I have a love-hate relationship with this vacuum. It has great suction when it is not clogged and has a clean filter. The problem is that it clogs easily. Dirt gets trapped behind the beater bar and is difficult to remove. Also, the filter gets dirty very quickly. The filter is also very expensive and Sears seems to be out of them all the time!

This vacuum will keep you happy. I just love everything about it! I've had three vacuums in 20 years.Two of the best were kenmore, but this one is my favorite of all. I did own a bagless but had nothing but problems with it, so this time I choose a bag. An I haven't been disappointed yet, I've owned this one for almost two years and had no problems at all.It picks up everything, even has attachment for vacuuming the furniture, then all the way up the steps. If you have messy kids like me, you will this machine as much as I do. I really can't say enough good things about it. My cleaning lady wanted to buy it from me, I told where to get it!:) Worth every penny, which I also bought the sears warranty, they clean and service it for you once a years for free. Can't beat that!

Kenmore vacuum tank cleaner is on of the best carpet cleaners I have used. It is easy to prepare to use. Rotates over the carpet easily. The scrubbers are not too harsh on the carpet. ...

Though heavier than my last vacuum, this Kenmore Vacuum Cleaner certainly does a better job at cleaning. It is a very powerful machine and there is no need to fuss with belts, as it is a beltless direct drive system. It comes with some very handy attachments and I found it even handled the stairs in my home well....

The Kenmore Vacume Cleaner is the most effecient cleaner, makes your carpet look brand new. Is extremely easy to handle and the price was great....

I purchased the Kenmore progressive inteli-clean vacuum in the summer of 2007. Ever since then my carpets along with everthing else have been the cleanest they've ever been. The amount of attachments you receive are more than enough to tackle any job you may have. Lastly one of the features I love is the dirt sensor. It always tells me when the area is clean beyond what the naked eye can see. Happy cleaning!!

Sears Repair computer-phoned to say my top-rated 1997 Kenmore Tank Vacuum was ready to pick up. I had paid an initial fee to start the replacement of the motor.

It was returned untouched, I was told it meant that no motor was available, and no refund was offered.

I said it could be a fraud to take money for no work, and I did not believe a top-rated Kenmore vacuum cleaner could not have a replacement motor available somewhere.

I said I did not believe Sears Shoreline would deny a refund.

The pickup desk person then admitted that his superior had the authority to refund. I got the refund and took back my unfixed Kenmore -- to get fixed some other way.

I will be calling Kenmore for confirmation that my Kenmore's motor is not available anywhere. At least, perhaps, from Parts.com, Ebay, or Craig's List, if not through Sears.

Meanwhile, I am trying a new highly-rated Kenmore stand-up bagless vacuum cleaner that was on sale at Sears Shoreline for $70 off from $350.
