I have been usuing this vacuum for about 5 years.

It's a great machine. My carpet attachment has never worked properly and I never took it back. My fault. Anyway I use this thing about 3 or 4 times a week on hard wood floors and it does a great job!!!

The bags are easy to changs and the self winding cord is long enough and very convienent!

You really can't go wrong with a Kenmore!

In all my years cleaning, I have used many different types of vacuums from the water filled Rainbow,to bagless. I did very much like the Fantom which I used over 10years ago it was bagless when it died, I just couldn't find one I liked. The bagless were just as dusty as the bagged vacuum. But I decided to buy the Sears Kenmore Progressive with the Truehepa bag and I just love it I can't say enough about it. The tools are on board and easy to switch to. The bag is easy to change without dust flying around unlike the bagless vacs and one bag last a good amount of time.

Really anyone who needs a vacuum take it from me don't waste your money on other vacuums buy this one and you will be very happy with it and oh yes it cleans.

I've had a long list of vacuum cleaners. Really. They were mostly "hand-me-down" vacuums that couldn't suck a piece of lint out of the air never mind pull dirt out of the carpet. I purchased this vacuum about a year ago and I'm really pleased with how well it cleans and maintains my home. What I love most about it is its versatility. I've always had upright vacuums and they didn't clean my hardwood floors, so I was stuck pulling out a broom or the swiffer! Because of the different attachments the vacuum also saves me time.

I have microfiber furniture and a dog which equals to lots of hair stuck to everything! This vacuum's attachment pulls the hair right out of the microfiber and leaves my cushions nice a plump. The only downfall is the vacuum is a little loud which is why I didn't give it a "5 Star" rating. Don't try to have a conversation while vacuuming because there will be a lot of "What?!" and "HUH?!" back and forth! Its also a bit clunky, so it occasionally likes to ram itself into...

I got this vacuum last year. After years of cheap uprights vacuums from Walmart and Target I did my research and discovered that the Progressive was the best value buy at Consumer Reports.

It lives up to my expectations. It cleans my carpets and bare floors well. I love the way it sits on the steps so I can clean them easily without fighting the vacuum. The extending wand is handy for high cleaning.

This vacuum is worth the price!

The first thing we noticed about the Kenmore Progressive canister is that it's so quiet one can actually carry on a conversation while sweeping. It can even be used while the kids are napping in other parts of our home.

This vacuum cleaner does a great job of cleaning; it has very good suction power. Our house has hardwoods throughout, with just a few area rugs. The vacuum level adjusts very easily & cleans both surfaces effectively, even both low pile & shag rugs. We have cats, and thus litter to sweep up- it accomplishes the task quite well & kicks nothing back out. It does an excellent job on cat hair as well. The long cord means I don't have to constantly stop to unplug & plug it in elsewhere. Furthermore, it has proven easy for us to use on stairs.

The only trouble I've encountered is difficulty disconnecting the hose/handle from the wand. It takes quite a bit of thumb pressure to press the button sufficiently, but I'm getting the hang of dealing with that minor issue.
