Simply put, I replaced my elder 500 series Washer and Dryer with a new pair from Sears. Even though Kenmore is a house brand, it is built to the same tolerances and quality as its brethren models all of which including itself are built by Whirlpool Corporation.

After roughly 10 years I saw little wear on the old dryer, but due to the price for the pair I opted to replace them both. However, after 10 years I finally saw substantial wear on my old washer. But, in that ten years I would have played nearly 800 hockey games, participated in over 720 hockey practices, as well as coached hundreds more... why am I telling you this? Because hockey gear is one of the hardest things to wash and is even harder on the washing machine. Add that to my family washes for a family of 3 as well as my profession as an Architect which requires me to dress well. These washers have seen most evils from hard materials to wash all the way to washing the most delicate of clothes.

Good washer but always has a moldy smell. Try leaving the lid open and rinsing with bleach but to no avail.

I got my last Kenmore washing machine from a family member who bought it new in the 1980's and I had it for another four years before it finally gave out so I knew I wanted another Kenmore! The Kenmore 500 was reasonably priced - $399.99 at regular price but Sears always has sales going on so I got mine for $299.99 and there was a rebate for free delivery and installation. I've had this machine for four months and have been very happy with the performance - it has a large capacity for a top-load washer and my clothes always come out clean. The wash and rinse cycles are relatively quiet, although there is some shaking during the spin cycle - still, it's quiet enough that the noise isn't disturbing if the laundry room door is closed. It has five load size settings, four water temperature settings, and the option of one or two rinses per load, plus settings for normal heavy-duty, and delicate washes. I bought this Kenmore 500 washing machine for $399 on sale at Sears in Yreka California, and it included free delivery via a rebate. It's very noisy, so you wouldn't want it placed anywhere near the main part of the house, but it certainly gets the job done! Our clothes are much cleaner now (our old washer was also a Kenmore, but probably about 20+ years old). I have a 12 year old son who is into every sport he can possibly cram into a season, so we have lots of very dirty loads of clothes and so far this washer has been very reliable, even with heavy snowboarding gear such as jackets, ski pants, and even gloves. Our laundry room is off the kitchen, so the noise doesn't really bother us, and I'd already read other reviews so I was aware of the fact that the washer wasn't one of the quieter ones! The thing I love most about it is that it holds a TON of clothes, blankets, towels, etc. and still gets everything clean. I bought the matching dryer and couldn't be more please with...

My Kenmore 500 washer is <6 months old. It is already shot!! I bought a brand new house in August, and furnished it with all Kenmore appliances. My mistake. The dishwasher doesn't clean dishes, my refrigerator has been repaired twice, and I finally replaced it with an Amana. I know Amana is the same thing, but at least this one works. Now my Washer is crapping out. We are a family of 3, so it's not like we wash every other day. It's been used maybe 50-75 times. Ridiculous.

NEVER BUY FROM SEARS!!! I can't stress enough.

I PURCHASED THE KENMORE 500 WASHER AND DRYER A YEAR AGO. IT WAS JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. MY CHILDREN ARE GROWN AND I ONLY WASH CLOTHES FOR "2" NOW. I DON'T NEED TO SPEND A FORTUNE ON A WASHER AND DRYER AND I DON'T NEED SOMETHING THAT HAS FEATURES I WOULD NEVER OR ALMOST NEVER USE. I WOULD RATHER SPEND MY MONEY ON SOMETHING ENJOYABLE! I HAVE BEEN VERY SATISFIED WITH MY CHOICE IN BOTH THE WASHER AND DRYER. I HAVE BEEN MARRIED 33 YEARS AND HAVE ALWAYS HAD KENMORE APPLIANCES AND HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY SATISFIED. I am impressed with this Sear Kenmore 500 Model 110.2952 washing machine! On sale for $399.99, I couldn't find one any better or with as large a capacity. (3.5 cu ft) I don't like the fact that the washer stops agitating when the lid is opened, but I guess that this is a child safety feature.

I love the way that a knob is used to select whether or not I want a second rinse. On my old washer I had to remember to go push in the knob and turn it to 2nd rinse if I wanted one. *sigh*

It has 5 water level selections, 4 water temperature selections - hot, warm, cold or "tap cold" (whatever tap cold is! LOL) It has a Heavy Duty Cycle, a Normal/Casual Cycle and a Delicate Cycle. On the Heavy Duty Cycle it even has a cycle that washes for 16 minutes for heavily soiled clothes. The washer also has bleach and fabric softener dispensers and the machine is rated 319 kWh energy use per year for low energy/utility consumption. (Average $33/year)

All in all, I am very pleased with this...

I Have A Kenmore Washer & Dryer. The Washer Is A Good Washer & The Dryer Is A Good Dryer. What I Love About Kenmore It Runs Very Nice & Good.

We just got this in April and love it. I was used to having to wait 45 minutes for a load to run with our old Maytag, but this baby does a load in less than a half hour! It has the capacity to wash 16 large towels, so you can see how much it will hold. This Kemore 500 is a treat to use!...

I have had my Kenmore 500 washer for about 8 months now and it does a great job! I love the variation of settings and the generous tub inside. It has been a very well working machine. I just love it. Sears delivered it and set it up and removed my old washer for a small fee. They also gave me a rebate on the delivery and even better, it was on sale. It was truly a bargain. It does small loads or super loads. I can set it for one rinse or two rinses. My clothes are always sure to come out clean and thoroughly wrung. I will definately buy my new dryer from Sears and hopefully it will work as well for me as the Sears Kenmore 500 Washer.

I love my new Kenmore 500 washer, but the other reason I'm writing this review is because of the help we got from the Sears (Bartlesville, OK) salesperson, B. Davis. She was amazing! She knew everything there was to know about each and every washer! She is the reason we will ALWAYS shop at Sears from now on. Thank you B. Davis.....GREAT JOB!...
