into separate smaller places we share it from time to time to continue cleaning the floors of our family's many places. It does an excellant job of deep cleaning carpets and upholstery. The $2000.00 it cost us has certainly been worth the every penny.

I find the replacement bags and the carpet cleaning solutions to be a little expensive, but still worth the cost. I usually get the allergen reducer shampoo solution, since my family suffers from lots of environmental allergies. The process of cleaning carpets is a good one and if done correctly, dries quickly and cleans thoroughly.

The Kirby Ultimate G Diamond edition is a powerful vacuum cleaner. It gets deep down into the carpet to remove dirt and pet hair. It has a hepa filter which is very helpful for my son's allergies. It comes with lots of attachments and a carpet shampooer. The attachments are in a case of their own so storage is a bit of a pain. The vacuum is also very heavy and hard for me to get up the stairs. It is very poweful though, so it makes it worth it to me. It was very expensive. I got the salesman down to $800. I have heard that they can last a lifetime, though. This vacuum is self-propelled and it adjusts to several heights. It's great for houses like mine that have different types of carpet through out the house. The vacuum bags can not be bought in a regular store. You have to go to a specialty vacuum store to find them. They are a little on the expensive side. Although this vacuum cleaner has some down falls, it is the best working vacuum cleaner I have ever owned.

I have owned a used Kirby G3 for over 8 years and absolutely Love It! After comparing all kinds of vacuums from canisters (Rainbow, Tri star, Filter Queen), to other uprights (Deparment store models, Dirt Devil, etc), and central vacuums. In the end I chose Kirby, and have never had a problem. It was too pricey for me to buy new, so I bought used. I would agree that at first it was a little tricky to change the powerhead, but I quickly got used to all the attachments. I was willing to get used to switching back and forth, knowing I wasn't sacrificing performance. After hearing so many stories of cheaply made models, and some pricey central units in homes having no suction, I feel my Kirby at less than $55 per year, has been a wise investment. So much so that I have just purchased a used Kirby Ultimate Diamond G ( I like the upgades they've made) and again at a bargin. I am looking forward to many more years of great perfomance. I purchased a Kirby Ultimate G Diamond Edition vacuum cleaner and paid $1200.00 with my trade-in.

I will admit that this vacuum really does suck up the dust and dirt, however it is so heavy and bulky, and just wears me out when I use it. There are several attachments that I have not used, nor will I ever use like the carpet shampooer, the paint option, and the blower option.

When I purchased this vacuum from the salesperson that came to my home, I was really sold on it because of what I saw in the white filter she used to vacuum my area rug. I was amazed because I had just vacuumed that morning with my old vacuum.

That afternoon I decided to use the Kirby vacuum, and wow...was I in for a work-out. I used the hard floor attachment first, and the extension wands kept falling apart as I vacuumed, then I attached the main head which took forever to attach, and then vacuumed the carpets. Since my house is over 3000 square feet it took a while to vacuum the whole house, and I really didn't...

I bought my Kirby about 7 years ago. I have a 3 bedroom house, work full-time, & don't care much for cleaning. I had a special friend coming over and I wanted to show him that I had a clean house. The Kirby was so important in helping me be able to vacuum both my carpets and hardwood floors. The suction power is very strong. One reason I didn't like to vacuum was it took so very long to do a good job. Before I bought the Kirby, I was using a Eureka vacuum that I purchased refurbished from a neighbor. I later learned after purchasing the Kirby that most vacuums do a mediocre job.

The Kirby has a hepa bag system that helps keep the air in the house free from excess dust & traps many allegrens. I have 3 indoor cats so I want a system that will help keep on top of all that pet hair. Before I got the Kirby, I used to get discouraged when I vacuumed because it seemed like the dust & hair would reappear the next day, almost like I hadn't even vacuumed at all.

Kirby is one of the best, overall, for all that it does, and the pure quality of this machinery. I say machinery, a cleaning machine/tool. Not made of plastic like other vacuums. Who uses plastic tools anyway? This machine will not only vacuum but is a leaf blower, will paint with, shampoo carpet, furniture, car, cleans hard floors and every nook and cranny in between. Also has addt'l attachments you can get for wax and sand your hard floor too!!! Have loved it thru generations and will keep passing it down. Last for ever. Best investment ever made. To all husbands out their who think wives don't deserve $2000 vacuum, it's not just a vacuum, it's a complete home care system!!! And I like to see you work on stuff with plastic tools. Get rid of the Eureka, it doesn't work!

I am so glad I bought a Kirby. My house is mostly hardwood floors with 2 rooms of carpet. It is so easy to switch from the brush to the hose and the cord is very long so I only have to use a couple of plugs to reach all my floors. It rolls along very easily. It may seem like a lot of money to buy it but when I think of all the other brands of vaccums I had to buy every year because they wear out so fast-I will never have to buy another vaccum.

The Diamond G Kirby Vacuum comes with everything you need to clean your carpets, furniture, gutters, etc. It is pretty easy to use and will last through tough wear and tear ( I have two young children). Although the carpet cleaning products are pretty expensive, the quick drying makes it worthwhile.

Although I love my Kirby, I really wish I would've taken the time to view other vacuums of the same caliber, for much less. I paid $1300 for my Kirby because of the pushy salesperson that wanted to win a trip. I felt a little ripped off when someone told me they paid much less for the same one.

Overall, it's a nice vacuum that will probably last a lifetime (especially because of the $200 re-built fee that they offer), but I could've probably bought 2 vacuums just as nice for the price I have paid.

I love my Kirby Diamond Edition! It is worth every penny I paid for it. I've had it for close to five years and it works just as good as it did on day one! I have 3 kids, 4 cats, and 2 dogs... My Kirby keeps up no problem! I have no problem switching between attachments, although the wet cleaner is too much of a pain (I haver a separate carpet cleaner anyway), the quality of the vaccuum itself is worth the price. You also get a lifetime warranty. I recommend Kirby all of the time. It is an investment, but a worthy one!...

I can't believe I actually begged my spouse to get me the Kirby Diamond Edition. I was amazed by the in-home demonstration and was happy to think that I could do both dry and wet jobs with this one unit. After I forked over $2,000 and started getting busy cleaning all of those dust mites from the mattress and couch, I soon realized the Royal Airo-Pro 1000 (valued at under $100) worked way better than the Kirby Diamond Edition. This vacuum should have been named the Kirby Zirconia! The Kirby is not very user friendly. It starts emitting odors of dust after only a few uses and the replacement bags are way over priced. The wet vacuum feature was a joke. I still have to rent a unit from the Rug Doctor, since the Kirby is too difficult to switch modes from dry to wet. The parts are heavy and do not assemble easily. The belt smells burnt even if not unattahced. However, when the belt comes loose, it is hard to reattach and aligned. I wish I would have never answered the......

When we bought our Kirby, our old vacuum had just died on us! We had purchased at least 6 vacuums in the past 6 years, so we were excited to have a vacuum that had a lifetime warranty! 4 years later, our kirby still works like brand new!! The Kirby company even came out to our home to clean our vacuum and service it for us and we didn't have to go anywhere or be out of a vacuum cleaner! This is by far the best vacuum we have ever owned! It has a drive and neutral gear that makes pushing it a breeze, even my 7 year old uses it with ease! It has different levels of how close to the carpet it can go and so vacuuming our hardwood floors is great without scratching them at all!! Yes it is a rather expensive investment, but I must say, that it has paid for itself in the time we have had it and I am confident that if it does ever break down, Kirby will give us a replacement vacuum while repairing ours and if it is irreparable, they will replace it all together without us having to pay for it !!......
