rjwysong1954 says "Kenmore 30 inch electric range - great!!!" about Kenmore Range - Electric

I got my new Kenmore 30 inch range in late April 2009 and I absolutely love it. The delivery was right on time and they had some difficulty getting it to fit into the spot alloted by the builder but with some ingenuity on the delivery man's part it was a perfect fit. It fits snuggly in the alloted space. The only problem I have had is with the reflector/drip pans becoming discolored so quickly but that's no big deal for me. The stove top heats quickly and evenly. The oven temperature is totally accurate. It takes about 15 minutes to preheat. I love that the oven is digital so some of the newer recipes calling for 360 degree ovens are easily accommodated with this stove. I've never ever used the warming drawer on any range I've had - never think about them. I like that there are several options for the oven rack adjustment not just one. Overall I just love it and would highly recommend it to others.
...

We just bought this stove. Real easy to work the temperature control. Love the fact that the burners are black, easy to clean. The oven has two racks which will make it great for cooking Thanksgiving dinner.
...

JayHill says "Kenmore Stoves are the worst you could ever have!!!!" about Kenmore Range - Electric

Well, lets see... To start.. I have the 790 model... the first thing that broke was the stoves door feel off... I mean it was not being used at the time (it was off) and the front " metal frame" fell open, then the glass slammed onto the floor. We where lucky as it did not break, so thank god it was not on at 450 then melted the floor. Got that fixed.

Now, was cooking a Pizza... Took it out to check on it and turn... A loud pop and a spark came from the digital display and the whole thing went off.. HMMM

Called SEARS.. repair guy comes out.... tells me the board was fried "what ever that means" and it's $400+ for a new one.... Let's see.... A brand new stove is around what $450-$500... It's crap...

"DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY ON ANY KENMORE PRODUCTS"

MommmieDSJ says "Kenmore Range Convection Oven works well but is discolored " about Kenmore Range - Electric

It works great! I love my convection oven. I just cooked my Thanksgiving turkey and it was so moist and delicious. I love being able to bake three dozen cookies at the same time. However, I have one very huge complaint. After just one oven self-clean, the white parts around the edge of my oven are discolored. I have tried unsuccessfully to clean it with vinegar, Soft Scrub, Comet, and soda. No luck. The discolor remains. I am considering trying to get my money back and purchasing another range. If one oven cleaning has stained the range so badly, what will this unit look like in a year?...

Sunshiney says "Stylish and reliable, that's my Kenmore Range!" about Kenmore Range - Electric

Our previous range died a sudden death and we were forced to go shopping for a new one.

We were thrilled to find a very classy looking black Kenmore range in the style our kitchen required. I had no idea just how slow to heat and cook my old range was until the new Kenmore range was installed. What a difference! Instead of waiting 10 minutes for a pot of water to start boiling, it happened in less than 3! It's a dream to cook on the stovetop and in the spacious oven! And I love the self-cleaning oven as well as the Delay cooking feature.

We get comments on what a sharp looking range it is with the shiny black finish and handle on the door and I think it adds a lot of class to our kitchen. I just wish I had bought a Kenmore to start with!

...

fhawkins83 says "This Kenmore electric range arrived on time and everything works" about Kenmore Range - Electric

This 30" electric range # 94212 fits my needs. I liked the larger oven and warmer drawer. The Sears Installers slid it right into the spot where my old defunct GE was. The Simmer coil feature is nice as a replacement for a crock pot. The controls are simple to use. The higher back hid where the wall paper stopped. Now, you know my wallpaper secret.

It has the traditional higher wattage electric coils. I had a glass cooktop in the past and couldn't wait to get rid of it. Frankly, I can't imagine why they survive in the market, but many must like them. I ended up spending a small fortune on cookware to get even heating, but it still was a pain.

Home and Garden TV would be bored by my place. The range is white and matches the walls in my house and the other appliances. Yet, it looks clean and neat accenting the wood floors, cabinets and other appliances.

It is new, so I'm hoping for that traditional Kenmore reliability, but time will tell.
...

Purchased this stove Jan 17, 2006 Model 790-9621. On Jan 17, 2007 repair service had to repair a leakystove door. August 21, 2007 oven overheated while baking a cake. Cake was placed on middle rack with an aluminum cookie sheet placed on the rack below.

Over heating caused the cookie shee to MELT and DRIP ONTO THE BOTTOM OF THE OVEN WHERE IT FUSED TO THE METAL of the oven bottom causing smoke and a strong odor. Repair service agents used their meters checked the stove and said there was NO problem. I pursued this further with Customer Service but without success. I cannot bake in this oven; cakes, breads brown and cook on top ... but the insides are raw.

The top burners are now turning dark black in the center of the burners.

The stove is definitely defective but Sears even after several phone calls and visits to the store, refused to offer any resolution. I've been a customer of Sears of over 35 years and have never experience such poor service. Sears is no longer...
...

We just purchased a Kenmore glass top range and we love it. No problems! It's so easy to clean and we love the hidden heating element in the oven. We installed it our self and had no problems. The vent for the oven is located under the left knob and sometimes when the steam is coming out of it, it could burn your hand if you were using the knob....

LibbyMcMillan says "Having trouble with broiler after only 2 years" about Kenmore Range - Electric

Can you spell TROUBLE?
My range came with the model home we purchased 2 years ago. I much prefer gas ranges, but OH WELL, the builder didn't go that route.

Tricky to Clean
Our glasstop has been tricky to keep clean, plus we had to drive all over town looking for the special stuff you have to have in order to clean it (finally found it at Bed Bath & Beyond, who would have guessed?).

I'm Burning Up
The burners drive me a little nuts because they go on and off to regulate the temperature. I think this drives the food in the pan a little crazy, as well as the cook. My biggest issue, however, is with the broiler, which has ceased working properly at only two years' time. I put poblano peppers under the broiler to roast them and 45 minutes later, at "500 degrees" the skins were not yet fully done. Crazy, huh? I obviously need a repair call, but that kind of irritates me at only two years.

Worse Still...
I just discovered RUST on my range! We open the windows 3-6 months...
...
