I have owned my Kenmore Oasis for a little over a year now and after all the washers I've been through, I have to say this os the best one yet. It does'nt use alot of water like the older washers do. The wash time is cut in half. My power bill is much lower and my clothes are so clean. I can't believe that so little water cleans so well.
...

MarytheConsumer says "Kenmore Premium Washer is a Piece of Junk!" about Kenmore Washer and Dryer

In the summer of 2007, I bought a Sears Kenmore Premium Washer model 11024942301. In the late autumn of 2009, it vibrated so bad, we thought the basket would fly out of the housing and kill someone.

Today, Nov. 7, 2009, the Sears service technician said it needs a new gearcase, a new basket drive, a new sub-coupler, and a new block-drive, which, with labor, would cost $545.00.!!!

My previous washer was a Whirlpool and lasted 25 years. I figured that a Kenmore would be just as good, since it is made by Whirlpool. But everything is made in China now, so shopping for Chinese products is like throwing your money away.

Don't buy Sears Kenmore Premium washers until they start making them in the USA again.
...

BanjoBob says "Designed to fail, absolute crap" about Kenmore Washer and Dryer

I bought the front loading Kenmore model #417.43142200 5 years ago.

Last year the counterbalance came loose and repair was a couple hundred.

Now it's banging loudly during high speed spin and the spider arm broke resulting in a repair that will coast as much as a new machine.

I'm reading reports from others who say 7 years is the longest these can last.

It's poorly designed and designed to fail due to incompatability of aluminum and stainless steel leading to massive corrosion.

I feel like I've been robbed and will NEVER buy another Kenmore/Fridgidaire product again.

leslieg60 says "Nothing compares to the Kenmore Washer and Dryers!" about Kenmore Washer and Dryer

What can I say about the Kenmore Washers and Dryers...

I am 49 years old and the only thing I can remember ever being a constant in my life was, the Kenmore Washer and Dryer.

My mother had the same Kenmore Washer all of my life and would not trade it for anything. We didn't have a dryer in the early days, but it came later.

When I grew up and got married, the first thing we bought was a Kenmore Washer and Dryer! The only thing I can recall ever going wrong with my washer (we had bought used) was the wigwag solenoid going out. Very easy and cheap fix that my husband could fix! These USED Kenmore Washer and Dryers helped me raise 2 boys with clean clothes. I did however purchase new ones in 2005 after my husband and I divorced and he got the old ones.

You have a lot of choices to choose from when purchasing your new Kenmore Washer and Dryer. You can get from the simple model, with smaller load capacity and a dryer with just the basics you need to get by.

Or the one's that I like...
...

We have our Kenmore Dryer for TWENTY years now and it still works great. In fact, we have had 3 Washing Machines in the same amount of time. We have never even had a service call.

Our only reason for replacement was that ours is electric and our electric bill is just getting too high so we got a new GAS dryer (Kenmore!)

Worth every dime we paid.
...

We purchased a Kenmore He2 washer & dryer a little over a year ago with our stimulus check. So far both work fine & are reliable except the washer shakes quite a bit on high spin. Usually a little less clothes &/or balancing out where the towels or similar items in the load are, help the washer to shake less.HE detergent works fine. Found less expensive brands than Tide to use. We use Wisk or Purex. Washer cleans clothes very well. Dryer dries great. Washed & dried our quilts & they came out great! I like the wrinkle guard on the dryer in case I can't get clothes out right away. We didn't get the pedastals, too expensive.
...

I have owned a Kenmore Elite washer and dryer for less than 3 years and now circuit boards on both machines need to be replaced.

Fantastic washer until your rear bearing goes out. $700 to fix, so most repair people say get a new one. My service tech saw 3 this month on the Kenmore Elites. I own all Kenmore appliances, but not anymore. What a crap design on the rear bearing, the entire tub mechanism needs to come out with approx 300-400 in parts. I can fix a lot of things and it tees me off I have to buy a new washer after 4 years.
...

We replaced a very old but trusty stackable washer/dryer (not a kenmore) with a Kenmore washer/dryer. This wasn't the most expensive nor the top of the line, but we bought Kenmore since it was so highly recommended! 5 years now and the heating element is done! The cost of repairs: $249.95 plus it cost us $80 for the technician to come to look at it! Ridiculous and shows how the repair business is the cash cow!

We just bought a Kenmore Grill and it too was not quality. Brand new out of the box, paint was chipped and part was RUSTY!!! We have gone to Sears for their pride and joy Kenmore brand and i am not sure we'll go back to Sears or Kenmore again.

We purchased a Kenmore Elite Oasis Canyon Capacity Washer in 2007 when they were first inroduced to the market. It was supposed to be energy efficient: save on water, electricity and time. We hadn't had it very long, approximately 4 months, when the tub inside came loose and the control panel went bad. We called Sears for help. They sent out a technician that said it was a fitting that had stripped out and he replaced it and reset the control panel. He went on his way. Two weeks later it happened again, only this time the water would not drain out. We called for help once again. Another technician came out and said that he would have to order parts to fix it and would be back in 7-10 days when the parts came in. We had to go 2 weeks without a washer! Another technician came in and replaced the bad parts, reset the control panel and left. three days later it happened again. this time we demanded a new washer and got what we asked for. The new washer lasted long...
...
